Ordered the Cuban Sandwich for lunch. I really liked that it had pork belly on it, that was a nice touch. That said, the sandwich was good, but not the best Cuban I've ever had. Fries were fine too. The wait staff was very attentive and always on point, which was very appreciated. They even had a Yelp discount if you check in. We stopped in for a late lunch early dinner on Memorial Day. Was greeted as soon as we walked in and seated quickly. Our drink order was taken quickly and drinks brought to to table in a timely manner. COKE ZERO YAY. We ordered our appetizer and meal at the same time. We shared pickle spears with ranch and horseradish dipping sauce. Never been a fan of horseradish but tired it and to my surprise I liked it. We turned up for a casual beer and realized there was a huge St Paddy's party happening in a big tent in the parking lot (it looked fun and if it hadn't been a Sunday night, we definitely would've joined). This place is huge, which usually guarantees you a nice booth to catch up with a big group of friends. They carry SO many beers that you're bound to find something you like. I went with a classic Sun King Cream Ale and the soft pretzels with cheese. The pretzels were braided in a cool, fun way and were super delicious. Our server was efficient and filled up our waters instantly. I think they have live music here sometimes and usually have a fun crowd. I've known the District Tap from positive reputation for a while. But I don't get up to the Fashion Mall to eat all that often. The location was a little difficult for me to find, as it's buried back behind where Barnes & Noble used to be. I still think of that as Block Party territory! The food was great, though. I ordered an Impossible Burger (TM), which not every place gets right. Whomever cooked it there nailed it. Absolutely flawless veggie burger that I think might have fooled real meat eaters if they didn't know it was fake. I also ordered a nice porter, but they were out of the one I ordered and it took a minute for them to get back to me on that. Overall, it was a decent experience. I don't think District Tap will become one of my regular haunts. But it was clean with friendly staff and good food. I'd definitely go back if I were in the area. read more

Went back again today for lunch during work. Was pretty disappointed in the service. It didn't look busy so we either had a server who was not efficient or they were under staffed. We had to wait a long time every process (being greeted, getting drinks, ordering food) I also feel this is a place that should be able to get in an out in less than an hour when ordering lunch entrees. Overall: A solid 3.5 stars and a good go-to option to hang with a crowd of friends and have a few drinks. The good: Lots of tables, seats, and a high ceiling give the place an open feeling. Clean and straightforward atmosphere, but they do have darts, shuffleboard, firepits, and outdoor seating...all of which are pretty clutch. i originally came in alone and ordered food and a drink. i asked the server if it was okay for me to move to a bigger table as i had people joining me. the request was honored and he said it wasn't a big deal. i was grateful! the biggest down for my experience was the last 4 of my dirty style wings covered in cooked feathers. i've never experienced this so i still feel pretty disgusted. the server didn't take it off my bill and instead he just picked one up with a napkin so i "wouldn't have to look at it". i had to tell him afterwards to come & get the rest of them as we wouldn't be eating them and it wasn't a great site. honestly it looked more like a crustaceans's whiskers and legs the atmosphere was odd as it's a tap so there's an abundance of alcoholic beverages and people screaming yelling watching sports on the many tvs they have yet there are of families with small children. my st germain prosseco was delicious. they add parmesan to the margherita flat bread and it made it so savory. We visited as a party of 6. We decided to go at the last minute on a Sunday. I failed to capture the picture of margarita, the chicken nacho appetizer and the firecracker shrimp appetizer. Because we were entertaining one another we almost forgot how slow service was. Overall the food was good, the tacos were good, the tater tots could have been more hot, the picture of Margarita with water down but again the distraction of conversation amongst the party play down these issues. I ate here not long ago and when I drove past instantly wanted their chicken nachos. I walked in and ordered at 5:42pm I was told it would be 15 mins. I choose to wait in the car as the lobby was over crowded with there being a 50 minute wait for a table. I was told I would get a phone call when my order was ready. After 20 minutes I decided to walk in to check on my order. I was told it's not up yet. This time I decided to wait inside to save a walk. After another 20 minutes my patience is done! The server checked and my order had been ready and sitting for who knows how long under the wrong name. Mistakes happen I get it my name is Brittany they put it under Tiffany! I took the order because I was hungry and ready to go! I checked my order in the car and both orders are missing the chicken! The manager was brought up and she simply reordered my order. After 20 more minutes of waiting I asked for the manager again to at least take something off my order. I'm normally to embarrassed to ask for anything off my order out of fear my food would be tampered with She advised me it would be a few more minutes. Finally after over an hour of my initial order I received my correct order. The manager was sympathetic and offered half off my order and gave me a gift certificate. I have been here twice so far and I really like it! This place is HUGE so there is a good chance Your can get in and grab a table no matter how crowded the parking lot is. There are several large rooms connected together around a large bar. One area has a fireplace which I would love to be near in the cold Indiana winter. I am looking forward to checking this place out in the summer with the patio seating and large roll up doors. They have great beer selection on tap and pretty darn good food. The firecracker shrimp are a must if you like spicy! The menu has a good size sampling of American food with a bit of flair! I finally had the chance to come to The District Tap. It was with my wife's company Christmas outing that was invited to tag along with. I ordered the Cuban and a side of chili. The chili was good, the Cuban was okay - I had no problem finishing it... It a fun place to be. It was difficult to find a place to park - but they do have valet parking. It was noisy and made it difficult to hear the people sitting near me. But, it is a bar... I enjoyed being here and had fun with the group. Sick of Thanksgiving left overs (gasp!) and wanting to catch some of the Colts game, the hubs and I opted for The District Tap for our Sunday late afternoon lunch spot. My first reaction was when I beheld the HUGE concrete patio out front complete with numerous tables and couch-like-seating. I just wish the ambiance was not to overlook the parking lot, an abandoned OOBATZ building, and 82nd street. Anywhoooo...I may just have to test out this patio come warmer weather. **Side note: we asked the hostess if TDT was dog friendly on the patio during warmer weather and she said she doesn't think it is. Sad face. Will definitely have to follow-up on this later. Once inside the decor is clean, modern, and sleek, yet sporty as there is a TV everywhere you look. Each booth has its own little TV! We opted to sit at a seat-yourself high boy table in the bar, but it seems you can bring the whole family and enjoy lunch/dinner at the very large booths surrounding the bar also. Now for the good stuff. Drinks: We each chose to get a flight (4 beers per at $8 a flight) -- mine being on the dark side and my husband choosing the more hoppy/IPA styles. I dinged part of a star for the lack of variety for us dark beer lovers. There were only 5 'dark' choices, and one of the 5 was Guinness (and not an option for the flight anyway). With that said, what I had was good and I was excited to try 4 new-to-me local craft beers. Da Hubs was pleased overall with his light flight. Appetizer time: we chose the Pretzel Breadsticks ($8) served with a white (warm) cheese sauce and some sort of amazing "mustard beer sauce" which ended up being one of my favorite things of the day. I thought it would have been thicker given the description, but it's buttery consistency and slightly zingy taste made me smile. Lunch: Nursing a post-Turkey Day bloat, I just opted for a bowl of their Cactus Chili ($6) for my 'meal' and Danimal got the Pulled BBQ Pork Sandwich ($11) with tots -- slaw on the side. My chili was the perfect blend of savory and slightly sweet with good amounts of meat, white beans, corn, and other veggies. Good stuff. I also stole the hub's coleslaw -- which was just that -- but creamy and decently crunchy. Tasted the pork and it had a nice little kick to it. All in all, I think we will return to try more of the food as everything was tasty. I guess I just wasn't prepared to spend $50 on lunch ($41 plus tip). Our server was also very pleasant and stayed around to chat us up a bit. It is no secret that this particular location has seen it's share of businesses come and go. This is one of my favorite beer places for not only the beer selection but the INCREDIBLE and diverse menu! There aren't many places that you can get a bit of everything in Indy without being a chain (which is great) but this place YOU CAN! I normally crave things from certain food groups/cuisines and their menu can just about hit every single one of those cravings. My husband and I were there recently and were hungry enough to fancy an appetizer. Mac and cheese balls. These things were no lie. Nothing like you get at a typical fried food establishment. These were massive, completely filled with deliciously creamy Mac and cheese while TOPPED with cheese and fresh Parmesan flakes! Hands down the best I've had. My brisket tacos were impressive and full of all the desired goodness a taco enthusiast craves. Not to mention you can sub rice for sweet potato fries or another side! And was extremely soggy / poor flavor. If it was thin/ crunchy like a flatbread it may have been better? Nachos. I continue to ponder over how people mess up nachos. There is some "spicy" ranch or some type of sauce that makes the nachos taste weird. Just a poor flavor. Get rid of this. Add sour cream , salsa on the side. Maybe some shredded lettuce. Way too many TVs and too noisy. When I go out to eat I don't need TV to entertain me. That said. They did make excellent use of space. This building started life as Discovery Zone then at least 2 other places for food and entertainment. Pretzel sticks were great. The cheese dip with them was spicy but not too spicy. The beer mustard was nasty, but I also dislike beer. The pepperoni and sausage flat bread was very good as was the pulled pork sandwich. Service was friendly but it did seem to take a long time to get our food. The 10% off for checking into Yelp was nice. We did not do dessert but they sounded good. My coworkers and I were cozied up and talking in one of our suites when we got a call. One of our other coworkers leaving the company invited us for one last hoorah at District Tap. Knowing this would be our final chance to party with her, we hopped in a few Lyfts and headed there. At first I groaned because the first thing I noticed was the booming loud music and the screaming, drunk people on the dance floor. This was NOT the scene I wanted. It reminded me too much of my crazy college days in San Diego. Fortunately our colleague had found a nice, uninhabited corner of the outdoor patio. Plenty of space for all ~12 of us to hang out. Our waiter was super friendly and attentive for how rowdy we were. He went along with our vibe of taking shots and even suggested some tasty ones. We also ordered some bar food, which turned out to be satisfying. This included firecracker shrimp, nachos, fried pickles, and sweet potato fries. The shrimp and pickles were especially addicting. Oh and just a warning... the shrimp IS actually spicy, so watch out. It was a fun and energetic night before heading back to the office the next day. Our original group had planned to stay for 30 minutes, though we knew that was never going to happen. No regrets over losing sleep, because it was worth the memories we made here. read more

Blond waiter walks up and says "alright guys, kitchen closes in 10 minutes, gotta order quick". No welcome, nothing. I asked for a menu and she just pointed at the QR code at the table. We told her we needed a couple of minutes. She came back and I asked her about the Taco Tuesday - she said "yeah it's just our tacos are $3 off". I told her I hadn't been to the restaurant before, and she just says "okay". She was treating us like 2 year olds - I was at my wits end. I grabbed my wife and walked out. We didn't know the kitchen closed at 11. However, the server could have made us aware while still making us feel welcome. Her general attitude was bad and that she was irritated we were there.
