I like this place. My cousins and I used to play pool frequently here. It was a good way to spend time, grab a beer, and have fun. However, it does get a little crowded so you might have to wait for a pool table. Some sticks might be old, but there's plenty to choose from. Definitely average but a couple of concerning things with this joint. I really was unhappy with the fact that the electrical sockets in a couple of places had wires exposed!!! seriously WTHeck are you thinking people!!! That is super dangerous. The stools/chairs had odd backs that basically were barely there. The joint was rather dirty as well. I wish that all the tables had scoring racks instead of just a few of them. However some great stuff included the fact that they had a lot of tables, big bay windows, good condition felt, uncracked/unchipped balls, BEER, lights over every table... However I just had a blase vibe on this place after driving by countless times and thinking, wow, I want to get my azz in there and shoot (I had only been once in the last few years)... Ok so this was the hall I grew up playing at when I was a kid. My dad used to take me there once a month or so, and when I turned 18 (must be 18, 21 after 10pm) I began going there every weekend with my friends. I learned the game here, and met people that taught me how to gamble, compete, and make the game interesting. This place used to be a players' pool hall (I use that term to describe a place that real players, sharks etc play at and compete). However, once prices went from 8.00/hour per table in 2002 to a staggering 13.50/hour, the players stopped coming, but the young crowd still shows up and fills up the place every Friday and Saturday night. Good mix of people, including lots of girls :D Tables are excellent, and if you want a good house cue, ask for it at the counter (no one knows this!). For a place that charges that much though, the tables should be perfect, which is why I've taken a star off. Only for price. Great atmosphere, not 'ghetto' like others say (they don't know what a ghetto hall is), good jukebox, and plenty of booze. read more

For those who care, the tables are well maintained, and the felt plays fast... just great tables to play on. There are easily 20 plus 9 foot pocket tables and 2 cushion tables in the back area that are never taken... The rate is 8 an hour solo and I believe 12 an hour for two or more players... they provide a loyalty card that offers 1 hour for free every 10 hours you accumulate. The food is fairly basic and nothing special.. I recommend the fries and burrito if you do want to eat... There is always a lady coming around offering alcohol, pitchers etc... Just a very nice place to play on the week nights and they close at 2am which is great for me to unwind after a long day... Best social nights are Friday and Saturday... read more

Hello my Yelpies, First time at this place, place is alright. Not the best environment but decent. Came here with some friends for a few games, decent price. I was a little nervous about how much it will be but it wasn't too bad. One thing I do hope they can do is probably clean up a little, the chair I was sitting on was wet and I don't even want to know why it was wet but hope it was just water or some kind of drinks. It does get a little pack when it's on a weekend but usually from what I heard you don't have to wait that long. I like the fact they have alcohol but it was definitely super over priced. It's pretty inexpensive from other places and can be only a few bucks to a little over $10 depending on the time of day and how many people you're playing with. Similar to most places that have pool tables, they just hold onto your ID and set a timer and will charge you by the hour. Just a heads up, this place is CASH ONLY. There is plenty of parking in the back. I would recommend walking with a group of friends if you're entering from the back side especially at night time. They ask for your ID as a deposit/insurance before assigning you a table and handing you balls to play with. I went last night and when I went to return my balls and pay, they couldn't find my ID. They asked if another person was me (another Chinese male with a vertical ID) and after a puzzled look for a minute, I figured out that they swapped my ID with another Asian party and handed my ID to the wrong person, who was already long gone. The management refused to be of any help and just took down my name and phone number and took my money. If this place is going to take my ID as insurance, shouldn't I get to keep the balls if they can't return my ID??? Besides this, I'm out $31 for the replacement of my ID and unable to drive until it arrives. I would highly recommend people to not patronize this business and to keep their IDs safe where it belongs, in their pocket. read more

We had fun once we had our table & you'll be surprised how fast the time goes by. If you go over time, when your about to pay it goes over the amount of what they told you so keep that in mind. So my girl friends wanted to do something fun for the night, after stuffing our faces at Souplantation-- so one of them suggested to come here. In the beginning, I was a tad skeptical because (1) I suck at pool & (2) the place always looked like a creepy place that would just be filled with creepers and probably pool addicts. Coming into the parking lot, it was a bit creepy at night-- especially since it resembled one of those dark alleys.... but with a Western/Texas twist. The parking lot wasn't packed-- so that was definitely a plus. When we got into the pool hall, there were only a few tables that were filled with pool addicts-- you know, the ones that know what they were doing (which were mostly guys). We ended up paying $11 for an hour, which isn't bad since there was four of us. The place was not lively at all. In fact, it was a bit dead-- like all you could hear were pool balls rolling around. And if you were lucky on the night I went, you would've heard a bunch of giggles-- especially since some of us were such pool noobs. Besides my friends and I having a blast and creating our own music from our giggles and laughter, there would be random music playing at random times (AND NOBODY EVEN PAID THE JUKEBOX FOR MUSIC). Like seriously, the music was pretty random-- without any transitions. But then again, this wasn't a club and I definitely wasn't expecting a DJ (although music throughout the night would've been great). The atmosphere was pretty dark and gloomy... I felt like I was in a horror film-- sorta. But I guess that is how pool halls should be? Regardless, this place is pretty fun-- only if you have great company. I don't know why this place received average ratings. This is one of the cleanest and friendliest location's I've been in. Not that expensive per hour. Plenty tables available during the night. Seems like people come here mainly to shoot and nothing else, which is nice. Parking available on the street or at the lot. McDonald's across the street if you need coffee or a Big Mac. I liked this place and the workers were friendly. In addition to all that, I beat my friend in a game and now she owes me dinner. I gave them a courtesy call to see if there were tables available. Once we got the OK, we promptly left to the place. It was a pretty decent pool hall. There were many tables that were open so you can take your pick. If you're a basketball fan like me, you would definitely ask for the table that's in front of the TV (Go lakers even though you guys lost!). The night started getting a little more packed as it approached 10pm. Rates were $12.50 an hour which wasn't too bad. Beer was $6 for a mug which was okay too. The bottom line is that if you and some of your guy friends want to have a relaxing night after a long day of work/school, stop by for a drink and shoot some billiards. ENIVIRONMENT I'm not sure if the place is specifically non-smoking or we were just lucky with the crowd when we visited, but it was a breath of fresh air (literally and figuratively) to visit a large billards place with no smokers. I've been coming here for a while (since back in 2010) I stopped coming here 4 years ago and vowed never to go back. If it weren't for the Sunday 9 ball tournaments I would not step foot in this pool hall. I literally live down the street and I would rather drive 45 mins to Hardtimes in Bellflower. First off, if you're a player looking for some action, this is not the place. It is definitely not a players room. If you're looking to have a good time and don't mind getting charged an arm and a leg then this is the place for you. They will over charge you, so I suggest you watch your table time, snap a quick pic, do whatever you need to do to keep track of your table time. Also ask them what the rates are so you're completely clear on how they charge you for table time, I've practiced by myself for a little over 30 mins and was charged for the hour. Ive also been overcharged on 'HOLIDAYS' (when I went it was Columbus day and was charged extra per hour) I was only going to give a one star review but I gave an extra star cause their food isn't bad, the beef quesadilla (8.50) is bomb, oh and their food isn't cheap either. read more

We checked in at 4:00 pm on the dot and even set a timer to stop 5 min before; we checked out at 4:55 and the lady at the front told us that she was charging us extra because we went over our time limit! This place is so ghetto, but yet a fine place to get some cold alcoholic beverages and do your best Minnesota Fat imitation on the pool table. Ghetto is being too kind, try the word "rundown" or if we don't want to beat around the bush..."old". I guess the Politically correct word is "vintage" or "landmark institution". Let's be frank, the place really need major renovations and need a huge touch up to make this a more inviting place. Since we are not in here for the looks, what about the atmosphere or amenities of this place? Well, they have some decent pool tables, pool sticks, and a Foosball table (more on that later). We have a self proclaimed "Guwapo Gangsta" in the midst of our group and he proceeded to look for Snoop Dogg or Warren G. in the jukebox to liven the Neil Diamond-esque atmosphere. I pretty much sucked at playing pool and was very rusty after a 6 years lay off from the game. However with two mugs of Fat Tire being drowned, my game improved drastically and I lost my inhibition to think about the game. Without thinking, I took more risks and making the shots that I had to think about much earlier in the game. The Foosball table was rigidity, but still an entertainment itself. The birthday boy challenged me for the final match. I was in the lead, but let him win. After all, it's his birthday and it would be messed up if I don't let him win. Yes, I know. This place is not a professional pool hall with regulation table for a real match. It's a dive with a simple shoot for fun in a rustic good ol' pool hall that Fast Eddie Felson would be proud of. This billiards is right down the street from me! Pool tables are in good condition, roughly 20 or so of them. Pool sticks are okay ... you gotta search for the straight ones like most pool halls or you can get their "house cues," which aren't special .. just stored behind the counter. White powder is not available! At least, I never asked. They're never offered or displayed for the public. Lights are bright, good for a pool shark. Overall - venue is pretty new, even though it been here for years! Beer available, no hard liquor. Stays open until 2am like most pool halls. CASH ONLY! No ATM inside! The nearest bank is a couple of blocks away. Small parking lot right next to and behind building in the alley, and you can easily park on the street. Prices are decent .. I believe its $9/hr at nights and $4 during the day before before 7pm. You can always call and accurately find out. They have your regular jukebox playing the popular jams. Food is available but I've never ordered from there. They have small game machines for you. My favorite: the babe picture hunt! Came here to kill some time before watching Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (which was terrible btw). It was an absolute scorching day in the middle of summer and we figured we could kill some time and play some pool and hide away from the heat. We were the only ones inside the pool hall around noon, and halfway through our playing the A/C turned off making it extremely hot inside. When we asked about it, he just shrugged his shoulders and said its on.
