Wow! I haven't even had my filet morning and I am already inlove with this place! A great wedge salad and an amazing Ild Fashioned. The lady barkeep is super energetic and knows how to mix a great drink. I drove 933 miles from Cypress, TX today and I am drooling over some good dinner! Way to go Quincy!

You won't find a better deal for a good meal...pretty much anywhere! I don't know how they do it, but I got a 12 oz. bacon-wrapped filet mignon steak, with a salad wedge, and a loaded baked potato, for just $19.95! Wow! ...and you can get a smaller steak for less and up to a 15 oz steak for $22.95. Here's the deal. The ONLY thing on the menu Sunday-Thursday is filet mignon, and the ONLY thing on the menu Friday-Saturday is prime rib. That's all, plain and simple. I like it! We were there on a Monday at 6:30 PM and it was packed!! The other restaurant on the street was completely empty. Our server said during tourist season they are packed but not so much in the off-season. Beer and well drinks are also super cheap. Well drinks are only $3.25 and a call drink is $9.00. The filet mignon was cooked exactly as I ordered it. It wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was the best for the price I paid. My dad and I were both very pleased with our steaks. There were only three people working the entire place and they did a super job. You'll wait a bit for your food and drink, but it'll be worth it! Definitely bookmark this place for dinner if you're in the Monte Vista Area.

    Quincey's

We were staying in Alamosa and looking for a place to eat that was unique and different. We read the reviews and decided to give Quincey's a try. What an absolutely amazing place!! We loved the charm of the building, but the food and drinks were also amazing!! The wedge salad was delicious. The dressing had us all trying to guess what type of dressing they used to make it so exceptional; after all, what can you do to make a wedge salad great? They really made it exceptional! Next was the drinks. We had 4 mixed drinks and two craft beers. They were all exceptional! Even the house Margaritas were really good!! We all had the filet (since we visited on a Tuesday, and that was our only option) and it was well-prepared and perfect. I cannot say enough about this restaurant. To make it even better, with 6 drinks and 4 filets, the ticket (with tip) was only $153.00!! Unbelievable!!! I wish we could visit more often!!! Don't pass up an option to try this great little gem of a restaurant if you are within 60 miles of Monta Vista CO!!

    Perfect medium rare!!!

This is the shining star of the entire San Luis Valley. If you find yourself within a 60 mile radius, make it a priority. The ranch/honey mustard blend is surprisingly amazing and the steaks are perfectly cooked. The horseradish completes the experience. Bravo, Quincy's!!

Be warned. This review is in October 2023, but new ownership is coming in in November. Our visit was great. The restaurant is okay from the outside, but walk in and I found the Ambiance very appealing. It's beautiful and intimate and my wife and I felt very relaxed there. Our server Paris was TOP NOTCH, and why new ownership isn't offering any of the current staff positions is beyond me. I told Paris if the new owners don't beg her to stay, they are not being smart in their decision making already. The steaks were okay, but like other reviews, the consistency was lacking. My steak was fine, but my wife's was overcooked, and even though Paris had them remake it, it still was off. Overall, we did enjoy our experience, and we hope the staff there lands on their feet once they lose their jobs.

Cold potato, Cold stake ! No bueno!!!

This is the third time we've visited Quinceys and this will be the last! Med Rare steak looked and tasted more like it was cooked in the microwave but came out cold. I have not been impressed with this steak house! From the service to the food and water, this place I would not recommend ! Cold potato as well. For only having 1 item on the menu you would think they would have mastered their technique.

15 oz filet (bacon wrapped), baked potato, and bread.

RATING BREAKDOWN Food: 5 | Service: 5 | Ambiance: 4 | Price: 4 PARKING Minimal parking out front. LOCATION/AMBIANCE The restaurant's front looks like a cabin with a steep roof and a balcony above the entrance. Inside, there's a relatively small dining room with a couple of rickety booths where we sat - the waitress warned us. Restrooms were available. THE GRUB + Coffee ($2.50) + Orange juice + Lemon blueberry cake ($4) + Breakfast bowl ($12) + Burrito ($14) - this sucker was huge. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed it. LITTLE YELPER'S CLUB No kids menu, but my kiddos had plenty of options. SERVICE Very amiable service from both our waitress and the owner. MY FAVORITE PART... My breakfast bowl with green Chile! NOT SO FAVORITE PART... The booth seat kept sliding around. My kids were excited to go fishing. Lol. TIPS + Call for their hours before heading there. The owner was super nice on the phone. + They will let you taste the green Chile if you are hesitant about spicier foods.

Food was very good, generous, well priced, but unfortunately, the new hire didn't quite have it together yet. She was unfortunately all on her own for portion of our time there. And was very slow in responding. However, her happy demeanor, smile and apologies. Definitely made up for it. I'm sure what time her expertise will improve. The restaurant looks like a diner from the outside, but is fairly non-descript on the onside - ie. not very diner-like in appearance. However, I had a VERY tasty burger (ordered 'The Burger') with the standard set-up (lettuce, onion, pickles, tomato) and a side of (get this) sauteed broccolini! I like veggies and was absolutely thrilled to find more side offerings than the usual fried stuff. My burger and side veg were really good! The Hubs ordered one of the mac-n-cheese dishes and didn't seem thrilled with it, but said it was OK. They seemed a bit understaffed, but kept checking in with us to say that they'd be with us shortly. And they were. It wasn't a long wait. Maybe I should note that we were here mid-week around 1 PM or so. They didn't seem too busy, but this looks like it might be a small operation. Service was friendly and the restaurant was clean (including the restroom). I'd stop here again if I'm ever in the area.

Don't get me wrong, we love Mexican food, but nothing can beat our TexMex! Beware they are open 7 days a week for the holidays until 5 Jan. They open at 4:30. When you come in, it's beautifully decorated for Christmas! They have a fire burning where you can wait and not definitely had a rustic feel to it! They sat us next to the fire which was really nice for it being cold outside. Our server was very attentive, nice and knowledgeable. The menus were pretty spiffy too as it looked like an old newspaper clipping! They had a variety of steak and also had different animal options like elk & bison. The prices were a bit steep but given the quality and how well they executed the meal, I would say it was well worth it! You are offered a pretzel like bread with butter while ordering. Our waiter was on it and he continued to fill our drinks before we could even ask for more! What we ordered: - Bison ribeye (medium+): this was a gem! If you've never had bison before, don't get scared! It tastes just like cow only it's better for you! The cook was perfection and the seasoning on point! My 13 year old ordered it and devoured it! He had initially asked for A1 sauce but because it was flavored so well, opted not to use it. He said it was one of the best steaks he has ever had! - Ground Elks (medium) w/ chile and grilled onions: it comes dry but our waiter suggested adding green chile and onions to it (beware that's an $11 up charge). It was flavored well, cooked well and tasted amazing. My husband never had elk and said it was really good. Tasted just like ground beef with just a hint of something different. - 12 oz New York sirloin (medium): cooked to perfection, seasoned perfectly and topped it with a garlic/butter compound. My daughter, who rarely eats anything more than a 3oz, ate more than half because she liked it that much. - 10oz ribeye (medium): cooked and flavored to perfection again!! On top of that, it was so tender and melted like butter in my mouth! It was so smooth, and just an amazing quality I hadn't had in such a long time. While ribeye comes fatty, this was utter perfection! I typically only eat about 4-5 oz, but ate the entire thing! If we decide to come back to this area, we will definitely stop here! If you want a good steak, go here!!!
