If I could give this establishment less than 1 star I would. We unlike most people had a table with bottle service on the rooftop. The DJ was on another level. She could not read the room, could not play a song for more than 30 seconds and constantly shifting genres. So a friend suggested I go to see his cousin, whom was playing. The banner I was sent said opens at 6, show starts promptly at 7. Got here at 6 and myself and 2 others were sent out. I also had been texting their WhatsApp and for clarification they said the event was not free but $15 ticketed event. I went and got cash, came back and at 6:30 I was told not to be inside until it starts at 7. 6:45 comes by and a lady started taking tickets. The bouncer said I could then go inside. I finished a swig of water in a personal closed container. It's 105° out in NYC this day and got stay hydrated but the bouncer took what water I had left and poured it out. I paid $10, and told the lady I was told on the WhatsApp number by the owners that they told me $15. "I guess there what happens when you're hot outside," was the response back to me. Fake tropical plants everywhere, like someone tried to recreate a Miami club from a Pinterest board and forgot that the appeal is that the plants are actually alive. The effect is unsettling, not lush. The DJs looked like hired actors standing behind a controller. When I asked about the subwoofers, they had no idea what I was talking about. The sound system is genuinely terrible. It sounds like you are inside a tin box. For a venue billing itself as a club, that is a hard failure at the one thing a club actually has to get right. I don't understand how the ratings are so low for this place. I made reservations for 40 people for a wedding after party and they held my reservation and made sure we were accommodated properly when we were arrived even though we got there a little late from the wedding. I've actually been here a few times for private birthday parties. Once downstairs in the back room and another time upstairs in the patio. Both times I had a great time. Loved the vibes and different atmosphere. The patio is super nice, wide open spaces with ample seating and attentive bar and staff. It gets kind of loud there, so don't expect classy intimidate conversations. This is the type of place you get loud and drunk with a large group of folks. The downstairs has a private area where it's a giant room with a bar in the back. No seating though, so you're standing. The service here isn't as good as the bar is pretty small and I don't think there's wait staff or anyone to serve you, so you have to order at the bar and the lines and wait get pretty long because of it. Based on my conversations with the hosts, the drink spend minimum is pretty high. We packed both spots up to the brim with a bunch of thirsty socializers and I think both times we barely missed the target. I guess that's just part of the price you pay to booking a private venue in NYC. I would definitely recommend this place though overall and have your guests buy cocktails only read more

My friend had her birthday party booked at the Delancy on the Roof. It should of been a special night for her but instead it was the worst night of her life. The staff was rude and the bathroom line bouncer treated her like shit when she was on line to go to the bathroom. Flashing the flashlight in her face and yelling at her. She was so insulted that she left the party early. She didn't even stay long enough to have her birthday cake. Some of her guests stepped out for fresh air and they weren't even allowed back in. It took them 1 hour before they were allowed back inside. I am disgusted on how everyone was treated. I would not recommend having a party there at all. I recently visited The Delancey on Friday night to celebrate a friend's birthday, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. Upon arrival, there was immediate confusion regarding our reservation. We were directed to the rooftop and seated, only to realize after about 30 minutes that we had been placed on the wrong level. Once this was clarified, instead of being promptly accommodated, we were told to go downstairs and wait in line to enter the correct floor--even though management was fully aware of the earlier mistake and the time we had already spent inside. After finally getting to the correct level, we were met with an unpleasant, foul odor that made the environment uncomfortable. To make matters worse, the bar staff were unhelpful and came across as rude when we asked basic questions about drink pricing and bottle service. We also noticed inconsistencies in cocktail pricing between the rooftop and the lower level, which felt misleading and off-putting. After spending over an hour there, we ultimately decided to leave. The lack of service, poor communication, and overall atmosphere fell far below expectations. Additionally, the crowd skewed much younger than anticipated, with a more casual, college-party vibe. Our group had come dressed for a more upscale, "grown and sexy" night out, so the mismatch in ambiance was another disappointment--especially given that we were celebrating a birthday. I think it's interesting as a performance venue which was on the roof because there patio lounge chairs. With the bulkiness it doesn't allow for a ton of seating, and really the best spot to view the performances given the small stage is right in front of the stage (which is a small platform), rather than the sides. One of my friend went up to the bar to get some drinks and the bar tender behaved super weird with her. Perhaps she mistook her for another brown girl and accused her of being very a rude customer, who hasn't tipped well all night. My friend tried clarifying that it wasn't her but was of little help. Perhaps all we brown people look the same ‍ We later complained to the manager and they did apologize for the mix up. Overall it was a disappointing experience. I officially only want to go out if I can dance and, guess what? YOU CAN DANCE HERE. I met some friends here for late drinks and had an absolute blast. The upstairs is pretty calm. There's tons of seating, you can actually talk and hear your friends and another substantial bar. Downstairs is more of the crowded bar feel. Never too far from another person or group, toes getting stepped on and lots of dancing. The average age was on the young side, 23-25 but I had an amazing time shaking my butt and dancing with friends. They have a coat check for which is always nice and if you do use them, I recommend taking a picture of your ticket incase you lose it. (That is honestly just good advice for all future coat rooms everywhere). I would recommend if the above vibe is what you're looking for and you don't mind the youngins. read more

Been here numerous times and this review is way past due. No dull moments here. The 3 levels are such a change of vibe and energy in the place. The downstairs is a hit or miss depending who is DJing. The main floor is already buzzing usually with the DJ and the rooftop has a nice scenery, good to sit back and chill (hardly ever go up there). I like that the place had a space for everyone.
