I do not live close by, but will find any excuse to head this way and visit the Dairy Hut. My family and I love stopping in to either sit and eat at the outside tables or take our frozen treats to go. There's plenty of parking so it's easy to get in and out. Their portions are generous, and there are lots of topping/mix-in options to choose from. It's a popular place, so be prepared to wait if you're going on a particularly warm day, or if it's a Friday or Saturday evening. It's worth the wait though. Can't wait for our next visit! read more

This little ice cream shop has it going on! They are very organized with their drive thru order process, payment and pick up. They way they have it organized assures maintenance of social distancing without a mask which is great because as soon as you pick up your ice cream goodness you don't want to waste time taking your mask off to eat your sweet treat. The other bonus that I personally love is the variety of soft serve ice cream flavors beyond chocolate and vanilla. Plus the cone bears out all other ice cream cones. Dairy Hut is great! I had been years ago when I lived on the east side but given that we live on the west side now, I have not made it back out to have some delicious ice cream. That changed about a month or two ago. A ways into COVID quarantine, we decided to take a day trip out to Dairy Hut because why not? We didnt have anything else to do and I had a hankering for some great ice cream. I got the buckeye sundae because i mean chocolate and peanut butter, who can resist? It was as good as I remembered and I definitely am sad we live 45 mins away. However, it prob is a good thing for my waist line haha. I grew up with this place. The owners are very nice and so are the staff. They make the best chocolate malt shakes. The comet sauce is also very good. This is a seasonal joint. So they don't need the paved parking nor a fancy building. The proof is in the pudding, drive by it and it seems always packed. I do support local and buy local as much as I can. read more

I've lived in Pataskala for a little over two years and I remember seeing this place for the first time. I was on the way to Kroger and I saw the line of people standing outside this "hut." I thought to myself, "Ok, what's going on here? This is something that the locals must know about." And I made a mental note to myself to stop by the following day. After doing a little research, I discover that it was essentially an outside ice cream shop. How quaint! I took my family the following day and was pleasantly surprised with some of the best ice cream and sundaes that I've had in years. Of course, they serve other "concession stand" fare: hot dogs, nachos, etc. but the desserts are what the place is known for. As a Pataskala native, I can confirm how the Dairy Hut is a perfect stop for whatever you might be craving.. I recently tried the coney dog and was pleasantly surprised..if you come here you can expect delicious ice cream and other light meals such as hot dogs, nachos, etc..while the coney dog may not be Rudy's of Toledo comparison, it is perfectly fine for a hut in the middle of Pataskala OH..
