Hot Honey Chicken Burger (with sauce on side)
Amy Y.

We came here as recommended by our friends who are locals here. There wasn't a wait coming in on a Wednesday night. The environment was comfortable, with the tan booths and dimmed lighting, gave off a hip diner vibe. First thing was our service was great, waitress was very friendly and personable! She apologized for one of the meals taking longer than expected. I think coming from the city, we had a specific expectation of diner food and as our first meal in Rochester, this did not meet standards as much as we wanted to. We each got drinks during HH, which was a plus and they were great! Our friend's boneless buffalo wings were also a hit, either spicy or mild flavors. My chicken burger was well fried, although lacked some of flavor (even with the sauce) The chips that came along with the order were overcooked, too crunchy and were tough to swallow. My partner's chicken tacos were dry and tasted pretty bland. I'd give this place another go because of their service & ambiance, and would love to try another one of their recommended meals!

It was nice and quiet after lunch, about 2:30. Our server answered our questions and was very nice. Drinks came out quickly and we ordered. The food took a bit of time but we were pretty hungry, lol. The food was hot and fresh and delicious. The steak was cooked perfect med rare for the salad and the dressing was great. The Mac and cheese was hot and melty and the chicken was not overcooked! It was grilled nicely and moist. Our pretzel was warm and the pizza was very good. Just the right amount of cheese and sauce. The crust had a great flavor too. My onion soup was perfect, nice flavor, not too salty and a good amount of cheese.

Food was delicious as always! To start: For him- French onion soup We split a large house salad He had ranch, I had balsamic vinaigrette For dinner: Him-Mushroom Swiss burger with French fries Me- Shrimp appetizer (I had a late lunch) To drink: water and ginger beer The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because they were understaffed. We had to sit inside rather than out because of this. Our server was hustling all over the place! The ambiance is always very inviting and smells great. Perk: They give you rewards points if you use the same card every time you visit.

We had a birthday party for my brother-in-law and eight of us ate at the original Distillery on Mount Hope Avenue. It's been a while since I had been to this location, but it seemed about the same. The service was good, our waitress was nice and she split the bill up after we Finished because we had three different families there. She also put the Yankee game on which I appreciate , even though the Yankees were getting their butts kicked! I ordered the Friday fish fry, which was a huge piece of haddock with pretty good french fries is not the crispiest ever but they were good. And coleslaw on the side. It was a tasty dish overall. My wife ordered the chicken wings and I guess they were really good because she didn't offer me any -lol! She said they were very good. They had quite a selection of beer and drinks there too. Including my favorite, which is Green City from Other Half brewing. All in all a good place to go eat still. If you're into sports, there are plenty of TVs to watch!

With speedy service and a smile I received my cheese pizza which was mozzarella and a tasty sauce and was yummy. There is a bar to grab wine or beer.Choices on the menu include pizza, wings, burgers. Soups, salads , pasta and sandwiches.Lots of parking in their lot.

***3.5 stars*** Popular after-work bar and grill for people who work at the U of R and the hospital. Lots of overhanging TVs, plenty of draft beers and a huge list of food items makes for a good time. They offer a lot of happy hour deals, including $6 dollar appetizers and drink specials. The ambiance is cozy without being stuff. There's a lot of wood and it feels cabin-y. There's also a covered outdoor patio that's good for those warm days in Rochester. Overall a decent bar, serving decent food and drink. While I don't think i've ever gotten anything bad from The Distillery, I also don't think i've ever had anything noteworthy. Still that doesn't mean you can't have a good time at The Distillery and it's definitely worth checking out.

We used to come to this place 17 years ago and we were regulars. After moving away, we don't get to come back often so this was one of the very few times. The atmosphere is sports bar with many tvs and decent beers. The wings are the highlight and the reason we love it. We get extra crispy hot wings and they do not go to waste! The service today was great. Brenna was super friendly and helpful. We had a group of 6 and had many questions which she answered very graciously. After 17 years it hasn't lost its draw for us.

Half eaten poutine (top left), tater tots (left) and the wings (right).

Good for beer and large screen sports viewing. I'd categorize their food as above average bar offerings.

When we entered the sports bar the tunes were going and drinks were flowing, definitely a place I can see as hopping for events. We were seated in the back and luckily we knew what we wanted to order, I split some tenders with the little yelper and misses ordered the mozzarella sticks. The mozz sticks were nice crispy and had that cheese stretch which is always good. The tenders though, hand breaded which is nice but they were really overcooked, to the point the breading had that weird taste to it. Neither of us were really impressed by the 3 tenders, but we powered down 2 of them thanks to some ketchup , Nashville hot and bleu cheese. As great as the waitress was , next time it'll be just beverages.

We ate outside on the enclosed patio on a rare and perfect 72 degree sunny not humid day. We were told it could be an hour to be seated but our text message came in after barely 10 minutes. Our server was friendly and service overall was prompt. The Mac and Cheese was enjoyable and I took home the leftovers and ate them later. It wasn't as cheesy or luscious as I might have hoped, it was just enough cheese to do the job. The finely diced chicken had good fire grilled flavor but was pretty dry. They offer a Buffalo version of their mac and cheese but there are several hot sauces on the table. Not sure how much difference there would be between their buffalo mac and just sprinkling hot sauce on the mac and cheese with plain chicken which is what i did. The chicken salad wrap was satisfactory and VERY generously filled. It was really almost too big and it came with a comically huge quantity of potato chips.

Tully's is a sports bar/restaurant, so there were wall to wall tvs in each room with a variety of sports games on. That's to be expected. We were greeted quickly by our waitress with a bowl of popcorn- which we ate all of! I ordered a "Tully's IPA" figuring it would be fresh on tap- it is discounted a bit. It was good- nice hops flavor and not too strong. Wifey had just water as she does nowadays. She ordered a Crunchy Asian chicken salad - she thought it was ok- romaine and grilled chicken (she asked for and got grilled vs. fried chicken tenders). It also had broccoli and cabbage and crunchy wonton strips in it as well. She wasn't the biggest fan of the dressing though. I had the Caribbean chicken sandwich. Pineapple Mango salsa and blackened chicken ima bun with loaded potato salad with bacon on the side. Not a bad sandwich. For being our last minute choice- Tully's was an ok backup plan that got us a quick dinner before our movie. For what it's worth- at a sports bar restaurant like this- I stick with sandwiches , burgers or wings and you usually can't go wrong. Tullys does all those rather well.

I'm very forgiving when it comes to a bad experience at a place I go to often. In the last couple of years I've had some really bad experiences where the food is just not good. Last year I door dashed an order that arrived cold. The manager did try to make it right but not without another manager being informed or any kind of log. I had tried the breaded fish. That was mediocre at best. Not memorable. Last night I gave it another chance. I ordered 10 Tullys tenders (because that is the ONLY reason to eat here.,) a potato soup, a peanut butter pie and the monkey strawberry shortcake thing. I got there and waited inside. My food came out, they checked it was right, took a payment and I drive my food 1.5 miles. I got it home and it was barely warm. There is no way my food would cool down that fast in that short amount of time. This isn't the first time I've done this. The chicken was crunchy but lukewarm. The chicken seemed a bit chewy and kind of fatty. Some of them were huge and others were skinny. There was no consistency. The soup was not hot either. There was no cheese or chives on it like I thought there would be. It was kind of water. It just wasn't that good. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't something thought I'd ever want again. I ordered the new strawberry monkey bread shortcake. It came with one little tiny ramekin of strawberries. A huge mound of fried tasteless bread I think and I asked for no ice cream but they forgot the whipped cream. It was 100% awful. It was gross. I'm not going to mince words. The only decent thing was the peanut butter mousse cake which is a sure thing. Three bad experiences in a row is enough to make me decide that I will not be going back.

Love the decor, the floors, the volume level, and even the plates, napkins and ketchup bottle on the table. Our service was good and even great at times. Maybe because it was after 730 on a Sunday and they were winding down after a busy day - but I feel like we got lost a bit from time to time - but when our server was around, she was a 10 out of 10. Excellent. We ordered their famous wings and two beef on Wecks. The sandwiches lived up to the hype. Can't wait to have them again. The wings were really good. Loved their sauces (we got hot, honey Dijon, and Cajun-butter-BBQ) with extra blue cheese. By the time we got our wings they were lukewarm and dry. They were definitely cooked long prior and then sat in the window for a time. Taste was delicious. No carrot or celery with the wings was a bummer. As were the 2oz soufflé cups of blue cheese. And they don't miss a chance to charge a dollar for each additional. I have no problem with the upcharge. Stuff ain't free. But a dollar for 2oz cup? That's fairly reasonable for 4oz. 2oz is greedy.
