I got there early and got the table my colleague picked was up stairs and a good view. Our server was great. There is a little coaster that is at the table that you can turn over for service or not if you don't want to be disturbed while watching the show. I ordered my food while waiting as I know there were two showing and I kind to eat or have most of my food eaten so I can enjoy the show. I started off with the jalapeno bacon wrapped poppers and the focaccia bread. the popper were not big and bulky and had a great smokey flavor to the bacon, which were probably put the on grill and not pan or oven cooked. I'm not a big bread person, but when I am out I'll usually eat and the foccacio was great and I needed to soak up the wine I was having with my food. For the main course I got the Shrimp and Grits, because it's a jazz club and southern joint. Oh my they were good. Just the right amount of spice to the gravy. The music was also great and the ambiance was really good too. I think I'll be heading to Yoshis a little more as it's been years that I've been to a venue like this. I recommend pre booking the valet for $15. Then you check in at the front table and someone takes you to your table. For first times be aware some tables are communal. The food here is just alright. The performer's always are into the show and we have left happy with the performance and sound quality.

We had had a terrible experience trying to deal with a different company originally and we ended up having to find another company and I am so so glad we found the Mystery Cafe. First off, Brian, who is the owner, was just fantastic all around, responsive, accommodating, kind, and organized. The night of the actual performance, I did not feel nervous at all, he and I had communicated multiple times and also already tested all of the electronics weeks prior to the event, it went off without a hitch. It was fun because it did require audience participation, but it was not too high pressure and they made the atmosphere just so light and exciting and it was FUNNY! There was so much humor and I found myself laughing a lot more than I had thought that I would. 10/10 would recommend. They came to our event, there were 3 actors and I must say, I think that the cost was very fair and reasonable. Great time!

Overall, it is still a great movie theater, and if you do not want to read the rest of my review, I absolutely recommend trying it at least once. Let's start with the mostly positive aspects. We ordered the new Jumbo Mozzarella Sticks. I really liked them. My wife thought they were average, but I think they are a big improvement over the old mozzarella sticks, and I would order them again. My biggest issue is that, for $13 plus tax, you only get five, and "jumbo" is not the right word. They are only slightly larger than an average mozzarella stick. At that price, at least include eight. I also love the atmosphere and ambience. Whether you are walking through the hallways or entering the theater, it just feels comfortable. I am not sure what they have done, but it just feels good! The projectors continue to impress me. They seem brighter, sharper, and more detailed than those at any other movie theater I have visited. Absolutely fantastic. The staff is also consistently excellent. Everyone has always been incredibly kind, and I have never really had an issue with customer service. I have also enjoyed their Loaded Fries with Queso and several milkshakes, although I miss some of the flavors they removed from the menu. Now for the negatives and why this is no longer a 5-star experience. First, the seats do not recline far enough. I am 6 feet tall, and I always wish they reclined a little farther. I feel like I am sitting closer to a 90-degree angle than I would prefer. Next, I understand that we went to "The Big Show" for a major movie release, but our entire group complained about the volume. It was far too loud, to the point that it hurt my ears during several scenes and I had to cover them. Even lowering it by 10% may have made the loud scenes more comfortable while leaving the quieter scenes perfectly audible. During this visit, I ordered one of their newer pizzas, the BBQ Chicken Pizza. I immediately regretted it. Friends and family have warned me that pizza is one of the weaker menu items. Unfortunately, they were right. The pizza was not good, and I would never order it again. My biggest complaint was how sweet it was. I do not know if they use too much BBQ sauce or an extremely sweet sauce, but it overpowered everything else. On top of that, the pizza was incredibly salty. It almost reminded me of eating popcorn. We did not get popcorn during this visit, so I know it was not coming from that. The cost? $20.40 with "extra ranch drizzle" added on. Yikes. I also have mixed feelings about the new mobile ordering system. I can see the pros and cons, and this was our first time using it, so maybe it will become easier with repeated use. That said, if I could wave a magic wand and go back to the old pen-and-paper system, I probably would. Everyone else in my group felt the same way. The biggest advantage is not having to wait for the check at the end of the movie. That part was genuinely nice. However, it feels strange to pull out my phone during a movie just to order food or request a refill. The Alamo built its reputation on minimizing distractions and discouraging phone use, yet customers now have to use their phones to order. That feels backwards. Also, connect to their unsecured Wi-Fi or you may have trouble using the ordering system. As someone who works in IT, entering my credit card information over an unsecured Wi-Fi network made me uncomfortable. The payment process needs work too. Manually entering my entire credit card number while sitting in the theater was frustrating. Apple Pay, Google Pay, or the ability to securely save a payment method to an Alamo account would make the experience much smoother. I considered giving this theater 3 stars, but that felt too harsh because I still genuinely enjoy coming here. I have had much better food in the past, and I still think this is one of the better movie theater experiences around. I will be back, but this is not going to be our go-to theater. They charge premium prices for the food, but you are not always getting a premium product. Fortunately, the ticket prices seem to be on par with other theaters. It feels like things have slipped over the past few years. The food is much more hit-or-miss than it used to be, and I am not convinced the mobile ordering system is an improvement. My advice: skip the pizza. The food here is either fantastic or disappointing. There does not seem to be much middle ground. Overall, I still recommend the Alamo Drafthouse, and I will absolutely be back. I just hope these recent changes improve because this used to be an easy 5-star theater for me.

Enough has changed since my initial review to warrant an update here. For one thing, they closed…read more.. but then they reopened. There was also a pandemic that they survived, although moviegoing culture is definitely not the same. In 2026, the two big, unique features of Alamo Drafthouse are technically still true: (1) restaurant-quality food and drink are served to your seat, and (2) they threaten to kick you out without a refund if you talk or use your phone during the movie. The latter claim is dubious, since I've often observed talking and texting that went unpunished, even after I reported it once. People here are more respectful on average, though. The food situation has changed a bit recently. For one thing, it seems like the menu rotates a lot. They often have themed items based on the big movie of the time. You can expect the kind of food you'd find at a modern American pub, but with elevated prices, this being a movie theater after all. However, they recently started directing all orders to be transacted in their app. It is an imperfect system that I've tolerated. It can be a lot more difficult to communicate nuances with your order, and there doesn't seem to be a way to simply request some water. They want you to not use your phones during the movie, even though they clearly want you to order stuff using your phone. Between all that and the prices, I've found myself discouraged from ordering food. I have a long, long history with seeing movies in cinema complexes, and I am convinced that Auditorium #5 (aka "The Big Show") at this location has the best presentation around. If I am excited to see a movie and it is going to have fancy visuals and sound, I make sure to book a ticket in that specific auditorium. So that should tell you something. They have a real culture of movie fandom going on, with their curated slate of classic movies and pre-show vintage movie content. They also regularly show beloved kids movies. The employees are invariably helpful and enthusiastic, even if it is increasingly easy to avoid interacting with anyone. So I'm content to keep coming here for movies whether or not I'll order the expensive, so-so food.

Chanhassen Dinner Theatres is one of the last remaining dinner theatres in the United States and it…read morethe largest dinner theatre in the country. CDT has been open since 1968 and has been the launching pad for many actors who have become famous. It has several stages and the main stage is the one that has the dinner theatre. I have been to this theatre dozens of times over the years. The show that I saw recently was Guys and Dolls. CDT tends to present the classics, but does there own updating and choreography. This musical had a live orchestra. The shows at CDT are very high quality and to me are equivalent to the theatres in Minneapolis and St. Paul such as the Orpheum and the State Theatre. The quality of actors is excellent, as is the production value of the shows. Show-only tickets may be reserved no earlier than ten days prior to a Main Stage performance date, based upon availability, so let's talk about the dinner part of the dinner theatre. Honestly, this is not exactly their strong point. However, the value of the dinner is stated to be $22, which is not exactly a very large amount. The most famous choice is the Chicken Chanhassen, which I think is very good. You can order extra drinks, dessert, etc. and that is where their profit margin lies. All in all, this is an excellent theatre and represents our area well in terms of the arts and theatre.

The food is very standard. It has always needed an upgrade. Recommended, by now it is an institution.

Hi! I took one…read moreof my daughters to the Historic Mounds Dinner Theater all night pajama party a couple of nights ago, and we had such a great time! The paranormal team there was very warm and friendly as well as accomodating (Thank you, Lisa, especially!) We experienced lots of scary moments, and the activities held our interest as well as our enthusiasm. We especially enjoyed the ghost hunt and investigation! I so appreciate the good time that the staff there showed my daughter. She said she still can't stop talking about it; said she's obsessed with it now, and tells everyone all about our night there! We're both looking so forward to doing it again and my daughter, Christy said, "And next time I won't be so scared! I'll be able to keep my eyes open through the whole thing!" (She's so adorable.) My husband and I had been to the theater back in October on a ghost tour and we, too, had so much fun there together! In addition to that, we attended the Twin Cities Gangs History movie there; we enjoyed it immensely! There's not only the paranormal part of the theater activities, but there is an incredible amount of history there to be enjoyed, and appreciated. I had such a fun time, and met a bunch of new people. I have now done two shows and in progress of my third and it has lived up to almost all of my expectations for a community theatre company. Obviously, with community theatre, there will be set backs and unfriendly people, but it isn't about that. It is about the pieces of art that you bring to life on stage and the one thing you all have in common, which is the love of theatre. I would highly recommend this company to ANYONE who would like to watch a show or be apart of one!

I thought it was fun to be in a show at first, and I really liked the directors, but some of the kids who have been in a lot of these shows together are just real jerks! At first I thought it was just normal stuff that happens all the time. Like the leads pretty much ignored anyone who wasn't a lead, and they hang out together after rehearsal every night and never invited anyone else. I wasn't surprised at that stuff. But then some of them decided to have their own secret cast party at the same time as the cast party that everyone was invited to! They lied about why they didn't come to the party when they were really just going to their own special party. WTF. They could of had their special party any time. And I guess these same kids are the leads in pretty much every show, so I'm just not going to be in any more shows there. Maybe you think I'm a whiner and a big baby, and like, that's just life or whatever, but why should I spend my time with a bunch of people who think they're better than me? And you have to pay to be in the show, so now my parents are PAYING so people can treat me like that? No thanks. If you think I'm being a big baby, then YOU can pay $150 to spend six weeks with people who treat you like you're nothing. Also maybe you don't think it's not fair for me to review a place with few stars because the other kids are jerks, but I'm just here to warn you. It's clicky to be in one of these junior shows, so just know that going into it.

Was there for a Library conference and I also went on behalf of my recently departed man. A huge Prince fan and had subscribed to the NPG music club. Iykyk. He was supposed to come with me and we would have come together. Its a big property and pretty much left as it was. There is a security check and you are to turn your phone off and put it in a phone lockable holder. No pictures for the majority of the tour. Which is fine because you can pay attention to the tour guide. Its was strange because you can still feel his spirit, just like when I visited Gracela nd. Toward the end of the tour there is a area they let you take photos. Over all a great hour spent. The gift shop is not huge and overwhelming. You can get stickers, mugs, shirts, key chains, and LPs (records for you younger readers) I opted go for the umbrella that the drops on it turn purple in the rain.
