This is one of my favorite cafes in Lancaster county. I'm in Quarryville a lot for work, and it's so wonderful to have a nice third space with delicious food and drinks to enjoy. It's in an old bank so it had a cute old timer feel. They also have little offices/nooks with desks which is perfect if you need somewhere to work. Their food is always delicious and fresh. The design of the place is really nice and cool that it was a bank. Staff were pleasant. I liked that there was a tiny toy kitchen setup for my toddler to play with. But the food was disappointing. The chocolate muffin was bland and stale and the breakfast wrap was very dry and the wrap itself tasted and felt stale. Would come back and try a lunch option since their menu looks very interesting and there's just not a lot of coffee shop options in Quarryville but if disappointed again I wouldn't waste any more money. read more

The pickles are god awful. Salty and then spicy hot. Did takeout and was less than five minutes away. One sandwich I purchased was supposed to come with fries. It didn't. I would love to see this place improve, as it is the only coffee shop of its kind for miles around. I'm afraid that's why it stays open and they can get away with some things. Overall, cute decor, good food, coffee and menu. The things I see as consistent problems are as follows: 1) the dated, dirty, STAINED matted floor covering (which clashes with the rest of the updated scheme). It speaks, "we don't care". 2) The pretty much ever present cloud of offensive smoke coming from kitchen. I've been there at times when it's so bad my eyes sting and you can taste it. Obviously a ventilation problem in kitchen. How does this pass inspection? 3) The staff are not friendly, and sometimes are downright rude. There's a " I could care less if you're here or not " vibe coming from everyone. All of these problems make me feel like the owners disrespect their customers b/c the problems are easy to fix: Spend some money on creating a pleasant environment ( get rid of carpet and smoke) and train your employees to be service minded- courteous, friendly and grateful for business. Then put something in place to keep them to a high standard. Your customers deserve better, and you can do better. read more

This is a step above the average in a small town. Good food and drinks, and they even freeze coffee for ice cubes! They have good sandwiches including paninis and wraps. The frozen chai is to die for (yes, with ice cream). My breakfast today was an everything bagel with a fried egg, cheddar and bacon - egg was medium and bacon crunchy, perfect! The home fries were cubes and flavorful, browned also to perfection! Iced coffee was great - who around here freezes coffee for their ice cubes?! Give this place a try! I'm sure it is hard to survive in a small town, but they are trying to do better than average, so please eat here! my favorite place to stop when driving from Lanc to Oxford for work! THE.BEST. scones - super light, fluffy, tasty and not dry! So good. And they're iced coffee is so super smooth- and they use coffee iced cubes so noo diluted iced coffee drinks -- win win!! Definitely need to check it out if you're in the area. read more

I don't get what's going on here. Ordered hot and iced coffee. The hot coffee was decent, I ordered the snickerdoodle iced and it tasted like chemicals. So gross. My husband got a bagel sandwich which was also good, I ordered a wrap and it was dry, and I bit into egg shell. The potatoes were plain, but good. I wouldn't be able to recommend this business. Alright food and cute atmosphere. Each time I've come I've felt kicked out and unwelcomed. Ive worked in the restaurant industry since I was 16 and I know how frustrating it is for customers to linger after closing when you want to leave. My friend and I were there until 3:56 when they close at 4 and they turned off all of the lights, scurried in the back and proceeded to lock the front doors before we could get up. The rudest experience I've had in a while. As frustrated as I've been in the past with customers, when I'm working at my restaurant, the least I would do is tell them politely, we're closed, and actually give them a chance to get up and out the door. In all honestly, if you choose to treat customers this way, I suggest not playing christian music. read more

They're very high prices here, and I certainly don't mind paying them, when there is an effort put into the food. This is their dried up avocado toast. A hunk of dried old toast, with slices of avocado on the top. No salt no pepper no anything. This is absolutely shameful for $6 this is like a $3 hunk of toast with a couple pieces of avocado on it and they charge you six bucks for it this is disgusting and I won't be back. Finally got food from here... not impressed. Got their "Avocado Toast" and it's literally just avocado sliced and put on top of toast- not mashed, no salt, no pepper, no lemon or lime juice, no olive oil or tomato- zero effort made- putting avocado on top of toast does not make it "Avocado Toast"! Don't put something on your menu that your cooks don't know how to make. Also got an egg and cheese on a croissant, and the top of the croissant was stodgy and dry- like someone who doesn't know how much moisture needs to go into making a croissant was practicing and they just served that. It's like they're trying to be trendy, but their execution is laughable. If all you know is SoLanCo fare then this might be considered good, but if you have lived outside of SoLanCo where bakeries and cafes have competition- then it's just disappointing. The Daily Grind or DG is the best coffee shop! I have gone here whilst on vacation and it's delicious every time! They use La Colombe coffee and espresso beans, which are roasted to perfection. The breakfast sandwiches are super fresh and tasty. I've personally had the bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel. The cheese was melty the bacon was crispy and the egg was seasoned with salt and pepper. The everything bagel is to die for! I really like that they put fennel seed in the bagel mix. Also, I've had the same combo on a croissant and the croissant is perfectly buttery and flaky. My iced coffee was so yummy that I would get a gallon if I could! I love that they freeze coffee into ice cubes as not to water down the iced coffee in your cup. This is my go to stop when visiting Quarryville the staple of southern lancaster county. read more

I got the house burger with no mushrooms, which comes with chips. It has roasted tomatoes, avocado, bacon, and house sauce. It's SO good. I definitely recommend giving this place a try! The inside is very calm and cute, there's also places to sit outside. Definitely worth a try! read more

There was a weird smell but I didn't see any fried food on the menu. The staff was not as attentive or welcoming rather on their phones. I was there at a slower time I suppose. This is I was so surprised with how sloppy the presentation of my omelet. The egg was a little hard for my taste and there were grease marks on the plate? I have eaten lunch here several times. It's a bit pricey and parking can be challenging at times; however, the food is consistently good. Made with fresh ingredients, the sandwiches are always good. The soups are tasty as well. Friendly staff. Order at the counter and go find a seat in one of the seating options they will find you. I love the coffee, the location, and the seating. However, the high school baristas are a major negative for me. There are a few great ones, but others are very immature. As a recent graduate, I recognize some faces. I've had a few make fun of me while drinking a coffee and reading on my own. It completely kills the idea of me going there, despite all the pluses here. It may have been a fluke experience but I think I'll wait to go back for a while. This place is probably best if you're a bit older and don't know as many younger kids in the town, or if you're getting something to go. First time there. Two ladies behind the counter were less than friendly but not totally rude. Iced coffee was literally terrible, had two sips and threw it away. To be fair though I tried a syrup (salty caramel) that I've never had anywhere else and I will never try it again - coffee could be good, syrup was definitely an acquired taste that I did not have. However, was there for 4 hours and did not have any distractions or annoyances. Ordered the chicken cordon bleu sandwich for lunch and it was DELICIOUS. Would go back again, definitely would not try the salty caramel syrup again though. read more

There's a lot of potential here, but they should really concentrate on the core of the business which is coffee. The coffee needs great improvement, perhaps they should have a professional barista come in and train on how to make a good coffee. Possibly learn about pour overs and just have a good solid americano every day. I really want them to succeed, they need to become obsessed with the perfect cup of coffee, and I speak from a lot of experience because I travel all over the country and have been too many many coffee houses. Have eaten here several times before and the food and coffee was very good but was very disappointed when we made a special trip to eat lunch here after hiking. We got there at 2:50 and although the menu clearly states lunch and dinner and hours are open until 8 pm, we were told the kitchen was closed at 3:00, when we mentioned that it was still only 2:50 we were again unapologetically and rudely told "the kitchen is closed". No where does it say this. They are doing their costumers a huge disservice. We used to drive from Maryland to eat here but will be finding a friendlier and more accommodating cafe that actually respects their customers. read more

More than just a coffee shop! Came here earlier today with my father for an impromptu lunch and was pleasantly surprised. He had a Cuban wrap, I had a panini, we both had the chicken corn chowder. The food was very tasty and the portions were more than adequate. I thought the soup could have been more bountiful with corn and chicken, but it too was flavorful. There was ample seating when we were there around 1pm with a choice of sofa, high-top tables, counter space, or a more traditional table. The staff were friendly and polite, serving our food rather than calling us to claim it. The place was clean and tidy, with a cozy atmosphere. I thoroughly enjoy the fact that this is a community space, evident by the promotions of local goings-on. The patio will be a great option in warmer weather! We had a very good experience dining here. My wife and two girls came here for breakfast and really enjoyed what was served. My breakfast sandwich was made fresh and you could taste it. Having a freshly cooked egg (not microwaved) on a sandwich makes a huge different. My daughters shared a fresh baked muffin and my wife had a sandwich as well. We also met with the owners and they were as nice and welcoming as could be. The only reason for the 4 stars is because of the seating layout of the building they are in. I know that they are new though and still working on the layout so I am sure this will be improved. I highly recommend stopping in and trying what they have to offer.
