Went there last night for 5 de drinko. Their tile floors were all wet, multiple slips. Mop it up. Jeesh They serve drinks in cheap plastic cups yet they have a dress code. Just had dinner here. My wife and I ordered the fried mozzarella burger, medium, with side spinach salad instead of fries. Burgers were cooked perfectly, and salads were dressed with emerald (mine) and the Crazy Cucumber ranch (hers). Portions were more than adequate, so no appetizers necessary. On prior visits, we have ordered the guacamole, which is prepared table side, and have never been disappointed. We each had a happy hour drink - decent margaritas. Plus, there's a beach and fire pit at one end of the patio - great fun and relaxing. Local live music on weekends. Service was quick, and always courteous. read more

I ended up in Ocala with my father to visit my aunt and uncle, and was told many great things about this place. We ordered the guacamole which was made at our table which I thought was pretty cool. The guacamole was excellent! The Sunday special of all you can eat wings was a no-brainer. I enjoyed trying out many different types as I am a connoisseur of wings. All of the food that was ordered at the table and the service was excellent. The next time I am in Ocala I will be back! read more

The menu had a good variety, not your typical applebees type & the prices were great. I ordered the blackened redfish platter but asked for it to be grilled instead. It was pretty good, a little over done but the rice & sauce masked it pretty well. Went there last Friday night. I always hope for a different outcome, but it was much worse that I expected from previous visits. From the hostess, to the bar staff, to the manager, everyone seemed to be frantic. While I do understand being short staffed, all employees seems to be unapologetic about the lack/absence of service. Not a chain but should be. Great open air feel with a great menu. I struggled to decide what to eat as there were so many great options. I had the smoked shrimp salad which was so different from the run of the mill salads. The shrimp was smokey and fresh and the greens crisp. It comes in two sizes which is great. This place was a disaster. We read the reviews and thought we would try it for lunch on our way to savannah. $50 for food for four and we had to go to Panera afterwards to eat. My teenage son and I got the warm mushroom salad which was so tiny it was ridiculous that we paid $13.00 for each. The lentils were rock hard and we almost cracked our teeth on them. There were a few tiny mushrooms in the salad. My youngest had the kids grilled cheese which had no flavor. He did not eat it. Service was also very slow with only two waiters working. Took my wife out for s date night and was very very disappointed, we ordered our appetizer and then ordered soup and then our meal. We then finally received our drinks. We did tell the waitress that my wife has a seafood allergy, so about 39 to 40 min later the appetizer my soup and our dinner arrived all together half of my wife's meal was on top of my seafood so she could not eat and the other hslf of my meal was not there. We started to tell the server what the deal is he walked away then the waitress arrived and threw her hand up and said she would get manager and the manager never came over so we left. Went in about 10:00pm on Saturday night , no one greeted us so we finally sat ourselves when it said (see hostess to be seated ) I had to track down a waitress my self , took my drink order and it took over 10 minutes to get it then she kept saying : we had a party of 30 people come in and it's throwing us behind , I thought ok so what were a party of 2 get another server etc , we ordered an appetizer and finally it came , and once again she apologized about the party of 30 , I'm sorry in the restaurant-bar business you should be prepared no matter what, it was very unorganized, and it's a shame because it's a new place and looks pretty nice I hope they get there act together or I won't go back , also have plenty of experienced bartenders and have a plan if a big party comes in !! Food LOOKED good.... we went in on a Monday night, it was pretty dead, took like 10 minutes before the waiter came. Then took about another 10 minutes for him to bring the water. After we finally got to order. About 30 minutes went by and the waiter came up and said" hey sorry it will be about 5 more minutes" I told him I was not happy about the wait, as I am looking at people who got here after us eating before us. So he said he will get the manager. No one came after 10 more minutes we just got up and left. This place needs to get better communication skills. read more

I think this is my new favorite Ocala restaurant. There is a wonderful menu including burgers and sandwiches but they also have lovely swordfish dishes, some other kind of fish, cioppino and lots more. We had yummy clam chowder for an appetizer and Scallops, perfectly seared, served over honeydew Rissoto with prosciutto and a lemon sauce. The food was beautiful and delicious. I had a Crazy Cucumber, basically a cucumber martini. It was great. Ok, I had 2. I love the fresh, casual elegant atmosphere and, the patio has a wonderful feel with lots of cushy wicker couches and chairs and an outdoor bar. The service was great too, what can I say, I love The Crazy Cucumber. Oh, they also have vegan and gluten free choices, if that is of interest to you. read more

Not sure about the Crazy Cucumber. We were there in the middle of the afternoon. Definitely the down time, with very few customers. It's not like the service was good or bad. It was more like "well guess I have to wait on you". Wasn't asked if wanted lemon in ice tea. Kind of threw stuff on table. We both had a light lunch of flat bread. My friend's chicken / basil pesto flatbread was very good. My eggplant and goat cheese flatbread was sort of OK. Little eggplant, probably not ripe, almost hard, little grilling, couldn't taste the little goat cheese on flatbread partly due to mozzarella cheese. I walked in for a drink after dinner nearby and had an absolutely terrible experience. It was Saturday 7/14/18 at 10:32pm. We sat down and the bartender asked what we wanted. I asked if they had any specials she said no we close in 30 minutes. This was the first thing I was annoyed with. You're a bartender for the love of god at least be friendly say hello and smile. This should be the absolute least expectation. So I ordered a beer my friend ordered a mixed drink and she immediately asked for my payment. I planned on having a second drink but to avoid any burdens I just paid. At 11:45 she came back and said she was doing a final call if I wanted something else. I said no thank you. I tried asking the bartender about changes in the establishment and she just said no nothings changed and seemed annoyed that I was trying to be friendly. I was absolutely disappointed with my experience here. I've been here in the past many times and always had a pleasant experience. I can always grab a cheaper drink somewhere else quite frankly I came here for a good experience not a cheap drink. However I ended up annoyed and disappointed. Please train your employees on customer survive. I mean if it was 4am and you've been bartending all night I'd understand but it was 10:30pm. Bartenders should be cheerful and welcoming not pessimistic and unwelcoming. read more

Wow! We waited over 5 mins to be acknowledged and finally sat ourselves. The server was nice but they don't write anything down so she came back twice to ask questions again. When the food arrived every single order was wrong. We asked for the manager. A woman came with our fixed meals about 5 mins later and started serving them. We had to ask if she was the manager. When we explained our complaints she did nothing but tell my boyfriend he was being rude. She did nothing to fix the situation. Bad manager = bad restaurant. We will never go there again! read more

I was here for dinner Friday night with a group of six ladies. Our server was attentive. The cocktails were good, but entirely too small. Three of the ladies had salad with salmon or shrimp which none raved about. Two had the roasted chicken flatbread, one liked it, one didn't. The toppings were very skimpy. I had the wild mushroom risotto. And, although it was tasty, the portion size was pitiful. All our portions were too small for the price. This was my first time at the Crazy Cucumber. It was not very crowded at 6:30. We were seated by the hostess. Slow service. We waited 20 minutes after we put in our order for drinks. Our appetizer arrived first! No water until later. Our waiter told us that our rolls would be out shortly, but no one followed through. A table behind us got rolls right away and the table next to them said "what about our rolls". They were on their entree at that point! We did get our rolls with our entree, but they were so salty, I couldn't eat mine. The food was ok, rib eyes were tough, my husband loved his Red Fish filet dinner. The clam chowder had no taste and no clams. We are from Massachusetts. There are tons of people from New England here, the "chowda" needs to be right! This restaurant has the dubious distinction of making the worst veggie burger I have ever was tasted. We were overnighting in Ocala on our way to Siesta Key and were looking for a place to eat lunch. I was so excited to find a restaurant that offered both vegan and GF foods. My daughter and I had the vegan GF burgers and they were dreadful. It was all mushy and dry at the same time. The burger patties were not crisped on the outside so the mouth feel was ghastly. They use Udi's buns which are dry at the best of times and then didn't put any mayo, ketchup etc on the bun, just a little bit of pickled cabbage (that was delicious) and a tiny slice of tomato. My son had a grilled salmon salad. He said the salmon was poorly seasoned and the salad was dreadfully oily. My husband had an entree portion of lobster risotto that, when delivered, was the size of a starter portion and very lackluster in taste. This dreadful meal for four cost us over $70. Warning to all celiacs, don't be drawn in by their GF offerings. The food is overly priced and bad. read more

So disappointed in this place. Drove over 30 minutes to eat here after waiting to try it and have a baby sitter lined up for a date night , after months of waiting boy we're we highly disappointed. It was a Friday evening about 9:45 when we arrived , knowing they don't close till 11:00 Friday nights. No more then 5 guests in the whole place. When we arrived we went inside to look for service and the bartenders just starred at us and finally after awkward moments of glances I asked if we can be seated outside. They said they'll be with us soon we can seat our selves . After 10 mins the young waiter asked us what we'd like to drink and I said I'd also like menus also to look at.. fast forward 10 more mins he comes back with the menus and steps off agin for another 15 minutes!! Comes back by this time it's close to 10:15 , we tell him what we'd like and he said they are not serving food anymore and everything is put away I was in shock not only do we plan this date night for months but we drove over a half hour & we're seated sat there waitingaround only to be told we can't order any food so I nicely asked OK fine can we have some of this "famous" guacamole please and chips and he said that was put away as well. It's a Friday Night and you guys we got here an hour and 15 mins before !?! What the flying fudge monkey is going on here !? Mmmk. So thanks for the watered down margarita and I still left that young boy waiter a tip because it's not his fault this place is a shit hole. Left and had a grand time at Applebee's. Yes , a corporate restaurant. Way better service and drinks and atmosphere. Bad news travels 10x faster then good news and I will never give this place a second thought. read more

We liked this place. It's a little rough, like a combined neighborhood bar and cafe. But it was fun, the staff was great and the food decent. We went on Trivia night and the announcer easily engaged the crowded restaurant--everyone seemed to having fun. We answered questions on slips of paper and put them in his box. He gave us points even if our answers were wrong. The whole thing was about having fun and we did. Hubby and I ordered vegan burgers and beer, Stellas. The burgers were a little puffier and softer than I'm used to for vegan burgers but the flavor was great. Would definitely o there again. read more

This was my first and last visit to this restaurant. I went with two other girlfriends for dinner. We were told there was a 20min wait, but they could seat us during that wait so we can at least order drinks and chat. That sounded pretty good to us, so we agreed. We were brought to a booth, and started losing track of time. My friend realized it had been 45min and nobody had come to take the drink order. We weren't really upset since we were catching up and hadn't seen each other for awhile. So we flagged down a waitress and asked about the wait. We were told they were really busy tonight and understaffed, but would be back for our order as soon as possible. *I just want to note that the place was virtually empty, and the people sitting behind us arrived after us and they already had drinks. After about another 20min (over an hour in total), we finally were able to give our order for food and drinks. I ordered the burger and asked for soup instead of fries, which I was told was a $2.95 extra charge (of which I was ok to pay), and a drink called the "Crazy Bitch". The waitress came back in about another 20min to tell me they didn't have an ingredient for my drink order and I would need to order something else. So I ordered another drink. Another half hour or so went by and we got our drinks and appetizer. The guacamole dip was pretty impressive, and I will give credit that everything was fresh and made at our table (this was the only good thing about this place). When the main courses arrived, the food was good as well - nothing special, but good. My friend agreed to pay the bill and we would pay her back on venmo. She automatically put the card with the receipt in the holder and gave it to the waitress. Now I'll take responsibility that I should have looked at the receipt prior to payment, but alas I didn't - making the assumption that everything was charged correctly. However, this was not the case. When I asked my friend for a picture of the receipt a few days later, I realized quickly why it is so important to check the receipt prior to payment. The receipt showed a charge for my original drink order (the one I didn't receive, so I was charged for two drinks instead of one), and a full charge for the soup of $3.95. So all in all, I over paid about $11 to this restaurant, and had to wait about 2 hours before getting food. I was willing to forgive the wait, but when I realized I was overcharged as well, I just couldn't stay quiet. I learned a valuable lesson though: always check your receipt prior to paying. read more
