(4/19/21) I'm having my car repaired up on Westinghouse and my wife had packages to be mailed. So I walked 2.1 miles to Pineville. The walk itself took about an hour and I got the packages through the outgoing mail slot at the post office. As I was starting my walk back I noticed that Dive N was open. I'd wanted to try their food since they opened but had never given it any more than a passing glance as I'd drive by. The interior is pretty small but there's a large patio out front. When you walk in there's a smattering of memorabilia and you're at the front counter. The menu is pretty extensive. Mostly there are breakfast and lunch selections. Dive N does close at 15:00, so dinner really isn't an option. I ordered a Junkyard Plate. It has a bit of everything, eggs, toast or biscuit, meat (bacon, sausage or ham), cheese, peppers, onions or hash browns. I'm looking forward to it's arrival. It was so good! It was all cooked together with the exception of the biscuit that was light and fluffy. It was served in a container and had condiments and flatware included. This little breakfast and lunch joint is hard not to love. This was my sixth visit and I've now had both breakfast and lunch there. On each visit, I was greeted warmly immediately upon my entry and offered attentive, friendly service throughout my meal. The atmosphere is uniquely nostalgic, which is one of my favorite things here. You order at the counter and find a seat (a window booth if you're lucky.) Food is made to order and quickly arrives piping hot. I went sinple with a cheeseburger and fries for $5.20. Both were tasty. Burgers are like the old grill style, if you're old enough to remember. I like breakfast here a bit more than lunch. You can't beat $5.99 for two eggs, country ham (with extra cholesterol and high bp), grits, fluffy biscuit and coffee (eagerly refilled). One small shortcoming, however, is that butter and raw sugar are not available. I can handle the white granular sugar but, for me, margarine just doesn't cut it. Sanitation score was an impressive 97 and has always been in high 90s each visit. Outside seating is also available. Would definitely eat here again (and hope to.) A hidden gem! Food was fresh, tasty and the sides were homemade and excellent. Grilled chicken had great flavor. Homemade pimento cheese was great without being too heavy, coleslaw had great texture and also was nice without being too heavy. Service was great! read more

I wanted to try this place based on all of the great yelp reviews. They did not disappoint! Great tasting food, amazing prices and great friendly service! I ordered a double pimento burger and it was spot on. Excellent flavor, oversized and done perfectly. My new spot for burgers without a doubt! The best burger ive had in a while! I upgraded to housemade onion rings. I could see how people could love them but they weren't my style. I'll be back for sure and I can't wait to try the rest of their menu! read more

We were treated to lunch at work, leaving us with the difficult decision of what to choose. Someone on our team recommended the Dive N. Checked out the reviews... of course. Got the Grill chicken sammich w/ sweet potato fries( kinda soggy) and a side order of funnel cake fries. The funnel cake fries are DELICIOUS!! This place is so cute! The service is great. The woman I spoke with was super helpful as far as recommendations go and answering all the questions I had. I sat outside because I had my dog with me and it was no problem at all! It was actually pretty warm, they have covered outdoor seating. Just to note though they don't have Apple/android pay. I stopped by for lunch and was very pleased. There was a line outside when I walked up, but it went pretty fast. The staff was awesome. Very polite and friendly and always asking if you're okay. I go there at least once a week. I recently had cold fries on a to go order. I called to complain and was told there were several complaints. I went to get my order replaced and only my fries were going to be fixed. I spoke with the owner Sandy who told me she would replace my entire order. Wen I went in to get a replacement I was told that I was not welcome and was blackballed. All this over $4.00 fresh fry. I've been wanting to try this place for a while and I'm glad I did! The staff and owner here are super friendly. Me and my husband got two burgers with fries and onion rings, chili dog and a sweet tea for about $20 bucks. I got the pimento burger and it was good. Fries were crispy and not too salty which I like. Their onion rings are delicious. Not that greasy too. My husband got the club burger and he liked it. The hot dog was good. The chili on top of it added a nice touch. Their sweet tea was on point. I would definitely come back here again! I might try the fried chicken or sloppy Joe next time. read more

The food was really good and reasonably priced. Better than some local diners, for sure. I had chicken salad with lettuce and tomato on rye toast (thicker cut bread, finely chopped chicken) and homemade onion rings. I am VERY picky with chicken salad... My husband had a cheeseburger, fries, and potato salad (finely chopped, mustard base). Everything was great. People were really nice also. read more

Stopped in finally to have breakfast & happy I finally made it. The little dinner nestled in Pineville does not lack on flavor or variety. Portions are just right, flavor is on spot, fair prices, and ambience is relaxing. Love the decoration. Had 2 scrambled eggs, with bacon & hash browns, came with biscuit, toast or grits. I ordered a biscuit and add gravy. (delicious) Coffee for a drink. You must order in the counter, there's only one menu available, and the only thing I did not like is that you must sweeten your coffee and/or add creamer beside the register machine. The Dive N, is a very clean place. Which does mean a lot for me. Waitress was very friendly. They have a very nice sunny patio. Long line out the door was the first indication that this greasy spoon would be on point! Actually, that's not true, the YELP ratings were the first sign. Even with the line (very busy lunch time), we got a table immediately, the line moved fast and the food came quick. Staff is very friendly. Charging .75 EXTRA for all meat sandwiches or plates (yes, even for hot dogs, bologna and BLTs) No refills on drinks, yet they have dine-in seating. Charges .45 for dipping sauces. Our family eats here a lot even during the shutdown but they seem to be nickel & diming customers. Food is 4 star good but customer experience isn't positive. read more

If you prefer religious intolerance THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU! This place just took my order to go and put it in the window after it was made only to make me wait 15mins while they prayed as a group. As a person of non Christian faith I was appalled that they let my order sit until it was cold to satisfy their own personal religious desires. Even more horrible customer service as I was told "thank you too" in a snarky sarcastic voice as I finally received my order and didn't thank them for receiving the cold food. Due to the fact they told me their prayer was more important than serving the customer I asked for my money back so no I didn't eat here but worst experience at a restaurant. Classic American diner/dive. Love this place so much. Friendly and fast service. It's everything you want and love about short order flat top food. They will make it how you order it, which is a major plus for me. We got to go breakfast and everyone was happy and full after. I ordered a livermush sandwhich on rye with chili, mustard, onions and slaw with a slice of tomatoe and a poached egg on top and it really hit the spot. I ordered it half-heartedly not expecting it to actually be made, but believe it or not they did it to a tee. I was very happy with it. I LOVE livermush and the poached egg was done just right and it was massive. I've overlooked this place in the past but now it is probably going to be a regular breakfast spot for me in the future. read more

This hidden gem in Pineville is amazing! They have breakfast and lunch and typically always have a line which is worth the wait. The seating on the inside is small but they do have a great patio area for you to choose from. The staff is beyond nice and so helpful as the menu can be a bit overwhelming. My dad and I came here for breakfast. It was actually really good at a great price. We both got country ham, hashbrowns, scrambled eggs and a biscuit for $7. Skip the biscuit though and get the toast. Something is wrong with those biscuits. They are hard and tasteless ... probably just warmed up from the grocery store freezer.
