Service is wonderful. The menu is limited to prime rib on some days and filet mignon on others. The meal comes with a wedge salad, and sides. Potato and veggies. This might have been one of the best prime ribs I've ever had. It's a classic rustic vibe, the interior seems well made, it's built to last, and classy. Don't change a thing. The prices are really good. On the prime rib days I'd recommend getting the 16oz or bigger, it's a better cut of meat, less fat, and overall just better. Fantastic evening for dinner! Looking for a great steak house come here. It's a very cozy restaurant with an old style western feel to it. Food is really good and great price. The menu is very simple... what size of steak and how do you want it cooked. It is served with a wedge of salad , the dressing is house dressing and is so good. Also served with a big loaded potato and bread. The service depends on the waitress. We've gotten one that was very attentive and one that was not. You do need a reservation, especially for a large group, and need to call the day before. They don't answer the phone before 4:00 and seating is limited. With our groups of 10-12. Does no one in Monte Vista want to work? This establishment needs help. This evening we witnessed an amazing event. This restaurant which seats 80 people and was 3/4 full, had only 3 people working- a waitress and 2 cooks. Because of this, the wait for food was longer than usual, BUT THE WAITRESS DID A PHENOMENAL JOB of seating, serving, bartending , busing tables and seeing that everyone had a great meal. I don't know how they do it, but I got a 12 oz. bacon-wrapped filet mignon steak, with a salad wedge, and a loaded baked potato, for just $19.95! Wow! ...and you can get a smaller steak for less and up to a 15 oz steak for $22.95. Here's the deal. The ONLY thing on the menu Sunday-Thursday is filet mignon, and the ONLY thing on the menu Friday-Saturday is prime rib. That's all, plain and simple. I like it! We were there on a Monday at 6:30 PM and it was packed!! The other restaurant on the street was completely empty. Our server said during tourist season they are packed but not so much in the off-season. Beer and well drinks are also super cheap. Well drinks are only $3.25 and a call drink is $9.00. The filet mignon was cooked exactly as I ordered it. It wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was the best for the price I paid. My dad and I were both very pleased with our steaks. There were only three people working the entire place and they did a super job. You'll wait a bit for your food and drink, but it'll be worth it! We were staying in Alamosa and looking for a place to eat that was unique and different. We read the reviews and decided to give Quincey's a try. What an absolutely amazing place!! We loved the charm of the building, but the food and drinks were also amazing!! The wedge salad was delicious. The dressing had us all trying to guess what type of dressing they used to make it so exceptional; after all, what can you do to make a wedge salad great? They really made it exceptional! Next was the drinks. We had 4 mixed drinks and two craft beers. They were all exceptional! Even the house Margaritas were really good!! We all had the filet (since we visited on a Tuesday, and that was our only option) and it was well-prepared and perfect. I cannot say enough about this restaurant. To make it even better, with 6 drinks and 4 filets, the ticket (with tip) was only $153.00!! Unbelievable!!! I wish we could visit more often!!! First date night in months. Partner and I ordered the exact same thing: same cut of meat. I should also add the restaurant has a 'limited menu' meaning they only serve one dish. That said, my partner received a beautifully seared THICK 12 oz cut of meat cooked perfectly 'medium rare'. I received a fatty, 8 oz, BLOOD RARE (did it even touch a flame for more than 6 secs?) piece of meat. The waitress forgot lemons for my water (I had to remind her), and brought my water with my partner's who's drink had arrived 5 mins earlier. Said partner also had to waive down waitress for my refills -- It's water... When the waitress brought my lemons, I also asked for extra salad dressing. Her response was 'Do you need anything else?' Be warned. This review is in October 2023, but new ownership is coming in in November. Our visit was great. The restaurant is okay from the outside, but walk in and I found the Ambiance very appealing. It's beautiful and intimate and my wife and I felt very relaxed there. Our server Paris was TOP NOTCH, and why new ownership isn't offering any of the current staff positions is beyond me. I told Paris if the new owners don't beg her to stay, they are not being smart in their decision making already. The steaks were okay, but like other reviews, the consistency was lacking. My steak was fine, but my wife's was overcooked, and even though Paris had them remake it, it still was off. We had filet mignons and a wedge salad with wonderful homemade dressing. The venue is beautiful with stained glass, rich wood,and a cozy layout. Disappointing. Kindest description I can apply tonight. A week ago I checked out the food, service, bar and decided to get a group of friends together for a birthday dinner--about 10 of us have September or October b-days. That was a bad decision. Like everyone, they're understaffed. Tonight's service was glacially slow, especially bar service. The bar was also out of any rye whiskey. This was the case last week as well. Apparently nobody cares. I got bourbon as a substitute last week; tonight that was also out of stock. Drinks came a tray at a time with 15 minutes between trips. Food came a little more steadily once it started. All the comments I heard were about weak drinks (even my shot on the rocks had no flavor, and no effect, even though I hadn't eaten since 6:30 AM), half-baked potatoes and improperly done meat. My prime rib was far less tasteful than the same size and done-ness cut I got last week. I would advise against going as a group. One or two can eat at the bar, which is a better experience. Also, my group wanted to make a point about the service by shaving the tip. It was of course already added in. That's my last visit. It's said that new ownership takes effect next month. They should consider closing the place and trying to make their money back by selling the property and the fixtures and kitchen appliances. The star that I'm giving them reflects last week's experience (4) plus this week's (-3.5). read more

Unfortunately a bad experience. We had worked hard this week and wanted to celebrate with a nice steak and have not been to Quincy's in a while. We called at 16:30 and wanted to reserve a table for 6p. The hostess said they do not make reservations but would take my name and put me on the list... (?). Okay. We were able to get out of work early and get to the restaurant about 17:05 (5:05p). We told the hostess we were the ones who called in but were there now so please put us on the immediate waiting list. She motioned for us to wait outside and would be called. (Temps were about 90) Meanwhile others were walking in and while some came back out, many stayed in. The hostess came out every once in a while to ask for certain patrons - not us. After an hour - which was about 6p, I went back in to inquire and she said they had two different lists - ones for call ins and one for walk ins. Her "list" was scribbled and scratched through and in some areas, torn. I told her we should have been moved to "walk-in" and she said gruffly that's not how it works and we would probably be seated in the next 15 minutes. Meanwhile, customers who were seated at the bar just minutes after walking in were being served their "salad". After another 15 minutes of waiting we are finally seated and are attended. It was filet mignon night and I ordered the 9oz medium while my friend order the 6oz medium rare. The "salad" that I mentioned before was a iceberg lettuce wedge saturated in ranch dressing. I like ranch but wow. Their idea of a loaded baked potato is butter and sour cream and a pinch of cheese. I would have liked chives and bacon crisps. Disappointing. Finally, I get to cut into what I believe is the filet. It is not only tough but very well done and obviously dry. No moisture and little flavor. My friend's came out juicy and looked great. No issues on that side of the table. When the waitress came by to inquire how we were doing, I mentioned the steak was not exactly what I had ordered and showed her the cut. She asked what seemed rhetorical if I would like a new steak and I surprised myself and said, Yes". She seemed taken aback but said she would have to take my current cut back and I would have to wait another 30 minutes. By this time, we were passive and had nothing else to do. I knew others were waiting to be seated but in today's service industry, I wanted what I ordered - - a good tasty steak. However, the wait was minimal - only 7 minutes! Amazing! This filet was to my satisfaction and most of all, edible. However, I cannot honestly recommend this place to family or friends. There is a Japanese Steakhouse directly across the street with a better atmosphere, a friendly hostess and great food to include filet mignon. I don't blame the waitress. She was busy and doing the best she could. In my view, the business model is simple and effective. However, this restaurant would do better to fire the hostess or find someone who isn't the spawn of Seinfeld's "Soup Nazi and Joy Behar. AND simply take first come, first serve - no call aheads - no second list. Sorry Quincy's - you have to have much better to regain my business. I will not be recommending to anyone this is an establishment worth the visit. read more

Ambiance is great, value is great. Mixed drinks are inexpensive and strong. However, the service and consistency of steaks are very inconsistent. Steaks are often undercooked, tough, and delivered to your table cold. Other times, steaks are hot, cooked to order, and tender. Last time I went with my family, we got seated and waited 45 minutes for service. No one ever came to our table. We left to eat at Eduardo's instead. I often stop in for cocktails in the afternoon before it gets busy. I'll stick to drinking there, but will rarely return for meal service. read more
