I have mixed feelings about this place but am overall satisfied. Absolutely delicious Salmon pastrami sandwich - 5stars The best pickled onions I've ever had Good Dirty chai Tuna melt - it was good but they only gave me 3 pieces of toast and one piece was over done. So I feel like I got 3 quarters of a sandwich and paid $14. Bad Latte - mediocre. Just barely warm barely flavored milk driving out espresso.

I was in the area, looked at the reviews and thought I'd give it a shot. You can't wrong with a sausage and egg and cheese. Sweet waitresses and staff. Nice I indoor and outdoor seating. 10/10. Really delicious seg. Very easy to get it wrong but they may have just created one of the best I've had. It did get a little messy since everything was on a brioche roll but I'd have it again in a heartbeat.

I found the service very friendly and down to earth, love local places like this where you have people that know the area and tell you about it as you order. The brioche bun sandwich, the bread was pillowy soft and toast just right, eggs were fried alright, although a runny sunny egg would been better, cheese was thoroughly melted, never a fan of cold cheese on a hot sandwich. For the cookies, just awesome, chewy and very soft, surprisingly since little cookies tend to be on dried out side.

We stopped in for dinner on a whim. They are only open for dinner Friday and Saturday and have a small menu, but everything sound delicious. We opted to share the pork belly sliders (3) and the short rib poutine. Both were excellent. Very flavorful. The sliders were very balanced with enough acid and crunch to really stand out. I'd definitely have those again. The poutine had depth of flavor to the gravy and the cheese curds were crisped before going into the dish, a nice touch. We ended with the butterscotch pudding for dessert which was subtly sweet until you got the caramel drizzle on top. Overall an excellent meal, and we will definitely be back.

Im not exaggerating or doing a bit or anything when I say this. I have no skin in the game with this place so keep that in mind when you read this review. Hands down, no contest, the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. The one with the mortadella on it blew me away. Honestly, I wasn't even sure I was going to like it because it sounded too crazy for what I wanted at the time but man, I was wrong. Fresh ingredients, soft egg, bouncy warm roll, savory delicious breakfast sauce. It really changed the standard for what a breakfast sandwich should be. I walked in, first welcomed by a cute, clean cafe. The vibes in there were phenomenal. I can imagine sitting there all day sipping on a slow drip coffee reading a book. When I walked up to the counter the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I said "I heard this place was good, give me your most popular item." After I ate my breakfast I went back in to purchase some of their in house made items to go because I don't live close and I needed to try EVERYTHING. I started sending everyone I know to this place. Normally I try to post funny reviews but really there's nothing to joke about here. 100/10 this place needs more than 5 stars.

So yeah as you can imagine this place is pricey and is definitely for a special occasion. On this visit we had exceptional service and they even brought us free caviar! I have seen them do this before. We had a girls night here one time and one of my friends got there early. As she waited they gave her a complimentary glass of champagne. This type of customer service is amazing and is what is expected of an establishment of this caliber. I mean a room at the hotel here will cost you about $1000 a night. So as you can guess it is not unusual to see celebrities here as well. Before I get into the food I will tell you what made me give them 3 stars. One morning I brought a friend here that was going through something. I wanted to treat her to a nice breakfast. We sat on there terrace by the fire pits. As I've said before I've been here often. The waiter who was not as friendly as I've had before told me in order to eat there I needed to put a card on file. Huh? I've never seen that before but okay sure. I mentioned how I would likely order something to go to for my husband at the end of our meal. The service was not great because they did not come back and when they finally did they swiped my card and gave me the final check. Huh? I never said I was finished and again I had already mentioned I wanted to order something to go. When I asked this new waitress ( the original guy was no where in sight) why they ran my card already because I specifically said I wanted to order something to go her nonchalant response was that she could just run it again. I've thought about that experience. It felt so off and I would have said something more at the time but again I was having breakfast with a friend who was going through something. Not the time to complain. So when I met someone who worked there at a diffrent event. I shared my experience and asked if this is a policy of there's to put a card on file to eat on the terrace. As you can guess it is not. Unfortunately, as you can imagine I felt discriminated against. I guess our waiter assumed I wouldn't pay my check and wanted to make sure he had my card and he swiped it as soon as he saw us take the last bites on our plates. After I talked to this employee I did write the restaurant to let them know of this experience and sadly I got no reply. I will say I have been back since then and did not get treated that way. But I felt like it's important to let others know. This is by no means a cheap restaurant especially in the economy! I would expect not to be made to feel the way I felt that day and would never want at one to feel that way. Benefit of the doubt maybe that waiter did have someone run out on his check in the past and wanted to ensure it did not happen again. I can understand that because I know some restaurants make the waiter pay for those walkouts, which is also not fair to them. It would have been nice though that when I contacted them about the situation they would have acknowledged what happened. And maybe just better training on how to go about the situation to make sure their customers don't feel like you assume they are criminals. Okay the food. First there French fries are a favorite. Random I know but I appreciate a good fry. The steak was cooked perfectly and the cocktails were got were a 10! I've had food from the breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu. The food is farm to table and I love sitting either outside or by the open kitchen as you watch the chefs cook. All and all I say it's worth going even for a cocktail. Sometimes they have live music playing and it's super cute for a nice date night. They do valet parking and have tons of charging stations.

We stumbled on the Inn at the Ridge through some Google searching. We only spent two nights, Friday and Saturday, so we were treated to Sal's weekend cooking. Easily among the best food at a B&B that we've ever had. When I booked, I didn't realize that I had booked the one room with a disconnected bathroom. Yes, it's private, but downstairs. Since the Inn wasn't completely full, they offered to relocate us to another open room, we didn't ask, they just suggested it. The house is old, like real old, so expect some quirks like wide creaky floors etc. The beds were quiet though, which was the important thing. Each room is uniquely decorated. The Inn is a nice distance from busy areas but not so far as to be a hardship. It's extremely close to Angry Orchard's Innovation cider mill, a state park with great trails, and even a little college town. I could probably go on, but Yelp's review editor is giving me issues. We'd definitely stay here again if we're in the area.

Our room was very comfortable with a king-sized bed. The location was perfect - close to Minnewaska state park, as well as several nearby towns and a few good restaurants. The breakfasts were the highlight of the experience! One of the hosts is a CIA-trained chef and he made fabulous food for us - chocolate-stuffed french toast, a great frittata, and more. They serve breakfast at a communal table, which is nice for getting to talk to the other guests there. We would definitely stay here again.

Boy, are there a lot of post-hike options in New Paltz. I stopped by here this past Saturday…read moreafternoon after an 8.7-mile hike in nearby Minnewaska State Park. The weather had been pretty mediocre throughout the day but that clearly hadn't stopped the tourists from invading the downtown area - the place was teeming with people when I came in around 3pmish. I didn't do a ton of research on potential eating spots (a lot of SE Asian eateries, which seemed kind of random?) but picked Lola's because it was a block or two from where I parked, and I immediately imprinted on the Short Rib Grilled Cheese when I saw it on the online menu. Decision made. Since it was starting to get a little nicer out, I would have liked a spot outside in the front patio. But the girl at the check-in (I feel like there's a much better term for that) asked me to go inside, which for sure was a bias against the fact that I was a solo diner. I get it in theory, but it's not fun to get treated like a second-class citizen because you don't have a posse with you in a tourist trap. Regardless, the interior was fine; looked like it had been redone within the last year or so; what it lacked in personality it made up for in terms of overall spiffiness (and the area where the personality DID come through was in the bathroom area, with tongue-in-check "Whatever" gender signs on the doors and edgy art by the sinks. Tell me you're a college town without telling me you're a college town.). The set-up in here is more casual than I assumed; I was told that my table was #10 (the numbers were clearly marked on each table, reminiscent of Smashburger), and that once I decided what I wanted, I needed to go up to the counter to order. Someone WOULD serve the food, but a big chunk of the experience is DIY. I ordered the aforementioned Short Rib Grilled Cheese w/ Fries, along with a Diet Pepsi, and waited. I thought this was pretty inefficient, as there were plenty of employees nearby who easily could have just taken my order at the table instead of having me sit down, then stand up and walk across the restaurant to order, and then sit back down. The wait was a little longer than I would have guessed, just given the straightforward order and casual, almost fast-food style to the business model; it took close to 20 minutes to get my sandwich, I'd guess. Not egregious, and there WERE a number of other customers on the premises as well. The Grilled Cheese was just okay - I tend to grade on a curve after a hike, but I thought it was really drippy/greasy, and I wasn't crazy about the tomato compote it came with (which is a personal palate preference and something that WAS specifically referenced on the menu and I didn't request its exclusion; easy to remove, regardless). The short ribs aspect was unsurprisingly the best part. The fries were decent; a little pale but cooked through. There was a pickle hidden underneath them that was a little emotionally upsetting but it is what it is. This was fine and could have been worse, but the next time I'm in town I'm going to keep walking down the street and trying one of the many other options nearby. The target demo for this feels a little more 2am college student than hungry hiker in the afternoon.
