AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! EVERYBODY WANTS TO MOVE AFTER EXPERIENCING THIS PLACE!!!!! Absolutely unacceptable experience with this apartment complex and its staff. My friend's car was wrongfully towed, costing her time, money, and unnecessary stress, and management's response was to laugh at her and treat the entire situation like a joke. No accountability, no urgency, no professionalism -- just complete disrespect toward the people paying to live there. What makes it worse is that this complex heavily targets students, who are already under enough pressure financially and academically. Instead of helping resolve an obvious mistake, staff were dismissive, rude, and acted inconvenienced that a resident even brought up the issue. It honestly felt like they cared more about avoiding responsibility than doing the right thing. If this is how they handle serious problems, I can only imagine how they deal with maintenance issues, safety concerns, or anything else residents might need help with. Management should be embarrassed by the way they treat people. The Damier in Pomona is honestly not it. From the moment you walk in, everything feels outdated and poorly maintained. The apartments are surprisingly small for the price you're paying, and the hallways have a strange smell throughout the building. The lobby bathroom was especially concerning since it smelled like sewage. On top of that, the front office staff was not very welcoming or helpful after seeing how they engaged with some people. It felt like they didn't really know what they were talking about and mostly gave vague runaround answers instead of clear information. Overall, definitely not what I expected and I've heard that from multiple residents. read more

Nice staff that make you feel welcome. I enjoy the convenience of printing for free and Krista is very fast at taking printing requests. Esmeralda and Joe are also nice, hardworking people. Maintenance crew are also very nice, honest people (which is good to know for repairs in the apartment) Just the occasional water shut offs, washing machine/dryers not working, and elevators breaking down every once in a while are the things to look out for. No AC in the stairwell and hallways make summer pretty bad too, which is during move in time. I wish the owners would invest in AC there because it gets really stuffy, and living in a room next to them also is a downside. Overall, I have enjoyed my 2+ years living at the daumier. read more

I don't know why this place has gotten bad reviews. I have been here for two years and plan on staying for the next two. I lived in other apartments during, and by far this has been the better choice. I'm a vet student staying at one of the 2 bedroom rooms, and it's very spacious (don't let pictures make you think otherwise). My fiancé and I live in the bedroom, and we haven't had a problem with space! It's the most affordable option, and you get your own bathroom. You are responsible for only your room (only share electric bill). Your roommate forgets to pay, it's not your problem! As for the internet issue, I have NOT had any issue, especially during online classes (Covid classes). We do get notices when water or gas will get shut off, usually 1-2 weeks ahead. Other places I stayed gave me 1 day or no notices. The courtyard is a great place to hangout, especially in the summer nights! The grill area is my personal favorite since I like night-time bbq. The staff have been helpful, even though I bombarded them with emails when I first moved. The maintenance staff is quick; they come that day or early the next day. Basically, I like this place! The front desk and staff are really friendly and make it worth living here as well as the convenience. The maintenance crew is also very friendly. The price is pretty high. The entire year including move in day they don't have air conditioning in the hallway or the stairwell. The lack of air conditioning in the stairwell also makes the rooms next to them heat up and increase the electricity bill super high for no reason while others pay less. The coffee machine is constantly down. Mail can't be sent past 6pm or on weekends. Today, there's a Christmas parade and I'm trapped here without warning because they didn't let us know that we would be blocked off for it. The internet sometimes goes down for a while which is a bit inconvenient since we all live there because we're in school and need it and it doesn't help that the school one also isn't amazing. Overall, these stars are for the wonderful staff. Whoever owns this building needs to make a lot of improvements. read more

A decent place to live, but only if you're a DO. This complex gives little care for other programs. Among my numerous complaints about this poorly managed complex, the inequity has to be my greatest issue. You are required to pay the entire amount of rent during July even though they kick you out on the 18th (a THURSDAY) at 5pm. Their reasoning is that "all of the programs that live in complex have already ended." My program, as well as two others are still in session and I was forced to be out on my you-know-what in the middle of the week. Turns out what they really meant is "The DO program is on summer and we don't really care about the rest of you." Don't even get me started on the mail situation. Do not forward your mail because you will never be able to re-forward after moving out because they are a business address. Their recommendation for getting mail after move out is to "call each place/person you receive mail from individually to tell them your new address" because you won't be able to do it through USPS due to their business status. This should have been disclosed before move-in, but they withhold that information just to keep you on your toes!!! Rooms are small and overpriced. Just move across the street to the Helix where it's cheaper and bigger. This brings me to the parking situation. Free parking is included in your rent at the Daumier, however, their two lots are full of a ton of random cars without passes. Even though the parking pass states that it is valid until the end of the month of July, they take them from you at move out day and so kindly remind you that they will tow your vehicle should you ever park there again. What's even scarier are the parking lots themselves. Can't forget about the shooting in the Daum's parking lot on move-in weekend. Luckily, my car was not one of the many that were broken into throughout the year. Hopefully you're not planning to spend time in your apartment because the internet goes out at least twice a day and the hot water had multiple problems throughout the year. There were some days where there was no water at all. Couldn't even flush a toilet. SO if you're planning on living at the Daum, know that you will be taken advantage of, but hey, at least you'll be close to campus. If you make it past move-in day without a migraine and a deep concern for the Daumier's ability to plan effectively, then hats off to you. I literally had to make a yelp account just for this so please take these things into consideration while making your housing decision. read more

Daumier is a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars: "good" rating. The good: proximity to campus (campus security is very close) roommate matching system everyone in the bldg is a student all bills paid by Daum, except electricity (which is ~20/mo for the entire apt, using the central AC all day only raised electricity by ~10/mo) staff are very nice maintenance is really fast, kind, and competent the building is very clean good, fast wifi nice amenities: laundry rooms, study rooms, gym, coffee & lounge If you get locked out in the middle of the night, they have students who work as 24/7 assistant managers living at the Daum who can help you re-open your place. The bad: Over the past 2 years, we've had ~3-4 water shut-offs per year. This past year, we also had a hot-water shut-off for 4-5 days in a row. The ceilings are thin, my first year I get woken up every day my the guy stairs and random jump-scares throughout the day from loud noises upstairs. How thin are they? You can hear the closet door of the guy upstairs open every time (they're on roller tracks). There's a 1.5 inch gap below your door to the living room, so if you have a roommate you can hear them from their room if they talk loudly (with both your doors closed). Neighborhood isn't very nice, but not too unsafe at night as long as you use street-smarts. For ~3 weeks around July 4th and New Years, people in the neighborhood randomly pop off really loud fireworks that wake me up throughout the night. Last night got woken up at 3am, lasted for ~30min. The ugly: If you're at the 777 Apts-side of the building, you can only enter via 3rd St. from the Helix Apts-side of the bldg (the backgate to Parking lot A is a one-way gate for security reasons); in addition, the 2 elevators are both on that front side of the building. Parking lot A is close, Parking lot B is a lot farther (5min walk). The pool area is nice, but it also attracts really loud partying that goes until ~11pm during the summers (when they finally get kicked out; the assistant managers are getting better at quieting them, I just wish there's be a rule for quiet hours after 10pm). read more

DO NOT LIVE HERE. They rip you off and find every way to screw you. If I could give 0 stars I would. From move in to move out it was a headache. Also, the staff is consistently unhelpful. First of all, during move in weekend they would not let me use a dolly because "it was a Sunday" on MOVE IN WEEKEND. So I had to hire people to move all my stuff because of course I got an apartment the farthest away from the elevator. DON'T FORWARD YOUR MAIL HERE. What they fail to tell you when you're moving in/signing leases, is that once you move out there is NO WAY to forward your mail to your new address because they are a business address. So you won't get any of your mail after move out because it will be sent back to the sender. And the staff's response? "nothing we can do". We pay for the entire month of July but then they kick you out 2 weeks before the month is ending WHILE DURING OUR SEMESTER and will not pro-rate you at all. AND you have the parking permit until the end of July but won't let you use it after move out either. Only "certain students" (AKA D.O. students) are allowed to stay til the end of July. Apparently you need to "petition" to stay through the full amount that you paid, yet when we did this we got a "NO" of course. If hell on earth was saturated in one place it would be here. I honestly recommend living at one of the other apartment complex. Instead of fixing actual problems tenets/students have they try to put up fake "niceness" with random snack. Like no Karen, I need the wifi to work when I'm in the middle of finals or to get the crack on the floor that has been here before I move in floor fixed. Literally the things I've witnessed here could be written into a book. If I got a dollar for every car I have seen get broken into in THEIR parking lot I would have enough to drive to Chino Hills and buy myself KBBQ. Just this year I actually witnessed a lady take defecate herself right in front of this apartment's side walk! It probably took a month until the rain finally washed away the feces and even now I can see the remnants of it. Seriously save yourself the trouble and try the Helix or 777 next door. read more

My experience at the Daum in my almost three years (so far) living here has been great. The staff are all hard working and welcoming and is easy to strike up a conversation with. The maintenance staff are excellent and kind (s/o to Sharelle!!) and make sure the building looks and smells great. Free access to pool, free laundry, free printing, free access to study rooms, fun resident appreciation events, and utilities (except electricity) are paid for. It's an exceptional place for you and your pets to live that's right on campus! read more

This place may look like an ideal place but it's a nightmare. They look for reasons to take advantage of you for your money even though they know we're students and almost all rely on loans. They made a bunch of us move out in the middle of our final month even though we paid for the full month....I even remember calling them before I moved in to make sure this wouldn't be a problem and they reassured me that it wouldn't. Straight. Up. Lies. Right in the middle of finals we had to worry about where in the world we would have to live for a week unless we forked up $300-500 (depending on which unit you've rented) in addition to having already paid for the full month. Their excuse? You're paying in installments, not a monthly rent payment so any extra time needs to be paid for. The appliances were so old and dirty when we first moved in they were falling apart. When we put in a work order they charged US an arm and a leg for replacements when we had been there for less than 2 months and obviously were not the ones who caused the damage. The water went out pretty often considering we were only living there for a year. The water quality was so poor that my roommate and I would double filter it and still feel uncomfortable drinking and even showering because of all the sediment. For reference, our filters would turn red every few weeks and we'd have to get new ones. They closed the trash room the ENTIRE two weeks of move out dates so we couldn't throw ANYTHING out without going to the outside of the building. No excuse for that one. Unreal. They have activities and food for the tenants frequently but honestly, I'd replace that with more understanding of what students actually need and want especially when it comes to not cheating us out of our money for their advantage. You know there's something wrong when even maintenance complains about how cheaply the entire place was made and run. Even after they kicked a bunch of us out in middle of our final month, they asked for our parking permits which were valid until the end of the month. They had expiration dates on them and everything so we obviously couldn't use them past when our move out date should have been... but they still wouldn't let us keep them. They wouldn't even process our move out until we handed it to them. When asked why and what they'd even want with old parking permits that expire in 2 weeks they said nothing, they just needed to shred them. So no place to live or even park right in the middle of finals week.....cool. Positives: The coffee machine (when it was working), free laundry and the gym. read more

My cat loves living here (I do too). It is perfect for being right on campus and the staff rocks. They ALWAYS have cat treats ...and dog treats... to give the pets. There is great study locations and even the pool has wifi. It is always clean and work orders come through super quick. It has such a positive environment and community. Moving here from out of state, the Daumier was the perfect choice for me. Not only is it safe, it's a great way to meet other people outside of the program you're in. You might think it's pricey but you get what you pay for and to be honest, I would argue it is the only safe place within walking distance to campus. The places nearby are a LITTLE bit cheaper but you run the risk of break-ins, feeling unsafe, etc. (a girl in my program lives in the apartment complex nearby and her place got broken into.) If I haven't sold you yet, the laundry is free, the cable and internet is free, there is a gym on the first floor, there are study rooms located on EVERY floor and the building is always SO clean and well taken care of. The cherry on top? The staff. They are wonderful and make you feel "at home" as a resident here. I can guarantee you that you will not regret your decision to live here. read more

We had a great move-in day. The front office was very organized, they have carts ready for all the movers and prior to the move in, all the students receive their room #s beforehand and instructions where to get the key and what to expect on move in day. The 1BR upstairs we moved in is super clean, from the kitchen, flooring to bathroom, bedroom, as well as the hall ways. My dog loves to come visit & he can peak through the windows, there's side views of the pool & nice plants downstairs. There's also a long stretch on the side of the building for dogs to walkaround. The office also nice sitting areas with table, chairs & sofas, we had our lunch there on Move in day. There's also Espresso machine for everyone to enjoy which we absolutely love it. Last weekend, they put out the popsicles. Love this place! read more

If you are a first year, especially from out of state I would live here. It is a great way to connect with your classmates and plan hangouts. Super convenient for school. You will have a lot of little breaks and you wish you had a bed to go back to. Here are some downsides: Way over priced for the surrounding area. Much more affordable housing at 777, Helix or Monterey Station. The apartments here are freakishly SMALL. Walls are thin. You can hear everyone and everything near by. They let you sign to a unit but don't be fooled because the unit is NOT yours. They give you a limited list of people (5-10) to pick as your roommate but they don't even give you enough time to meet the other person and get to know them. You basically move in with a random person. You are not allowed to choose your unit either. They will randomly place you in one. They will pair you with someone who has a child or pet, and you can't do anything about it. As a student, dealing with someone else's child or pet is NOT okay. Utilities are mostly included (internet too) but the internet is really slow and there is no reception in the building. Even though most utilities are included, electricity is not. AC and stove in these units run on electricity. Units are freakishly small so the the bill is never really that bad. Laundry is free but the machines are very small and barely fit bedding. They are almost always taken and have mold and hair in them. I have to run them empty once at least before I put my own clothes in them. If you live on the first two floors, you will definitely find pet hair too. Their 1 bedroom can't be considered a 1 bedroom. There is no door for the bedroom. Just a small living space and kitchen that lead into an even smaller space where a bed barely fits. It is basically a studio. The studios up the street at Monterey station are larger and cheaper. Your parking is outdoor and it's NOT safe. People get their cars broken into all the time. I say this again, the parking lots ARE NOT SAFE even though there are security guards that circle them every once in a while. THERE WAS A SHOOTING IN LOT A just in Aug of 2018. You are lucky if you get a room on the elevator side of the building. LOT A is always full because they don't do a very good job at keeping the lot clear from students who shouldn't be parking there. Out of the 4 sides of the building, there is only 1 side that has an elevator and one side with an entry. Parking lot is actually on the opposite sides of the entrances. So getting from the parking lot to your apartment is a long walk, especially if you got unlucky and got an apartment on the opposite side of elevators and entrances. The maintenance staff is very nice and helpful but I can't say the same for the girls in the front. You really have to bug them to get anything done. The staff is not very transparent. They will do their best to hide details to the best of their ability. No real solutions ever come from talking to the staff, unless it is maintenance. I agree with the poster below about the administration being shady. Was told to renew my lease or else I would lose priority parking; apparently the priority parking lot was already full. The week later when I told them I would not be renewing my lease because they could not let me park in the safe parking lot, they then said, "Oh, there's still available parking. Perhaps you heard me wrong last week." NO I DIDNT HEAR YOU WRONG. The people at the front desk are really unprofessional as well. Rude customer service and they always tell you they will "get back to you" and then end up never solving any problems. Took about 2 months for them to even contact me about my plumbing complaint. They are so hard to contact, they are always unavailable when you need them, they never answer emails, and they treat their residents with unacceptable attitudes. read more

Personally I believe the Daumier two bedroom apartment is the best deal (though a little on pricey side) Each room has a full bathroom , the kitchen is a great size,living room includes a tv and also free laundry machines!I am only giving 3stars due to the security in the parking lots, there have been quite a few break-ins this year. The Daumier is a great place to live! The living space and common areas are super nice and clean. The staff are amazing and are just a call away if you ever need anything. They also have monthly events with food and activities to just have fun and relax because they understand the stresses we students are undergoing. This place has gone downhill since management has changed. Respect for tenants has been lost, and rash decisions are made in illogical, unfair manners. Would not recommend living here unless you are desperate & really want to be on campus all the time. Rent is VERY expensive for a poor location and so NOT worth the hassle you may experience dealing with management or even with potential roommate problems. Parking lot is not safe, I know people that have gotten cars broken into/tires stolen. Not to mention the several shootings that have occurred behind the building. I had an overall positive experience living at The Daumier, but not without issue. When it came time for me to move-out, I had many meetings with the management about my situation and thought we were all taken care of. I came to find out later that no one knew anything about the conversations I had with the staff. This year, after leaving the Daumier, I went back to talk to the management to settle the issues. The new Director, Kirk, was really helpful with trying to figure out the situation. In the end, the new Director looked at everything and proposed an equitable and fair solution to the issues. read more

The 24/7 open gym is very much appreciated, but don't expect it to become your primary gym if you've had memberships to other more fully fleshed out gyms. Move-in day left a terrible first impression. The AC unit was broken, drains were clogged, they even assigned me to the wrong room. Yet, even with the hectic day, the staff was quick to send somebody up to repair everything. They've flipped my initial feelings by 180. It's not perfect, but they are accommodating. read more

For the past 4 years, I've been in college housing with other roommates, and I personally think that the one bedroom is the perfect size for a first apartment on your own. Although it's on the expensive side for apartments in the area, the amenities included in addition to the fact that I'm a 4-minute walk from my classes makes a huge difference. The only problem was when I first moved in because I requested to move in on July 23rd, months prior. However, I found out in the beginning of July that the lady I talked to was on vacation and didn't leave any note about my early move-in date. I was placed in a room in which the old tenant didn't move out until July 28th so I had to move in the next day, on my birthday no less, and the apartment was very dirty. It took a few hours of cleaning before I felt comfortable moving in all my furniture. All in all, I love this place. The BBQs are always in good condition (I enjoy cooking) and the small gym is perfect for working out after class. I put in 6 work orders at once one time and 5 of them were completed within 2 days. The front desk staff is also extremely nice and has occasional events for the residents. I would recommend this apartment complex to anyone wanting to move on campus for their first year of graduate school. read more

This is a very shady place that only cares about itself and their money. They have had an incredible amount of problems and delays. 1. When we moved in, the pool area was closed for over a month. 2. Gym didn't open until 2 months later and it still didn't have any TVs working. 3. We had an ant infestation problem. 4. They had a situation where they fumigated the room of a student with a pet. The pet was sick and hospitalized for months. 5. Internet took a solid 4 months to be fixed. 6. Cable was not installed until 2 months after we moved in. 7. Staff during Halloween laughed off the fact that someone left a real severed goat's head in one of the elevators. 8. Installing a card reader to enter through the South door took over 4 months of arguments between tenants and administration. 9. Recently the administration played a switch-bait game where they told us to renew by certain date and get a discount to then contact us a few days later telling us it was first-come-first-serve (which the advertisement didn't) say and now the prices were going up unless we signed that day at that time. Very, very shady place. Students should stay away. Move to Helix or anywhere else instead. read more

I have lived here for over 18 months, and even though the price is high, you get what you pay for (or loans pay for). The gym, laundry, and maintenance is all covered. Someone like myself who likes to focus on his studies with as little BS as possible this is the most convenient place to be. The front desk and all of the employees are great, I would suggest making an effort to get to know them. They are helpful with any and all things ... there hasn't been a time where I asked for something and it did not get taken care of. After reading through the other reviews and living here for two years I thought I would put in my 10 cents about living here. Overall, I have lived in 3-4 different apartment complexes in my life. I would rank this among one of the better ones. I want to give a few positives, negatives and just an overall review of living here. Negatives: Rent is pretty expensive. If you're looking for something cheap, you can find house in the surrounding area for much cheaper in a safer place. This includes houses in Chino Hills, Claremont or other surrounding areas. Cars getting broken into: This is if you're stupid and leave stuff in your car. I've been here for two years and the only time someone entered my car was because I left something in the back and had my window cracked. That was my own fault, and if you live off campus, realize that you're going to have to pay for a parking spot, may not get a spot on the daily, and you're just as likely to have it broken into. I have friends that live off campus who have stuff stolen (because they left things in there). Other than that, people will steal the spare off the back of your car, just need to buy a lock or a protector and you're past that issue. Addressing the sketchy staff that was talked about in previous reviews: I have heard of some things that seem sketchy, but there are always two sides to an issue. Know and understand the legal process, be informed as a renter, and you can avoid any misunderstandings other individuals have had. I highly recommend this for anywhere you live. My interactions with the staff have been great, there have been a few I disliked that didn't understand a good business model, but I've noticed they quickly were replaced. I have had instances where I've been "told" that I wouldn't get a spot for parking in their better parking lot because I didn't resign quick enough, but after communicating my issues and talking with them, everything was settled. Positives: Staff - Everyone is extremely friendly and issues get resolved quickly. I put in tickets and the next day (unless its a weekend) everything will be fixed. I feel like I am living in a place with friends that just crack jokes but can get down to business when they need to. It's always the same 5-6 people, so you'll get to know them quickly! Location - you're right on campus, so anything you need is at your fingertips on the daily process. If you need to change, cook, sleep, eat, shower. It's all within a 5 minute step from school. Amenities - everything runs and works perfectly. If something doesn't, they're quick to fix it. IF you let them know there is an issue. Living Situation - You're living with people that go to WesternU. So the community is amazing and you meet great friends. You're a close drive to all of the fun places other people live and overall you'll have a great experience. Outside of that, every place you live is going to have issues, but I've found that the ones here are bearable, and I've ultimately enjoyed the lifestyle of living here. read more

I agree completely with the other negative review. Living right next door to my classes is GREAT - dealing with all of the other nonsense at this apartment complex is not. I too had a problem with my dishwasher. It took them a month just to get someone from GE to come look at it. The repairman said he needed to order a part, it would be a week and he'd come back and fix it. FINALLY, after seven weeks, they replaced my dishwasher with a functional one from another unit. In addition, there is an electrical problem in the ceiling light in my living room. I put in a maintenance request in early August - it's STILL not fixed. Plus the office staff just told me the maintenance guy quit a few days ago, so I guess nothing's getting fixed for a while. In addition, they seemed thoroughly unprepared for people to move into the building. It's not uncommon for new buildings to have snags, but they acted like it was a surprise that all of these people were moving in. The earliest day we could move in was July 25th. There was no mail service until mid-August, no internet until late August (they piggy-backed on the school's system until then, which was incredibly slow and unreliable), the fitness equipment didn't come until late August, and the cable service is awful - missing a lot of (IMO) really standard channels and is frequently non-functional. Lastly, it's difficult to get anything resolved because the two women they have working in the front office are terrible. One is completely clueless and the other is passive-aggressive. I lived here for 1.5 years and for the most part things were fine. Until the AC broke in our unit in the summer and they took their sweet time getting someone to come fix it. They had to get someone to come in 4 different times and they never fixed the problem. As a 4th floor unit the temp in our apartment was 90 degrees aka it was impossible to live there, we had to pay to stay somewhere else until they fixed it (which was never). They did not care one bit, didn't offer any discount (AC is part of rent and it was broken for 4 months....) and the front desk staff/admin was beyond rude about the whole situation. Basically don't live here because they are not considerate AT ALL and will rob you of your money. I spent over $4000 on rent at an apartment which I could not live in and that couldn't figure out a simple AC unit issue (which is included in my rent cost). At the end of 65 phone calls back and forth, they were oh so generous enough to knock out $25 off ONE month of rent or something ridiculous like that. Don't waste your time. read more

Living at the Daumier this year has been great. The staff is incredibly friendly and loving. If you ever have a problem, you put in a work order and they get to it right away. The gym and mail system is great and everything is very clean. But my favorite part about living at the daum is the convenience to campus. I always feel safe living at the daum due to constant security. You also can't beat leaving 5 minutes before class starts and being able to go home to eat lunch every day. I would no doubt recommend living at the Daumier to any incoming first years at WesternU. read more

I have been living here for about 6 months now and it's really convenient being super close to school and being able to come back for lunch everyday! I love how the front desk people are always so nice and friendly and leave snacks for us. The only downside is the internet that is super spotty. Otherwise I love it here read more

The only reason we are giving this place 3 stars is because of Priscilla and the maintenance lady. Priscilla is the ONLY one who will actually fight to get things done that you request and she is super nice but unfortunately she is limited by management. The maintenance lady is bright, friendly, and always in a good mood and she does a great job! Now for the negatives: This place is awful. From the second I stepped in my room i knew it was going to be a nightmare. My room did not have a breakfast bar like shown online, therefore all of the space for cabinets was gone. The layout of the building is terrible. There are two elevators located on the same side of the building so if you live on the back side of the complex it is going to be a FUN move! The internet is the WORST PART ABOUT THIS PLACE!! It is included with the cost of rent but it does you no good. It would be faster to send a carrier pigeon to deliver information. This was super frustrating as a student that needs internet access pretty much ALL THE TIME to get work/studying done. Cable TV has limited channels and goes in and out. (didn't care about this so much but just another thing that is annoying about this place). There is no warning for when staff might come into your room so just be aware. Apparently this was something that we signed in the lease but I really felt uncomfortable with people coming into my room with no notice and without me being there. Laundry is free but the text to inform you when your laundry is done is STILL not set up after living here for a year. Beware because the things they say are included in rent are normally not set up, don't work properly, or is just simply not true. Smoke detectors go off all the time for no apparent reason. The list goes on and on. We strongly recommend living off campus even if it is a 10 minute drive. The convenience of this place is not worth the continuous headache that you will have to deal with. School is hard enough you do not need to throw a stressful living situation on top of it. read more

First off, you will find that I don't have any other reviews. I created a new account to protect my identity and prevent retaliation from this institution. I STRONGLY suggest looking at other places to live. The only positive point to living here is being on campus and being able to go home for lunch or grab something you forgot to bring to class. One other positive point is Shirelle, the maintenance lady. She's amazing. Reasons for not living here: 1) The building owners are here for themselves. This place is not student friendly. There are only 2 study rooms per floor for a building full of students. The security in the parking lots are inadequate, there have been numerous reports of break ins, people being approached by strangers (non-friendly ways), and generally no empathy for people who have to park in the far lot. There isn't even a forum for other tenants to communicate, sell/buy furniture/books or offer their lease for transfer. (There is an unofficial FB page but that gets inundated by complaints). 2) Security is not enforced in the building. There are people coming in and out the building at all times, sometimes solicitors at doors, other students stealing coffee or random people at the pool. The building people do not ensure those are tenants and do not enforce the use of key cards. 3) if you ever plan on going away for a clinical rotation, you will never be able to break your lease and if you do, you have to jump through hoops and pay an incredible amount of fees. (60 day written notice + 60xdaily rate + 30% of your remaining balance) 4) You can transfer your lease to someone else but they will not help you. 5) If they need to fix anything in your apartment or in the building, it will take a really long time, despite polite requests for updates. 6) Although the maintenance lady is nice, there is one person cleaning the entire building, including the gym. Trust me, I've seen people sweat and spar barefoot all over the mats. There were even instances of seeing small worms on the mats. Why have I not complained to the front desk? Because I'm tired of nothing getting done and I don't want them to retaliate. 7) Once you've signed a lease, good luck getting any attention. They will literally tell you they are busy and to come back or email them; but once a potential tenant appears, they will come out of the office to greet them and tend to them. In front of you. 8) There are nice apartments in neighboring cities that provide bigger apartments for comparable or less rental fees. The drive won't be that bad and it'll be worth it in the end, especially considering all the fees they like to tack on to your lease here. This place is convenient but Pomona sucks. It's dangerous to walk alone to your car or even around campus sometimes. Those pops you will hear at night won't be fireworks. read more
