Dancing Bean remains our must stop coffee place when heading up to the mountains. Love the friendly service here, and the cozy ambiance. It wasn't yet cold enough to have the fire going, but I'm sure in a few more weeks, it'll be nice and toasty in there. My go to order is always their house coffee with the lavender syrup and my better half gets the iced chai. He says it's his favorite chai in all of Tennessee!! They always have a drinks specials board and some yummy baked goods in their case (muffins, danishes, and scones). I also love their little gifts that you can buy for home, such as the glazed coffee cups. Other perks, include a filtered water station and a plant swap station. 10/10 best coffee I have ever had and I'm not exaggerating. I came here every morning while on vacation in Townsend and nothing in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge could compare. The staff all were super friendly and gave great recommendations on the seasonal flavors and menu. This was our first time visiting. Inside you order at the register and they bring your food to your table. The drinks are self serve as well as condiments (as seen in the picture). We all had the Hog Wild BBQ Pulled Pork-Wich with fries, soda and sweet ice tea. The pork was great! Tender and tasty. The bun nice and soft. The fries & sweet tea were great. The condiment bar was too funny ( see pic). Easy to serve yourself. The bbq sauce was excellent. We took home some apple hand pies, which were awesome! Not impressed. The barista was not very friendly and the coffee was gross. She pulled the espresso shots directly into the plastic cup (which should never be done) and then hardly mixed the sugar in so when I got it the coffee was extremely grainy. I asked her to remake it and she clearly wasn't very happy about it. Then when she handed it to me she said "that's a stirred as I can get it." The place was cute but overall I can't say I'd recommend. read more

Cute, cozy coffee shop as you make it in to Townsend from the Maryville side. I got an Iced Mocha with peppermint, tasted just like a peppermint patty and hit the spot on a hot summer day. She got an Iced Caramel Buttered Brown Sugar latte and if you are a fan of butterscotch, this tastes just like those little candies your grandma would pull out of her pocket book at church in handfuls! We stopped by The Dancing Bean on our way to Treemont. We've been coming here for a couple years now when we pass through Townsend, TN. We (the wife and me) always get their lattes, the kids get iced mochas and bubble teas. My kids love their Bubble Tea which features a few flavored small bubbles to add a kick of flavor to the tea. Today was no different. Their iced mocha was on point according to my older kids. They rated it a 4.5-5.0 which doesn't happen often for them. For my wife and me, our hot lattes were flat. The espresso had a burnt taste but not nearly as bad as Starbucks. Overall we gave them a 3 out of 5. The pastries were great! We had coffee cake and a scone. My husband and I loved this coffee shop and it was the perfect place for us to spend some time relaxing. We were recovering from a very strenuous hike the day prior and were looking for a little pick me up and a place to let our legs rest. The Dancing Bean was the perfect place to stop as we were going to hit up the gift shop next door after. For beverages I enjoyed their cold brew coffee while my husband sipped on their ginger kombucha. Both beverages hit the spot and were just what we needed for some refreshing energy. We enjoyed relaxing on their comfy chairs and reading one of their cookbooks that they have for sale. If you are hungry they have a selection of bakery treats to choose from which looked delicious. 5 stars for beverages + 3 stars for food = 4 stars. I ordered a hazelnut later which they didn't have, so I got the black walnut latte as suggested and it was excellent. Hubby got a tropical smoothie which immediately brought me back to our Hawaii trip and was fabulous! We tried the crustless quiche which was in the refrigerated case and heated up- just ok, nothing special. The large cinnamon roll, even heated up, was hard on the outside. It was more of a bread with cinnamon and icing poured over it. The river chewie was a p-nut butter blondie brownie that was pretty taste. Would get the brownie again but not the others. The decor was really nice with spots on the front and back porch to enjoy your coffee. The wifi required you to put in your email so I didn't try it. Overall, coffee and smoothies again? Yes! We came across this cute mountain coffee shop just in time as I was wanting a pick me up. I love the decor and unique drink choices here. Get this... they have spiked coffees as well. My husband opted for the white chocolate Russian. He said it was like a 5 hour energy with a shot of vodka. He is not a coffee drinker but he liked this sweet concoction. It had a shot of espresso with white chocolate, vodka and whipped cream. I bought a white chocolate s'mores iced latte. I don't do a very sweet coffee so I explained that I would like it half sweet or less. Unfortunately, although tasty - it was still way too sweet for me. I regret not asking them to remake as I couldn't drink it. I am still giving 4 stars because the service was good, atmosphere lovely, clean restrooms, and the choices here are unique. However, if you don't like a sweet coffee drink, be very clear and know the drinks here are for the sweet coffee fan. I have no doubt I could have had my perfect coffee here, but we got on the road after I realized it was made too sweet for me. My husband however, loved his sweet concoction. read more

Ah the Dancing Bean. Saving my migraine one latte at a time. I knew I would get a migraine if I didn't have my caffeine today & it's a Sunday. We are visiting from out of town & stopped at the welcome center desperately begging "WHERE CAN WE GET SOME COFFEE?" The very nice woman explained to my clearly uncaffinated self how simple it was to get to the Dancing Bean. We made our way down the road & finally saw the little shop in all its glory. Shinning like a Diamond after the longest day of miners life (but really I don't joke about my coffee). So we went up & I ordered a pumpkin latte with a chocolate scone. I wish I had a picture but I ate it too fast. So yummy, so polite & so cute. Very homey feel to the little shop. Lots of pastries & baked good! Also all kinds of flavor add in choices !
