Situated on Riverside Avenue in Lyndhurst, this cozy, simple hidden gem establishment offers an array of healthy options on their diverse menu, to which my partner and I returned after 8 years. Upon entering 3rd Wave Cafe, we were able to get a booth along the wall in an upbeat, casual vibe as the music was playing throughout. We decided on the Tropical Crêpe and Avocado BLT Wrap. I started with a French iced coffee that was really strong and served in a glass mug. The crêpe was fluffy, and the texture was great. I could tell all the fruit in it was fresh because it was sweet. The crepe was decorated nicely with a Nutella drizzle and whipped cream dollops that made it visually pleasing. The food, on top of being good-tasting, had a great presentation. The price was reasonable and the portion a healthy size. The service was friendly and not rushed; our server was Am. We left feeling satisfied and content, and we can recommend returning to explore other menu items.

Extensive selection, but it didn't take long to decide on the apple-walnut-caramel crêpe to share, costing not much more than 2 ice creams. We watched the lone young man as he poured batter onto the round griddle to just the perfect thinness; as he expertly flipped it; as he loaded on plenty of apple compote, plenty of walnuts, and gently squeezed caramel sauce. Then he folded it into a neat rectangle, scooped it into an exactly the same size pan, flipped the whole thing over onto another griddle and left it to heat while he made a crêpe for the person behind us. At exactly the right moment (was he watching the clock? or maybe he's just THAT good!), he flipped it over, slid the crêpe onto a plate, artistically drizzled more caramel sauce on top and then gently shook some powdered sugar over it. Handed me 2 forks and knives and we sat on stools at the counter for our Sunday afternoon treat! Excellent! They have several savory crêpes (in Paris, those were usually buckwheat crêpes called galettes) and many sweet ones. Unfortunately it's more of a takeout place, with just the few stools at a counter inside, and a couple of small tables outside. I'm still looking for a genuine Parisian-style restaurant with a good selection of galettes and crêpes - but this was a great find and I definitely recommend it to you!
