I booked a Deep Tissue massage and red light therapy package at the Diplomat Spa and had very good service by the staff. The Spa is very serene and relaxing with its relaxation room, steam room, and hot sauna. I also enjoyed the showers which were well equipped and with great water pressure. My Deep Tissue massage was very good although because of my back pain, I asked the therapist not to go too deep to avoid pain and discomfort. The red light therapy was also relaxing and a nice add on. I am not sure of how effective therapy this is but was given headphones with relaxing music to add to the experience. With my spa services I was also able to use the Diplomat Hotel amenities including pool and beach. Although the pool area was very crowded even on a Monday afternoon and many children, not great if you want to relax, so I headed back to the spa early. read more

Absolutely stunning hotel/resort/spa. Went specifically for the spa to get a full body massage. The staff at the front was so friendly and courteous, Teki and Venus are gems and explained the whole process perfectly. Made sure all our questions were answered and even went above to help us find a great spot for lunch. The therapist Josefina and Sharon were amazing and did an amazing job making us feel welcome and relax. Terrible service. I get a deep tissue every month. I booked an 80 minute deep tissue it was NOT deep tissue at all. I asked for focus on the hips, she didn't touch my hips once. At the end I was asked how I felt. I said, " about the same." Then the therapist started yelling at me and wagging her finger in my face. Also, there was no hot water in showers and the steam room requires you to exit every 2 minutes to turn it make on. The manager was very nice, but it's not worth the trouble. I was at a conference this week and decided to indulge in a signature massage prior to departing. I have visited several spas and experienced many massages in my day - and I must say, this was by far one of my best massages to date! The spa staff was so helpful and pleasant! They recommended I come earlier to enjoy the sauna and relax (I followed instructions and was not disappointed. My massage therapist, Giovanni, extremely professional, and very sweet asked of any concern areas (which were many) and I must say - my pains melted away! I had a great day time here with a friend of mine. We can here for a massage during September when there are many specials around. I like this location because it's on the water and the view is spectacular. The massage was ok not great but my time with my friend was immeasurable. The waiting room also was nice - it had water and fruit and Jura which added a nice touch. I loved the steam and the sauna which to me is always a beautiful part of the experience. I feel like a new woman! Completely refreshed in good spirits and walking on cloud 9. It is a full relaxation experience from beginning to end. Plan to spend a full day to get the most out of your experience. The spa is situated in the back of the diplomat resort. As I arrive to the resort, I am greeted by valet who directs me to where the spa is located. Upon entering this beautiful resort, I realize how huge this place is. Its like a little city inside, the lobby is lined with palm trees, and offers several amenities, restaurants, and bars. As I make my way to the rear of the facility and into the spa lobby, I am greeted by Teki, the front desk agent. She is the sweetest girl. Super friendly, great smile, and just as excited as I am about my spa services. She checks me in for my services and brings me to the back to meet Monique, the spa attendant. Monique walks me through the spa facility to get me acclimated with all of the amenities accessible to me. I feel a great sense of calm as I walk through the facility. The soothing sounds of nature coming from the surrounding speakers, and the sounds of water flowing brings you to a place of tranquility. I take a deep breathe and take in the fresh aroma as I walk through the relaxation area. After making some Jasmine tea, I meet with the rest of my girls in the relaxation area. I sit back, relax and await my massage services. Judy, my massage Therapist ,met me in the relaxation area to escort me to my room for my aromatherapy massage. As she explains the massage, she allows me to explore the different aromatic oils to choose from. After choosing my oil, she instructs me how to lay on the massage table and leaves the room so I can remove my robe. Although, I prefer deep tissue massages, the aromatherapy massage is very light, soothing, and refreshing. As I fall in and out of a light sleep, Judy takes her time and focuses on the areas needing a little more attention. After 50 minutes, I am completely relaxed and gliding on air. She escorts me back into the relaxation area to meet the rest of my party. After relaxing for a little, I then explore the steam room and suana room to rejuvenate my body. My group and I, decide to enjoy the weather and sit out by the pool to have lunch and a few drinks. In celebration of my friend's birthday, we book a poolside cabana. A poised man by the name of Rolande, escorts the group of us to the cabana, and he is eager to have us. He introduces the waitress and the cabana boy who will be assisting us for the day. The poolside cafe, Playa, offers a Latin flare menu. It has a variety of choices to cater to a few diet restrictions, if any. We order a few appetizers, Chicken wings, tropical guacamole, yucca fries, and a blackened fish sandwich. The chicken wings are coated with a dry rub, and served with white cheese crumbled on top and dipping sauces on the side. The tropical guacamole is addicting and is immediately my favorite. It has chopped pieces of mango, Chipotle sauce, white mexican cheese crumbles on top, and served with tortilla chips. Every bite is impressive. The fish sandwich is well seasoned and super moist and flaky. Completely stuffed from the appetizers, there isnt enough room for the fish sandwich so we wrap it for later. Enjoying the food, the attendants check on us periodically, as we sit by the pool chit chatting over mojitos, catching up with our busy lives. We spend the entire day at the pool, conversing, laughing, and reminiscing. Since the spa closes at 7p, we make our way back to the spa around 6p to dress and check out. Happy to see Monique still attending to the spa, we tell her how amazing the day has been as she escorts us out to the lobby to check out. As I write my review and eagerly share my experience, I have the urge to rewind the hands of time to take me back. Since that is not possible, I will have to book again very soon. If you are looking for five star service and an ultimate experience of relaxation this is the place. read more

I had the most relaxing and beautiful experience at the spa today. I had the body scrub, followed by organic facial. My background is in the spa industry where worked ifor over 15 years. When I go to a spa I am usually a bit apprehensive. I recommend the Spa at the Diplomat hotel in Hollywood Beach Florida 100%. I will go there again in a couple of weeks. Awful! Awful! Experience. Massage was booked for 80 min, deep tissue.I asked the therapist for 2 things: 1. to focus on just my back, my arms and legs not to be touched, as I have fibromyalgia in them and 2. for more than most people would tolerate on pressure. I had to remind the therapist (in the first half hour) 4 times to increase the pressure, and then I gave up. I asked for her to NOT touch my legs 3 times, as I held back tears. When checking out I shared my experience. They offered me a very minimal discount and REFUSED to remove gratuity, enough though I did not give them permission to tip. The resolution with management was completely unsatisfactory, as was the service. read more

The accommodations are spectacular inside to provide you with water tea and small snacks. The relaxation area was large with lots of seating the ambience was phenomenal. Girls at the front desk were great tho they were really concerned with getting paid which I thought was strange since I was a guest at the hotel. First time I've ever had to pay for the massage in full at the time of booking with a 20% tip- I was subsequently asked to pay two more times before I even had my service. Prior to this experience (I've had a TON of massages at a lot of hotels and spas across several cities) I have never had to pay for a service BEFORE it was performed. I would be more accepting of this faux pas if it wasn't for the lack of value I quickly noticed from the amenities: The bathrobe they give you is this dingy yellow square patterned sandpaper feeling drape and the flip flops were these dirty looking thick plastic things. Oh and you know that pleasant smell of eucalyptus you usually get when you walk into the spa and especially the steam room?! Well you don't get that here, at all, so forget about it... I wish that was the worst part: sauna doesn't get hot enough and you can't adjust it and hotter/ The steam room takes forever to get going so you have to get there a half hour early to set it before you do anything else if you plan on enjoying it prior to your massage - meantime you're sitting in there with the ceiling sweating on you. Once you finally get it going you better hope a tour doesn't come around to open the door, let all the steam OUT to show other guests what a half naked person trying to enjoy a peaceful spa experience looks like. And if you're really lucky she won't take your flip flops from the steam area and claim she didn't see you (after saying hello earlier when she opened the steam door ) causing you to nearly slip and fall on your way out of steam to grab your robe. One of the showers has a handle hanging, the other had an empty bottle of aromatherapy locked to the wall, neither were very clean. Really subpar experience for a hotel spa that charges over $200 for a 50 minute massage that you need to pay for in advance of the service. That being said, the view of the beach from the calming room where you wait for your masseuse is lovely and David did a great job listening to my concerns and addressing them during my massage! read more

I had such a great time getting this hot stone massage. Lotus was my massage therapist and she was nothing short of spectacular. She uses the perfect amount of pressure and her hands are magic. Her professionalism and friendliness stand out. I came in with a sore back and stressed, then left with a big smile on my face, counting the days until I get another visit for my birthday. This place is a major joke. I am currently attending a 15K event and this spa refused to cancel my pedicure after my room got flooded from a broken toilet next door and had to be moved to another room. I understand their 8hr cancellation policy but my room leaked of disgusting toilet water that I stepped on since it's next to my bed. The hotel itself was nice enough to move me to a better room and sent a bellboy to help me move. Still, it took me a long time to get resettled and the spa was adamant about adhering to their cancellation policy eventhough it wasn't my fault. There was no way that I could've made my appointment in an hour or 2. After all I stepped in toilet water and had to shower again, unpack my things and get resettled!!!! Disgusting! I threatened to contest their charge with my Amex and that's when their director called me and offered me a complimentary pedicure. No thank you! You could've done that in the beginning. You had me stay on the phone for a good 45min while the plumber and servicemen were coming in and out of my room as I await for the bellboy to show up. I was not mad at the hotel for the leak as I understand that things happen. I was unhappy that the spa didn't show a little more compassion considering that I was highly inconvenienced for the incident. I will not be back. read more

I purchased a 50 minutes aromatherapy massage from Groupon for $99 and a $35 service fee is added. I could have done a hot stone massage for the same price but I prefer Swedish. I always tip on the original non discounted prices of services (which would have been $175) so the service fee was fine and it was nice that they told me in advance when I booked. My massage itself was great. The relaxation room is very pretty but there is currently construction going on and the sound of the waterfall didn't drown out the hammer. Also the curtains were drawn in the ocean view room to hide the scaffolding. If I hadn't scored a discounted massage, I would have found the construction pretty annoying. Instead I found it mildly annoying. (Also they did not mention the construction when I booked). I enjoyed the steam room. There is also a sauna. If you are a local and if you have flexibility on dates, I would definitely inquire about the construction when you book. read more

After confirming the time and service, the receptionist advised me that the total would be $129 as there is a 20% service charge on all treatments. ( extra $10 service charge for "free" Eye treatment) So I asked if that covered the gratuity and she danced around the question by saying that it was distributed among all staff. I reluctantly agreed (I've been to a a lot of spas on my time and never been charged a service fee) Upon arriving there was no one to meet me - eventually a gentleman appeared, checked me in and showed me to the ladies' locker room. I found a locker, changed and has a sauna before I saw another staff member who was then "surprised" to see me. When I was ready to leave there were two receptionists neither of whom even acknowledged me as they were busy chatting. The facilities are really nice - gorgeous ocean view lounge area - and my masseuse (James) was good although I had to remind him about the eye treatment which ended up being a patch put under your eyes for 5 minutes. But to charge 20% service charge and then provide no service to back it up is ridiculous if I'd had great service then fine - or just raise the overall treatment prices Huge potential- needs some better management read more

Worst facial I've ever had steamer was broken and the experience was so disappointing . It was a Mothers Day surprise from my son because he knew how much I loved my last facial there 2 years ago before they closed for Covid. When I explained to the receptionist that having a facial without a steamer ( which I only found out during the facial ) is like having a hot stone massage without heating up the stones and then the girl started corn rowing my hair like this was a gift (Seriously). I told her I didn't want to upset my son it was a $300 facial but I needed a mgr to compensate him in some way not a full refund but something . Bottom line they said there was nothing they could do and after speaking to a second mgr they offered me 20% off my next service. Thanks but no thanks. I also found out they just took over the spa in March which explains a lot.
