STEPH JUDGEMENT: Fun for special movie outings…read more We came to see Guillermo Del Toro's "Frankenstein" with our friends and it did not disappoint. We've been to the downtown LA one a couple of times and the drill was the same: You start by scanning the QR code and making the initial order, then during the movie you write down your order on the provided pad and pressing the service call button. You have 20 minutes after the movie ends to settle up your bill; after that they will close it out for you with 20% gratuity. We ordered: - Spicy ranch popcorn (spicy! It's a dry powder so I should've gotten some light butter on it to hold the powder to the popcorn--we kept accidentally inhaling it, doh) - Churro crunch popcorn (not too sweet, with slight salty notes that gave it a really nice touch) - Vegan cauliflower bites with celery and fries (the gochujang sauce was a little too sweet and the fries were limp--just meh) - I got a Pilsner, hubby got an IPA The food was just ok but the service and atmosphere were great. The seats weren't THE most comfortable recliners, as they didn't recline quite as much as the AMC chairs we were used to, but they were fine. One of the best things at these theaters is the 15-20 minute montage they show before the movie that's related to the feature--worth getting there early for. Some of the clips they included were really obscure and funny, like the one from the 1960s where Frankenstein goes to college and becomes a party animal, lol.

I agree with everyone here regarding the QR Code ordering! The preshow entertainment is one of the…read morebest things about this place, but you can't even enjoy it because you're on your phone trying to order food. They should at the very least have either an option to still order on paper, or an order a head option so that you can just order everything before you get there. AMC and Harkins even do that... You can say what time you wanna pick it up and then you can just pick it up on your way in. Since there's no human interaction anyway they might as well just let us do that. I also felt bad for the server because I didn't feel like he deserved what I would normally tip on the bill, but it's not his fault and I'm not sure how they're getting paid. It's not really fair to the workers either. So I tipped low on the app and then I felt bad so I gave him an extra money on my way out. The whole thing just really sucks.

Clues were given out by using our phone to scan the barcode as the mystery progressed. Each table discussed clues and also people could wander to other tables to provide theories of who done it. Only 1 person guessed correctly. My partner and I had handed our photos in as requested. Imagine my surprise when both of us were picked to participate! I was suspect #1 and my partner was "interrogated " by the detectives but it was all in good fun and we took it in stride. The audience were awesome and the actors/staff were very organized and easily flowed with improv (we didn't have scripts). The Embassy Hotel was classy and the perfect setting for the show. We used the hotel valet parking garage for easy access. There was a pre choice of meals (chicken, pork, and vegetarian). Our chicken and pork were good but lukewarm. We ate salad and had cake for dessert. A cash bar was available. We each got a complimentary shot glass, "shots fired" because we did reviews. If you're looking for a interesting night out, go check this out!

Atmosphere & Performance This was The Notebook The Musical…read moreso it is different from the book and the movie. I would say the musical leans more toward a romantic comedy especially compared to the movie and you will definitely notice the differences. That said I still think The Notebook musical is great. I really enjoyed it and it absolutely still has those tearjerker moments. The cast was awesome and everyone sang so beautifully. The performances felt genuine and emotional and the atmosphere in the theater really helped pull everything together. Customer Service Customer service was amazing. Everyone was super friendly helpful and accommodating from the moment we arrived. As soon as I checked in they noticed I was a lottery ticket winner and congratulated me which was really sweet and unexpected. I did not need that but it was still a very thoughtful touch. Staff showed us where to go and once we got closer to our seating area another staff member walked us directly to our seats. Overall everyone was welcoming and made the experience feel smooth and stress free. Pricing & Parking I got my tickets through Lucky Seats. Which is a lottery-style system for discounted tickets. We won two tickets for a total of $78 and our seats were very close to the stage with a great view. Discounted tickets made the experience even better. Parking at DCPA was $17, and they only accept card payments. Parking was convenient, with several nearby options, and it did not feel overwhelming getting in or out. Food & Drinks For food and drinks I paid twenty two dollars total not including tip. I got one Sprite one bottled Sprite one bottle of Coca Cola and a pack of gummy bears. I understand it is for a great cause and supports DCPA but it is a bit pricey. If you need to sneak in your own snacks do what you gotta do. Overall Experience My overall experience was honestly perfect. The performance was amazing the seats were great and the entire night was so much fun. I would absolutely go back again and highly recommend checking out DCPA and one of their shows.

I did notice they have a small menu as well, but we had just come from dinner. The stage comes right up to the first row of tables which makes it a more intimate theater experience. The screens are great and crisp, sound is excellent, but the seats are horrible here. The seat cushions are way too narrow and you feel yourself sliding forward a bit. They are stiff leather seats and outdated. Also, the seats have a big two inch gap at the bottom which makes it easy to lose things behind the seat. The Westminster location has much better seats that recline. The parking is much harder here compared to Westminster. I usually park in their parking lot behind the theater or on side streets but there's also a validated garage across the street. You have to validate at the front desk before you go into your theater and that gives you 4 free hours. It's also a much sketchier location compared to Westminster, especially at night. I came back to my car to see a homeless couple shooting up drugs on the Alamo staircase behind the theater. Just be aware that's a possibility here if getting out late at night. Food is great especially the BBQ chicken pizza. The homemade chocolate chip cookies are usually great but tonight they served me them in a plate that's too cramped for the soft cookies, and they therefore became deformed and fell apart. When you charge $10 for cookies, at least have them on a plate long enough for all 3 cookies like the Westminster location. I haven't been to the Littleton location in CO, but I see no reason to ever go to this location over the Westminster one unless something is only playing here.

I rarely order food or drinks at a movie, but when I have it's been decent here. The seats are older here and not super comfortable, but I'm willing to deal because they play arthouse movies I can't see anywhere else. Parking was rough- the parking lot is tiny and requires validation I think (there was a sign on the door), but if you drive around there is some street parking that has a 3 hour limit. I prefer the location closer to me (there are so many in Denver!) but don't mind stopping in if they are playing something I have to see.
