    Hash browns and meatloaf

Nice, unassuming place with a diner feel. Meatloaf on Tuesday is amazing and portions are substantial. Pies look scary they look so good. Service is always fast and friendly

Homey atmosphere and small town friendly service. Food was delicious. We were passing through and looked on yelp for recommendations. Didn't disappoint

BBQ burger with a salad side order
    Caroline B.

On Valentine's Day, my husband and I decided to try this restaurant which had excellent reviews. When we arrived, there was a large group at one table and our table. It was 12:30 pm when we ordered. I wanted the soup and salad meal, but was informed that the soup of the day was all gone...at 12:30 pm! This was the beginning of the downfall of this restaurant for us. I ended up ordering the Cranberry Walnut Salad and my husband ordered the BBQ burger with a side salad (they did not have fries on their menu). Two or 3 other tables came and were served. Still no order... then, at around 12:55 pm, our lady server came to us apologizing that the kitchen LOST OUR ORDER! What?! It took 25 min for her to realize we did not have our food yet! Well... She re-took our order and we waited again. You'd think that after that big boo-boo, they'd prepare our order right away. NOPE!!! Another 2 or 3 tables were filled and served, still NO FOOD for us. Are you kidding me?! Do they want to feed us? Do they want us to get up and leave? Hmmmm... I was almost tempted to when I called the server again, whereupon she said, oh I was just coming out with your order. It was now 1:20 pm. Server apologized profusely and offered us pies for dessert, so I said, "You should give us a discount instead." (I had no intention of waiting another hour for a piece of pie!) Long story short...the salad was very good and my husband liked his burger. The server came out later and told us that our food was comp'd. Nice way to make up for their boo boos! I could've given the restaurant a one-star because of the inconvenience and aggravation, but since we liked the food and food was free, I am giving The SunFlour Cafe two-stars instead. BTW, my husband and I are retired and just moved to Sanford, so we are basically "locals." I don't think we'll be back though. Food was good, but too stressful to wait 45-50 min for food.

    huevos rancheros
    Sam D.

Ordered the huevos rancheros expecting the traditional eggs, tortillas, salsa, beans, etc. I got eggs on top of undercooked hashbrowns covered in an indeterminate flavorless goop. This is the most bland meal I think I've ever had- coming from someone who doesn't even season their chicken. I was starving but I can't even finish half of this pile of mush it's too unappetizing. 2 stars because the service was great and the cafe itself is very cute

No nondairy milk and almost everything had meat in it. Not a good place if you don't eat meat or prefer nondairy milk.

They never fail to liven up even the worst of days. And the food. The food most of all. The brownies are the most scrumptious, mouth wateringly delicious piece of chocolate I have ever indulged in. The bread tastes like the dough was kissed by angels before being baked. It is salty and crusty but also soft and fluffy. Every piece of food that I have bought from this place has been like heaven on my lips. I have never gone into that heavenly facility without coming out in the best mood of my life. When I dream about this food, I drool in my sleep. Waking up and having the privilege to go here is better than waking up on Christmas morning to a smoking hot husband who gifted me a personal chef. The experiences I have had in this palace of solitude have given me a new perspective of life. If I was reborn and had no idea this place existed, my past self would show me the way of this incredible bakery.

I visited Westcliffe this weekend and was fortunate to have caught this place before they closed on…read morea Saturday. They close at 2:00 pm on Saturdays so plan accordingly if you want to visit this place on a weekend. Also, they're closed on Sundays! I love how this bakery is owned and run by Mennonites. The young lady who waited on me was very polite. One more thing, they're cash or check only! When I realized they're cash only, the young lady asked if she wanted me to hold the pastry I ordered while I got cash at an ATM. If you don't have cash handy, there is an ATM down the street at a grocery store. It's a Wells Fargo ATM. When I arrived back at the bakery, my pastry was waiting for me, all nicely folded up in a bag. It was well after 2:00 pm so I felt that it was thoughtful of her to keep the business open to complete my order. My original order was a raspberry cheese danish. I also ended up ordering a chocolate peanut brownie. I was also "eyeballing" a tray of their cinnamon rolls. I left after purchasing my two pastries and remembered that they're closed on Sundays so I approached the business again to see if I could order a cinnamon roll to go. The young lady was closing up the business for the day when I approached. I asked if she would mind if I purchased a cinnamon roll to go. She obliged without hesitation. Again, this was so thoughtful and such great customer service. I ate my raspberry cheese danish immediately and was very impressed. I later ate some of my cinnamon roll later then finished the rest in Sunday morning. I also devoured the peanut butter brownie on Sunday morning. What impressed me the most about their pastries is that they're not loaded with too much sugar. I find that many bakeries and grocery store bakeries overload their pastries with too much sugar. They nailed it with the right amount of sugar here. The cinnamon roll was huge. It's probably enough for two people. It's also only under three dollars which is impressive as well. When I return to Westcliffe in a few weeks I will definitely return here. I highly recommend this bakery to support local and for great quality pastries for very reasonable prices. Lastly, they sell various breads and jams. I believe another Yelper wrote that they sell breakfast sandwiches. I will order up when I return again. Hope you enjoy as much as I did!
