We stayed here a little while back for a wedding and had a great time. The wedding itself was beautiful and the room was one of the nicer that I've experienced in the area. The hotel is extremely well appointed and it looks like they thought of everything design wise. They didn't skimp on anything, especially the chandeliers, which my wife loved pointing out to me at every chance she could. The rooms were on the large size and the the bathrooms especially wowed me. I'm generally not a fan of hotel beds/pillows but the beds in this room were a nice surprise. Would recommend if you're looking for something nice in the area whether you're traveling into town, staying in the area for a wedding, or just having a stay over date night. read more

Stayed at the Delevan last weekend and had an enjoyable experience. We enjoyed the nice, well decorated room. We had a standard king room that was still spacious. Bathroom was awesome! Huge shower and double vanity. We enjoyed a meal at Italian prime and was nice that the hotel connects directly to the restaurant. The to go breakfast in the morning was just ok (I know it is different due to covid restrictions) but wish there were a few more options. I planned to use the gym but unfortunately it was still closed. We received $50 coupon off our next stay which was awesome. I would definitely consider staying here again. read more

I wanted to start this by saying the reason my wife and I chose this hotel is because of a nice promotion we received (hotel stay, hot breakfast, dinner for two) for $189. GREAT right? WRONG. It was my our 25 wedding anniversary and I called them to confirm not only the price, but the appointment, dinner, etc. Then 2 days prior to going, I had an unfortunate incident that happened to me. I HAD to get an emergency tooth pulled on the morning of because of a crack tooth/infection. I immediately called the hotel and asked how the dinner worked because we would still like to stay at the hotel but with not being able to chew, did not want my limited choices with such an expensive dinner option. They told me not to worry, they can issue us a dinner voucher for $85 to be used within 30 days. How nice I thought. Then we went to the hotel... The woman at the front desk stated 1 - This is not the case, they cannot issue a voucher as the dinner package expired at midnight and there is no manager onsite to speak with. 2 - She stated there is NO hot breakfast with COVID but there are other options. (ok I get it) 3 - They cannot understand how this room for $282 a night I was able to get a dinner package. I SHOWED HER my email verification. After she spoke to the restaurant manager they could give me a $20 voucher for dinner, thats it (even though I had verification before hand). Then she stated that I should be paying more for this room even though I had verification. (Insult) I then told her I wanted to leave and for her to refund me the money. NOPE. They cant do that without a manager. I would have to wait until the next morning! WHAT??? So my choices are to stay the night and eat the dinner or leave, get billed and hope it gets refunded in the morning with no where to stay, or 3..take the 20 credit and stay without eating dinner. We stayed, ate dinner, (tough with not being able to chew) and the next morning got our breakfast. (cold bagel, and an orange). HIGH CLASS! Oh by the way...The woman behind the desk asked us the occasion and when we told her it was our 25th wedding anniversary she said...I will tell the restaurant and they will do something nice. Guess what? Nothing was done. We asked the waiter after our mean what the surprise "would of been" and he said a sparkler. HA Oh by the way i even upgraded the room to the suite by paying an extra $35 a night and we got a room with paint bubbling off the walls. THANKS No ice bucket either. Dont bother with this hotel. They have statues, and are complete "wanna be's". But they cant live up to high class without customer service. And really a high class hotel without a manager on duty? No issues can be solved at that time then. Not acceptable. And another thing...If you say hot breakfast, supply a toaster so we can toast the cold bagel so we can pretend it is in line with the small print or provide a discount without staff questioning it. If you like chandeliers do I have a hotel for you! We stayed here for a wedding recently and my wife picked this place out from the reviews online. It's a bit of an odd place once you realize it's attached to an very popular local Italian restaurant. It's all very nice. The things I like: Very clean rooms. Large hallways, tall ceilings, nice bathrooms with their own poop rooms. The On-Demand cable options are nice to catch up on your TV shows as opposed to the typical hotel cable TV you get. The showers are very nice and large with large overhead shower heads, but are a bit hard to operate. Plus side - these showers are good for sexy times since the hot water never ends. Dislikes: The rooms are not bad but don't have the little office type area that I tend to enjoy for working away from home. The wifi is the worst i've ever experienced. I had to upload some large files for work and what usually takes me an hour at home took my about 12 hours letting my computer upload over night. A hotel as nice as this should have their own locked down wifi network for guests and not all the people dining at the Italian restaurant. The breakfast bar could use healthier options. The workout room was closed during the day most of the time because it caused too much noise for people at the spa? bad design. The things I cant explain: Chandeliers - They are everywhere. In the rooms, in the bathrooms, in the hallway. They are everywhere. Even pictures of chandeliers are everywhere. It's the weirdest thing. The owner or designer was clearly hot for chandeliers. Overall it's a fine hotel. Maybe a bit pricey for what you get for being billed as a luxury hotel. But yeah, the chandelier thing is super strange. read more

We visited the Buffalo and Niagara Falls area during Independence weekend and this hotel was away from the falls and I am so glad we stayed here. The hotels by the Falls were busy, a lot of foot and car traffic and very touristy. Not so with the Delavan; it was classy, clean and convenient. Also, very close to the airport. A short drive away from Niagara Falls, it provided us the perfect elegant weekend that we wanted. Free parking and breakfast was included and the hotel was very quiet for the most part. There is a pool table in the lobby if you want some recreation as well as a basic workout room with the basic bikes, treadmills, etc. The room was very nicely decorated with pictures of chandeliers everywhere. The art work, wall paper, and furnishings were all very pleasing to the eye. The shower was a great walk in type of deal with the rain shower head. Oh yeah and dual sinks was a nice addition. One of the great surprises is that they have a day spa on the premises so my wife scheduled us for a pedicure. The spa was immaculate and the technicians very knowledgeable, gentle and considerate. They also have massage chairs that were to die for. As I sat soaking my feet, my back and neck were getting the massage of a lifetime. My wife and I both agreed that we have to get on of those chairs for our home. I recommend this hotel if you're ever in the Buffalo area; you will not be disappointed. read more

the staff and management here need client service training badly! snow storm forecast two weeks ago - they have no snow shovels, plows or even rock salt available to help guests whose cars are under two feet of snow on November 18. and the excuse making and guest blaming was world class when we asked for help. no apologies ir concessions for guests- just self help. and the accommodations are rather threadbare and in need of a facelift. We booked a staycation here to get out of the heat. We got the spa package and the massage and dinner was great! I definitely recommend. However the hotel was terrible. The door wouldn't shut all the way, the deadbolt didn't work, one of the sink faucets didn't work, the bed skirt was stained, the tv was too small for the room. The water in the shower didn't stay hot. The hot gourmet breakfast was a cold bagel that you grabbed from the gift shop fridge. Our room also only had decaf coffee kcups.... This hotel, is one of the crookedest I've ever booked. Booked and paid in full a stay for one night over a month in advance. I flew in from Detroit, and due to a delay to my flight I arrived late. On my booking confirmation, I was guaranteed a late check-in at the Delavan up until 3am. I called in advance before arriving and to confirm and was told that I would be able to get the room I paid for. Upon arriving, I was told the hotel was overbooked and that I would have to be accommodated somewhere else. I understand that overbooking happens when it comes to hotels, but when something is guaranteed, and then further confirmed by front desk staff it should be honored. To be guaranteed a late check-in on my confirmation, have it further assured over the phone and then when I arrive be told something completely different is beyond unethical, unprofessional and frankly outright lying. I'm thoroughly disappointed with how the staff handled the situation, especially the manager David. read more

This review is based on the experience my wife and I had at this hotel's spa. I called to scheduled a couples massage for my wife's birthday. While scheduling over the phone I made it extremely clear that we would like 2 female massage therapists. I was told over the phone that wasn't a problem and the appointment was scheduled. Once we arrived we were underwhelmed by the changing rooms being the size of a closet, the ropes being completely see-through, and a small waiting area no bigger than a half bathroom. When the time came for the massage we were placed in the room with 2 male massage therapists even though we made appointments for 2 females. We were extremely uncomfortable. The one male massage therapists was covered in tattoos and heavy breathed over my wife the entire time he was completing her massage. I still regret not stopping the both of them and asking them to leave so that we could get dressed and leave this place as fast as possible. When the massage was finally over and it came time to pay I informed the staff that we had made appointments for 2 female therapists and were given 2 males. I explained how uncomfortable and awkward the entire experience was and, I kid you not, they did not say one word! No apology, no explanation! I had to ask how this mistake could have been made? Their Response "I'm not sure, we only have one female therapist" and that was it! No apology, just took my credit card and seemed like it was normal. Tried to stay a second time at this hotel after the bad experience I had the first time booking the suite for a spa weekend. First time was terrible room was dirty, reeked of smoke, walked out right away after another customer said him and his wife were going through the same thing. Now second time; booked for 3 days; walked in seemed a little cleaner in the hall ways.... music was BLASTING through out the hallways, called down to Lobby and man said it would stop around 8 pm that it was coming from restaurant, took a shower it was so nasty and was scared that the shower door was going to break. Sat on the bed and the bed was so uncomfortable, not even a head board a weird painting in the back, sat on the bed for maybe 5 mins, was sinking in and all the sudden I kid you not see a BUG!!! Terrified had to be careful packing up everything and left. This hotel is more like a motel. Pay extra money to stay else wear, contacted the manager David on many different occasions and he never fully fixed any issues or gave reassurance. I have no idea why we tried to stay here another time, I suggest going to Russell Grand hotel down the street, or even motel 6 for a better sleep. Disgusting! read more

We checked in on Tuesday November 12th & i have been blown away since the moment we walked in! Everything is decorated beautifully, the staff are SUPER FRIENDLY, the Suite (Harriet I believe was the name)we are staying in is amazing as well. Large room with sitting area, shower is roomy which is wonderful when your hubby is 6'6. The tub you could go swimming in! Again my hubby could fit in it to relax & soak away the day of exploring we have had! Pictures do not do it justice! The hotel is super convenient since we flew in to the Buffalo Niagara Airport! Super clean room, the bed was so comfortable & in general the room was a great place to unwind & relax! We stayed 4 days in the area for our 10th wedding anniversary & I can not wait to come back from Florida to visit again. I will book here again! I'm not sure how to specifically review the spa separate from the hotel but here it goes. Massage- I recently had a spa day with some girlfriends at the hotel. The massage itself was ok. As someone who doesn't often get massages, it was a little too strong for me. Manicure- This part was by far the worst. When we went downstairs to our next treatment, a manicure, I was greeted by a newly-out-of-Boces 18 year old. She started by telling me that she was running late to her hostess job at the restaurant downstairs. When she started the manicure, I apologized as I hadn't been able to remove my chipped polish the night before. She told me "don't worry, this polish is so thick it will cover it", instead of removing the old polish. She did 3 coats of gel polish hastily, leaving it all over my cuticles and skin. She then tagged in her co-worker who was going to finish the job as she was running late. By the time I was 1/2 way home, all the polish had lifted and peeled off entirely. Pedicure- The girl who did my pedicure was also freshly out of beauty school and had to keep asking her senior co-worker what to do next. While I was sitting, 2 of my gel nails started to lift and one peeled off all together. We finished the pedicure and moved onto the blowout. When I got up from the chair, I looked down and the polish on my toes was streaky and clearly rushed. Blowout-When we got over to the blowout station the young girl told me that she doesn't actually have a station so we'd have to sit at a someone else's. She started washing my hair and someone came over to let her know that a boy had texted her so the mad dash for her to be rid of me started. She washed my hair, told me "it didn't look THAT thin when it was dry" and ushered me over to a chair. She blew my hair dry in record time and then set off to tend to her phone. One of the other stylist clearly saw that I wasn't happy and called the young girl back to curl my hair as well. Concerned at the length of time she was leaving the very hot iron on my already thin hair, I said it was fine and left. Honestly the only redeeming part to this was the wine, cheese, and time spent with my friends. I would absolutely not return to this spa. read more

Ok i was dreading this review because i have major mixed feelings. Ok So my husband and i were celebrating our 9yr wedding anniversary a bit earlier this month. I had to make a quick hotel reservation and im happy there was a room available. Now i booked the harriet suite and got the signature package... roses..champagne and chocolate covered strawberries ok so we get there and the package was not ready and wasnt in the room because they said i made the reservation too late but if we had to head out then it would be ready when we get back.. no big deal because we went out to eat and when we returned, my husband was pleasently surprised by the roses,champagne and strawberries so crisis averted.. ok so we are in the room very beautiful i must say it didnt scream suite but very spacious and the tub was sooo deep and relaxing but i then realize i spent alot on this suite and it didnt have a MICROWAVE!!! it had a fridge but no mivrowave. My logic is if there is a fridge and clearly there will be food in there then where on earth will i heat up my leftover ham??!! So i figure there must be one on the floor at least so i go snooping and NOPE no microwave to heat up my hotpocket. Go downstairs now im really upset because im out of breath and i wanted my hotpocket!!! Frontdesk says oh there is one right here let me show you.. im thinking it has to be a sweet room with microwave, plates,cups, coffee ya know cant a girl dream NOPE it was some dirty microwave behind the desk looks like a small staff breakroom with shoes, cubbies, cleaning supplies, extra room keys etc etc so i sat there and heated up my hotpocket and my husband sandwich. I heated it extra hot because i had to take that stroll back up the elevator to my room. Ok fine then we realize there was no ice machine and if there was then it wasnt clearly noted so our drink was warm and didnt want to bother front desk again we were just tired... ok next NO POOL!!! I should have asked b4 booking or found out myself before but i assumed and was wrong.. Next Can you believe the amount people pay for these suites, the snacks in the room are NOT FREE!! I REPEAT NOOTTTT FREE!!!! It was too late because my husband already ate the cookies because he assumed it was no extra charge like we experienced at Home2Suite in Rochester NY..Next there are these awkward tvs in the elevators and for some reason they are not hung right and i backed right into one and cut my arm.. no big deal .. the room phone is across the room not nxt to the bed on the night stand i thought that was kind of weird... Next we didnt even get the chance to touch our chocolate covered strawberries because we were full from dinner and had other snacks so we put the nicley decorated plate in the fridge and was going to have them with our breakfast NOT!!open the fridge and the freezer melted and the water from the freezer filled up our plate and bottom of fridge so those were trash! Called maintenance b4 we checked out just so they know and hear what happened from out own mouth, maintenance came and checked it out made note of it and reported it back to management i guess.. i will come back to the end result in a second.. ok so now the GOOD... Room was amazingly beautiful, right from check in i felt right at home front desk very warm and approachable. Breakfast was just great!had these chocolate pudding shooters, bacon extra crispy, sausages so flavorful and the atmosphere just made us feel like we were fine dining for breakfast we loved it..Also i was so scared because i had gotten makeup on the cover but after looking closely they were smart enough to protect the cover with a protector of some sort so it just got on that and not the actual cover because i was just so scared i was going to get billed! Ok now back to the ruined strawberries, i came down to check out wasnt even going to mention the whole fiasco but i said i better let smbdy at this front desk know incase it wasnt them i told on the phone.. so i did and he said oh not a problem i apologize I'll go and get you another order of chocolate covered strawberries just wait right here i said it wasnt that serious i just wanted yall to know the freezer broke he said oh no my pleasure ill take care of it so as he was doing that another associate asked if everything was alright i said oh yes thank you im just waiting for my chocolate covered strawberries he insisted on giving me she said... oh he is the GM its his pleasure! I said now THATS how things are handled!! Made a few of my issues disappear.. all in all for the price, I would love to see more signage especially for the Suites make the guests in the suites feel alittle more special for the money spent and at least have microwaves in the suites or two on each floor other than that beautiful property great food and even better staff THANKS for making our anniversary even more special look forward to staying again very soon. :) read more

This hotel is absolutely beautiful and clean, but they should have put as much effort into comfort as they did the chandeliers everywhere. The bed sheets and bath towels were very poor quality as was the mattress. One of my favorite things about staying in hotels are the oversized pillows and towels and the big comfy beds. This hotel left me disappointed. The breakfast buffet was your usual powdered eggs and thawed pastries. I don't know how they prepare their bacon, but it was absolutely awful! Thank God for cereal! The worst part is how thin the walls are. We stayed 3 nights and weren't able to get 1 full night's sleep. We could hear every toilet flush or door open from other people staying around us. The last night we had a group of 5 out in the hallway at midnight. Had to call to the front desk to have them send someone up. Nobody ever came and the next morning another couple was complaining to a manager about the very same issue. Really makes me think that corners were cut for the hotel to look luxurious. More effort should have been made for it to be worth the price of the stay. read more

Researched hotels when coming up to deal with an estate, had my mother with me so I also wanted to give her a little mini vaca, this hotel lacked a pool or hot tub but appeared to make up for it in looking very up to date and a better breakfast, so based on what I found online for reviews and pictures I chose this hotel. The hotel was ok, I expected much much more, this was listed as a 4 star hotel, upon arrival I asked for the included valet service and as I went in to grab a bag cart a person finally came out and I asked him to valet the truck and to take our bags to the room, which felt odd sort of like we were almost asking for something that is not normally done but the guy did it happily. (I never seen any other bags taken to rooms the entire 5 days we were there yet there were carts, felt very odd). Later I went down to get the keys to the truck and there was no one there, I was forced to wait until someone appeared at the unintended front desk, the next day while trying to retrieve our vehicle from valet there was a new lady in training and again had to wait for someone to come that knew where our keys were, the next day once again there was no one at the front desk and I got tired of waiting so I went to the key box to find it unlocked and any one could grab any keys they wanted, so I grabbed my keys and left, the remaining time we spent at this hotel I parked the truck myself. The first morning we ate breakfast at the hotel, that was the first time and the last time, there was nothing good to say about it, just as cheap as any other hotels hot breakfast and the eggs were weird like they were possibly made from a powder? I'm not sure but that was it for us, no more breakfast there. In the room and halls there are stains in the carpet. The beds to me are horrible and not of the type of quality I would expect at a hotel like this rated as 4 stars. The room otherwise was very nice, however be careful entering the shower if the floor is wet as it is easy to slip on the tile inside the shower. My sheet had a huge very light colored stain on it as well, it was very odd. Hotel housekeeping staff are amazing people, great attitudes and very attentive. I booked my mother and I for some spa time, me for an 1hr normal massage and my mother a spa pedicure and 1/2hr massage, however not without complications, my massage to be done at the same time required checking if the lady would mind coming in an hour early, the receptionist stated she would ask and call me which never happened so I went down and asked the new shift receptionist and was able to get an answer right away. Upon finishing my massage I paid and found they charged me for a deep tissue when I booked a normal, so I just told them to take the difference off my mothers bill. Moving on to my mom she was supposed to get a spa pedicure but was only given an award winning pedicure (I'm not sure where award came from as they didn't do much) and as such only charged her for that (yet I booked her myself for a spa pedicure). On our final day I went down to the front desk and explained that we needed to book an additional night as my mom had got some type of food poisoning or something and we needed to stay another day, the gentleman stated that the rate had gone up but he would do his best to match our rate or at least get it down to a certain number, upon checking out I found that never took place and was the $25 more, they stated they would have the manager call me at 11am when he got in, I ended up calling in at around 1pm myself to check on it because I was worried we were not checked out now by 11 and received a call back, the manager did get the rate down to what his employee stated but made sure to tell me that number was lower than we paid to which I kindly explained I never looked at our rates and was ONLY going by what their front desk employee told me. And then there was the food, was it good? yes, but to me it does not warrant their prices. A caesar salad consisted of 4 romaine leaves wrapped on one end with a little prosciutto and like 7 croutons on the side. $11 for the salad, $9 french onion soup, $9 for a beer, $11 cake, and $27 for some roasted veggies for my mom, with a tip it was over $80...... My mom stayed in bed for two days and the staff were very accommodating as well as room service for her. So there are pros and cons but based on my experience I would not stay at this hotel again unless some changes were made. read more

Our wedding is at Salvatore's, the front desk of the hotel staff was yelling at the father of the bride, and two separate phone calls asking to speak with the manager were not returned to either myself or the bride. I when there because of all of the commercials and different forms of advertisements and thought this would be a great place for my first wedding anniversary, but I was wrong. The breakfast was ok and the dinner had me throwing up for 30 minutes in the bathroom and I had to go to the ER. I would of understood getting sick from food from a street vendor, but not somewhere I sent almost $150 for a meal. The hotel room was basic and the room had a great view of a water tower. That was a great way to spend almost $500 in two nights! There weren't any complementary waters in the room nor an ice bucket. Most hotels I have stayed in I wanted to stay another day, but I actually left a day earlier. I would also like to thank the manager on duty for checking on me since I had go to the ER for eating at the hotel's restaurant; I'm being sarcastic. read more

I travel often and this is my new favorite hotel! The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The decor is fabulous. I love the hardwood floors in the entry of the rooms. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. We loved the rainfall shower head option. The complimentary breakfast was great and the women working the breakfast service was very welcoming. I have already told all of my friends and family in the Buffalo area about this hotel and highly recommend it. We will be utilizing the complimentary airport shuttle this afternoon. We were able to pay $25 for an extended check out which was very helpful since our flight doesn't leave until 4pm. Next time I am in the area I will definitely stay here again. My husband and I live within 30 minutes, but decided that the hotel would be a nice getaway for our anniversary. They offer a nice rejuvenate package, which includes a voucher for some spa credits and for dinner. The spa is not owned by the hotel, so you can't simply add to your bill...but it's still a nice touch. Although not the most luxurious of spas (the relaxation room was pretty weak), it was still nice. The dinner was outstanding, and it was nice to not have to shuttle to get there (like the garden place). The room was very pretty. The shower was great, but having a tub or a fireplace would have added to the luxury. I agree with the other review on the towels...quite tiny, like kid tiny....and only 3 of them. There was a spot for a microwave in the room, but no microwave. Given the leftovers from the restaurant, that would've been nice too. The only true letdown was, like the other reviews, the breakfast. There was no breakfast room (like the pictures). About 10-15 tables were crammed into the lobby and the food was in a small space that would've been better suited for some lobby couches. It was awkward to navigate around the tables with suit cases or to get to the front desk. The food, however, was mediocre at best. Powered eggs, hard sausage, stale bread for toast. We got there. Around 9, and there wasn't any milk, regular coffee or yogurt. That was eventually brought out by the one busy attendant. The only fruit was some dry melon. It was disappointing that the management left us with that as our departing memory of, what would've been, a wonderful hotel. read more

In town for a corporate anniversary party and had no idea the Salvatore family built this hotel. I am a native of Buffalo, but currently live in Nevada. Hotel is attached to Salvatore's Italian Gardens and banquet center. They offer a complimentary airport shuttle, continental breakfast, 24hour gift shop for Buffalo souvenirs and snacks, fitness center, and access to the bar at Salvatore's Restaurant. Capello's Salon is on the 2nd floor of the hotel and open daily. The room is just beautiful! The bathroom was amazing! Rainhead shower, wood look tile flooring, pocket door to separate the toilet from the rest of the bathroom. Bed was a little firm for my liking, but still got a good night's sleep. The breakfast was ok, not the greatest and as others mentioned, the eggs tasted odd so I didn't eat them, but they had other hot options including bacon or sausage, french toast, and cubed breakfast potatoes. They had bread, bagels, and cinnamon rolls, pastry, cereal, yogurt and fruit. Drinks offered were Gevalia Coffee, probably tea (didn't notice), orange juice, apple juice, and cranberry juice. Very friendly staff throughout the hotel, and I'd definitely stay there again! read more

I feel like I've been ripped off. I booked a business trip. I never got a confirmation of the purchase, but they did charge my credit card. I then canceled the reservation more than 48 hours ahead of the scheduled stay as my plans changed, but they refused to remove the charge. They claim I booked a non-refundable rate, but I am sure I did not. Had they actually sent me a confirmation email I could have realized the mistake in their system and immediately fixed it, or at least proven that I had not agreed to a non-refundable rate. But because they failed to issue a confirmation, I had no warning of the issue. When I called to cancel they also failed to tell me that the rate was non-refundable. I spoke to the manager today, but he refused to refund me even though he agrees I canceled the trip. I'm now out hundreds of dollars since my business won't refund me for the canceled trip. I'm disputing this through my credit card, and will update if they fix this. But for now, I'd advise to stay somewhere else. read more
