Food was good- stopped for crawfish and silly me from across the country didn't know the season was over. Rude waitress was quick to put me in my place. We are driving across the country with our dogs and when we got there there was no shade anywhere- see picture of parking lot. We walked pretty far to stand under a couple trees. I went in to ask if I could bring them in crated, and explained one is a service dog. Didn't get the words out and she flat out refused. The pic also shows it was not crowded. I see everyone talking about great service so maybe my request put her in a bad mood because she was rude to me the whole meal, in which my daughter and I traded out to take care of the dogs in the middle. This is probably the Blane crawfish I ever ate. I hate when places promote saying they have the best crawfish around when all they have is steamed with dust on the outside. I'm sorry but I cook them better drunk then most places around this part of the world. If you want good crawfish go to NOLA not just Louisiana but New Orleans. On the side of the road randomly in Anahuac. It's a dive bar that happens to serve crawfish, which is just fine with me! They have crawfish all you can eat until 8:00 most nights. After that it is $5 per pound. Not bad at all. The crawfish was pretty good! They also have potatoes, corn and sausage they serve with it. No mushrooms though, I was pretty bummed about that. read more

Normally we do not have a problem there. Go at least 2 to 3 times a month. Normally it's 5 or more of us. We spend good money and tip well. But I mean but last Friday night we had issue with food from fryer. Boudan balls was burnt beyond eatable. Had to ask for remake second was as bad. Oysters and shrimp was undercooked. This place was fantastic before Harvey, but they have some big time issues. No kitchen on premises for starters. We went yesterday for the first time in 3 years and we were really disappointed. Took 45 minutes for someone to take our order, and then over an hour more before my salad was delivered. I never even received a third of my order. As we were on our way out, the owner, Liz, stopped us to apologize. That's nice, but it doesn't make up for the worst dining experience in 40 years. She explained that since Harvey and 3 other floods the county won't let her rebuild her kitchen. That's sad, but how can you run a restaurant with a remote kitchen? Having experienced the place in its heyday, if I had venture capital I would finance a rebuild and start over as she has the talent and ability to run a great restaurant. But as it is now, she should just close it. We will keep watching for updates. read more

I ate here 4/23/17 Me and my husband decided to come here we heard a lot of good things about The Crawfish place as soon as we walked in I had a good impression about the place seems very laid back and homey After going over the menus for a few minutes we both decided to go with the burgers The waitress did seem a little rude at first but I figured you know what it's really packed she probably had a rough day so I blew it off we ordered well done burgers but when they both came out you could obviously tell they were burnt I let our waitress no the burgers were burnt she said she could have new ones made I asked how long the wait would be she said another 45 min due to that's how long the grill took to make well done burgers I immediately thought to myself that didn't sound right and I replied no we both haven't ate all day we're really hungry and we don't want to wait another 45 minutes for some new burgers to come out and if she could just take them off the check keep in mind we didn't even touch our food she walked away without saying a word I figured she was going to get the check another 25 min went by so when I seen her pass bye I asked if she could hurry up she rolled her eyes another 15 min went bye she still haven't brought our check and we where also waiting on our card that she put on hold she walked by again I said excuse me she said I'm not your slave and said I you can leave which is fine but my husband needed his card back we ended up having to ask another waitress for it along with the other waitress name Allison.... read more

My family has been on the road for about an hour and wanted something to eat that was local. Being crawfish lovers we saw this place and decided to try it. We walked in and sat ourselves. A waitress asked our drink orders then walked off to get them. Another waitress asked us we needed anything maybe a minute after the other girl had walked away. She informed us that the food would take an hour to make. With a restaurant Full of people with no food in front of them we were a bit skeptical of staying. She added that the appetizers would not take as long so we ordered some fried food while the other server walked back with our drinks. The server that took our order went off to put it in and the other one, after confirming that we were ok, left. The first waitress that greeted us checked on us maybe twice within the next 45 minutes--still no food. We finally had to flag a waitress down and ask how long our food was going to take. She went to check and came back with the answer "15 minutes". By this time we were hungry and frustrated at the customer service so we asked to pay for the drinks and then left. As someone who works in a restaurant, and being a consumer, a working kitchen is essential to a successful restaurant. Honestly the place seemed more like a bar. Saw this recently on Texas Monthly Texas Bucket List. After a short local day trip I suggested to my friend we go here since TBL had nothing but good to say about this place. Service was the worst ever and not family oriented as stated on the TBL segment. Its not only a bar but a bad one at that!!! The waitress kept passing us over to serve other tables & never returned to get our food order. Two waitresses & 30 customers looks like the owners need better help. Better yet go back to BYOB less overhead & more $$$ to be made! After 15 minutes we paid our .50 tab yeah that's right 50 cents!! Not a thank you, sorry for what happened nor " forget the 50 cents" Like that was really going to happen right . Been to some bad bars and some good ones this one I'll have to rate a - 4. For customer service the score is buried so far below the chart good luck to whoever tries to dig it out, food forget about it!!! You'll more than likely never see any here unless you bring your own. Totally unexpected and a great stop! Had mudbugs in Gulfport and they did not hold a candle to these succulent sweet tails. They won the 2016 Budweiser southeastern Texas beer and crawfish competition and they deserved it! Worth the two mile drive from 10 highway.
