Used to be one of our favorite places. Very disappointing last few visits. The service has gotten worse - takes a very long time to get your food. The sushi chef always seems to be mad at the world, and the prices have increased despite portion sizes getting smaller. Not sure if I would recommend anymore to anyone read more

If you ever happen to be in Ironton, make sure you stop by the train depot. The food is great and service well done. I had a shrimp pasta dish that was great and on another occasion a soup and sandwich special. The soup was a little salty but the sandwich (crab cake) was perfect. Not sure how sushi fits in the train motif, but I'm sure it is good if I can compare it to what I have sampled there. read more

Food was good. Steak was cooked properly and seasoned well. Service was good. Attentive without being annoying. Would recommend to anyone.

Average. Dinned here with a friend while in town. Convience location given proximity to friends house. Next time I'll stick to drinks. I chose seafood of which I should know "the depot" is not fine dining. If there is a next time I'll stick to salad, not vegetarian friendly read more

I'm surprised at the nice reviews of this place. The atmosphere has potential but lots of Pepsi signage - sorry but if you're trying to seem upscale or anywhere close to that, you can't do soda signage. We asked for a beer/wine list - took them about 5 minutes to find a crappy plastic table tent type thing....which had a bunch of magic marker strike-throughs on it. Soooo?? Then we ordered drinks - a couple beers and some water. The water had a few pieces of ice in it in plastic Dr. Pepper cups. We ordered the calamari app- it was actually delicious. Ordered entrees at the same time. All of my food came out immediately- my husband's salad came out about 10 minutes later - then his entree came out about a minute after that. Basically we watched each other eat dinner. The server station is wide open and poorly designed - lots of people standing around doing nothing. I don't live around here so I leaned on Yelp to find a decent place to eat and I was very disappointed. read more

Food was great, waitress was awesome! The manager Matt was really odd and hard to get a hold of. I was trying to plan a Christmas party there for my little shoppe and had end up calling 2 or 3 days in a row and still no one was able to help me and no return phone calls so ended up going down there and basically begging him to book us! Whenever I can, I stop by the Depot for sushi. You wouldn't expect it, but this little restaurant has great sushi for a great price. The staff are always friendly. Great small town service with upscale food and decor. read more

Well the waitress was very apologetic. Was billed for an appetizer that never came. My food came 10 after everyone else. The fish sandwich was more breading then fish. The sushi was good,but the rolls were small. For all the hype the group was very disappointed. read more

Had dinner here for a double-date night with friends; loved that they brought life back to an old building, & the food was decent, but nothing super exciting. Our friends had already been there & interested us in it; however, to our dismay, they said that the menu had drastically changed--lots of dishes we had no interest in & pricier than we had planned! The only thing I would remotely recommend on the menu was what I had, which was a Colorful Salad w/Chicken--it was good, but I wouldn't make a special trip back for it. My wife and I went for Valentines Day. The food is outstanding. We had the Valentines Day Special. Which was Steak, Lobster and Mahi Mahi. It was some of the best food I've eaten anywhere. However Had the food not been that good. We probably would never return. The service is horrible. we actually observed a server talking a couple into leaving. Our Server did nothing but complain about people coming in. And just barely waited on us. I actually got up and got my own sushi from the sushi bar. Otherwise I don't believe I would have gotten it. They have a lot of people carry food out. It's not a mystery why. I recommend you Carry out. read more

We are in the area for work & were told to try out the sushi! We have great sushi in Kansas City where we are from. The captain jack roll, California roll, spicy crab roll, hibachi noodles-soooo yummy & crab meat Rangoon were awesome! The sushi is made fresh! I had the crab meat spring roll & it was tasteless, literally had no taste, would not order that again. My husband had a sandwich & he liked it but the pickle served on the side looked/tasted oldit is nice inside & our waitresses have been friendly & knowledgeable! I will be back for sushi! read more

What a nice surprise here in the small town of Ironton. Full bar in an historic location on the Ohio river with sushi and other asian options (vegetable sushi and ahi tuna entrée were delicious) my daughter loved the noodles with beef and my husband enjoyed a steak. I don't know if I'll ever be in Ironton again but if you are this is the best restaurant around! read more

This place located near an old train station in Ironton. The people are very nice but seem to have a lack of a sense of urgency. Both times I ate there it took way too long to get the check and refills. The food was pretty good, they are more focused on a seafood menu. The dishes I ordered were actually pretty good. Scallops and the second visit was lobster. The only criticism I have is the portions are very small. read more

My favorite place in ironton to eat 4 stars and up for 3 star price. Excellent service and environment. Family recipes. Great cocktail style bar with very experienced and knowledgable bar tender. Sushi is great but a bit overpriced. Would recommend this restaurant to anybody for it has a great selection of food options all being good with a good wine and beer selection. read more

I travel quite a bit for work, so I am always looking for someplace interesting to eat other than the typical chain restaurants. Well, I have found an absolute gem in the Depot. I ordered chicken breast stuffed with mushrooms and potato cakes with steamed vegetables and a house salad. Everything was outstanding in terms of freshness and taste. This is a great little place and like other reviewers have said, the setting is nice. It feels a little more upscale than most local places, but unlike other reviewers, I didn't find the prices bad at all. A good steak with trimmings may have cost $12 or $14, with most dishes being around $10. They have lunch sandwiches starting around $4 or so with chips. This is a place you really need to try. They're a local place, and I'm sure they have a mistake from time to time like anyone else, but the half a dozen or so times I've ate there so far, it's been great. Give it a try. Their lunch menu is much better and more affordable than their dinner options. My family and I stopped in for lunch one day and my youngest ordered a cheeseburger from the children's menu. When I cut it open, it was raw inside. I politely asked the waitress if they would cook it a bit more. A few minutes later- we received the same burger back that had been put in the microwave. The bread was hard- and it was completely inedible. I split my meal with my child and we vowed to not go back. The sushi is good- freshly prepared, but the tempura batter is much too heavy. The spinach dip, however, is out of this world wonderful. read more

Went with a group of 8 people on Saturday night. It took two hours for our food to come out. We did not get all of our food. I had the New York strip and it was very dry and very tough. The waitress was very friendly. I have no plan of ever going back. read more
