Grilled 18 oz ribeye served with mashed potatoes, grilled vegetables & mushroom brandy cream sauce

A great meal to celebrate my wife and my 7th anniversary. The service by Tammy was impeccable and the ambiance was upscale modern mountain dining. The menu is small but the choices were delicious. The meat and cheese plate had three meats (prosciutto, hard salami & dried beef) three cheeses (lavender, aged Gouda and forgetting the third) with gherkins, olives, mustard and local honey from Del Norte. This was all served with grilled baguette slices. The cocktails were strong and only $10 (definitely not that price in Denver). I really enjoyed a Manhattan with two types of bourbon, cherry & bitters. The grilled ribeye was cooked as requested to medium rare. It was very filling. The grilled pork shank was also good. The greens were a bit bitter but still edible and a dish I'm glad I tried. Smaller dining space so definitely make reservations. A definite restaurant I'd go to again when in the San Luis valley.

Our favorite restaurant- always delivers great food and service. New menu just came out. Husband had the Pork Shank Cassoulet - very good. I had the Smoked Trout Cake and the House Ramen as my meal. Everything was excellent, as always!

Wow. I mean, this is a five star for a five star restaurant. I rate places for what they are. The staff was very covid compliant, I felt very safe. The drinks, appetizer and meals were PHENOMENAL!!! I am honestly blown away by the dining experience in such a small town. We went in for my birthday and it was one of the hands down best dining experiences I've had in years (even prior to covid-19) and am making sure to support this lovely business while I am here. They are doing everything right, stop in to see or order carryout, either way you will not be disappointed.

Fabulous filet! Beautifully presented and delicious.

Went to the Windsor for our anniversary. It was so very good! Excellent service and our filet was equal to any we have had! Surpassed The Fairmont in Dallas even. I really must mention the potatoes that accompanied the steak, wow!

Our dinner and the service was superb. We are fortunate to have a restaurant of this quality in the valley.

The inside is well kept and the decor adds to the charm of the place. As they like to keep saying, everything is made from scratch, though they don't milk the cow. The ingredients and portions do seem to match a homemade kind of feel. It absolutely tastes wonderful and like something might expect from a talented self taught chef. This probably means that the food is not light on the calories. As they don't list the calories, it's hard to know. The staff were very friendly and attentive - though not to the point that you might think them weird. They definitely care about your opinion of the restaurant and it shows! There is even a little bit of humor added into some signs in the bathroom (though nothing remotely obscene). The menu is broad enough to appeal to a variety of tastes and food requirements. This includes children, gluten free customers, vegetarians, and meat lovers. As others have mentioned, the pies are a must try. With some irregular flavors, such as a Jack Daniels Pecan Pie, you don't want to miss out.

The waitress was unable to answer questions about the menu. Flies were annoying. I ordered the steak and half of it was fat. When I complained, they took 5% off the ticket. I will not be back.

This post isn't to completely bash this place rather just to share my opinion…read more Staff is super attentive and our drinks were never empty. The food however was terrible. Four of us with a meal each, two cups of coffee, and two lemonades was $82, which is far too pricey for the quality of the food. I ordered the huevos rancheros and I have never eaten such bland food before. The beans were hard as though they hadn't been cooked all the way and I am not sure how, but even the single slice of bacon that came with it was bland. I ended up eating the eggs on top of the corn tortillas and left the rest of my food. One of my sons ordered the lunch burrito with chicken and without me prompting him, also said that it was bland and flavorless. My other son ordered the short stack and said that the pancakes were ok but poured the syrup on and it tasted like maple flavored water and made the pancakes soggy. My husband got the chicken fried steak and said it was ok once he put a ton of salt on it. Please see the photos. We ended up leaving most of our food untouched. We paid our bill in full and left tip, which was over $100 for bland food that we didn't hardly eat. I would recommend skipping this place as the food is bland and tasteless, even by hungry teenage boy's standards. The two stars of this review are definitely because staff was great.
