I considered doing 4 stars, because it was pretty crowded/claustrophobic in there, but really, that's just because it's so good. Service was very polite and personable, loved the experience. There was a bit of a wait for food, but not long. Everything was accurate. The coffee wasn't over the top impressive, but definitely not bad. I got an omelet with veggies, nixed the cheese. I trained my boyfriend my potatoes for a fruit cup. The omelet was amazing, very fresh and full of ingredients. My boyfriend got 2 eggs, biscuits and gravy, and he had my potatoes. I have wanted to eat breakfast at The Dizzy Hen for a long time. My dad brought me here this morning. I was right when I predicted that my dad would get the sandwich on an English muffin that features sausage, eggs, chard, mozzarella cheese. I know that he is crazy about sausage. He said that it was excellent. I had an omelette that features butternut squash, kalamata olives, and mozzarella cheese. It was excellent too. As were the potatoes that came with it. I asked my dad to have some potatoes too because there was a lot of food on my plate and he really liked them too. The service was also excellent. They brewed decaf coffee special for me. They one cashier came out and refunded me $2 saying that the coffee was weak! I will be back! read more

Basically our favorite place in the Corvallis/Philomath area. We only discovered them a few months ago but have visited probably over a dozen times. All the staff know us and always come to talk to us, even if they aren't our server for the day. For that reason, the service is top notch. Now the food. Oh my goodness the food. The menu changes frequently because of their use of fresh and local ingredients. Every time I try something new, it's my new favorite food ever. I have tried things that are completely out of my wheelhouse simply because I trust them that much, and it has never failed to satisfy. Finally, the prices. This is one of the most affordable restaurants out there and considering the fresh and local ingredients, it's almost baffling that they can keep their prices so affordable. This is the best breakfast place I have been to. The customer service is outstanding and everybody is super friendly. Their menu is not large, but there is a lot of good stuff on it. I ended up ordering "the dizzy". The dish was amazing. I usually put Tabasco sauce on poached eggs and biscuits and gravy, but I got 3/4 of the way through before I realized I hadn't put any on. It was that good. I ended up not putting any on because that it was so good I didn't want to alter it. You can order a typical two egg, one meat with potatoes breakfast or you can push your envelope a bit and try one of their interesting omelettes or speciality breakfasts. What an amazing little place. The food was absolutely delicious, good sized portions and the staff is amazing. Such a great family atmosphere. The Pork Ragu and Grits is to die for! The pork is very tender and soooo flavorful and was only $10.50. When I told them I would pay twice that, they said that they want to make their food affordable so everyone can enjoy them. . This place is amazing. I was visiting my friend in town and I've been wanting to try this place so we decided to head over for breakfast. You seat yourself and they will bring you menus and water. The staff are so friendly and helpful. My friend cannot eat pork and they told her they can do any substitutions for her without any problem. Their menu changes weekly from my understanding - they said if they have the ingredients they could always make something that was on the previous menu. I tried their "The Dizzy" with duck confit. OH. MY. GOODNESS. The duck was tender and juicy, plus there were so many pieces too. The poached eggs were overdone on my dish, but the waitress made my friend's extra runny since she couldn't have the gravy - so if you like runny eggs, make sure you ask for it! And I suspect, remains packed until Packed until they close. The place is self has an eclectic Bohemian style design, but the food is top rate and delicious !!!! The menu is limited but by far has many opportunities to try different things or get the standard eggs potatoes and bacon. We each tried something out of our Comfort zone. We waited in Line for at least 45 minutes on a Saturday morning. While you are waiting you can get a coffee or any morning beverage of your choice while you wait. Well with the wait, the waitresses were super nice, friendly and help make recommendations. We had some bloody Mary's, I really enjoyed but the do come with a celery stick and olives so if you are not partial to those toppings you may want to ask to have them removed. DELICIOUS!! This was a fantastic find. We drove there to eat on our way to hike Mary's Peak. My 11 yr old had the Dried Cinnamon French Toast with Sage Sausage and Fried Apples, my 13 yr old had The Dizzy, hubby had the Vegan Hash of Potatoes, Broccoli, Zuke's, Mushrooms, Greens and Caramel Onions and I ordered the Pork Ragu on Creamy Polenta with a fried egg. Everyone loved their choice and everything was absolutely fantastic. Temperature, texture, flavors and portions were firing on all cylinders. The biggest surprise was how wonderful the biscuit served with The Dizzy tasted. I'm a southern girl and have a high bar for a biscuit. This was tender and moist, a rarity in this part of the country for a biscuit. The coffee was great and the cups were refilled at just the right time. The service was impeccable and the feel of the restaurant was comfortable and cool. If this was located in PDX there would be a line around the corner and even in small Philomath there were folks waiting for a table. We will be back and we will bring friends. read more

It is located at the old CD&J but has been remodeled and I love the new interior and exterior. Giving five stars for the food and efficient, friendly service. There is not an extensive menu but it was still hard to pick as all the items sounded good. Definitely something for everyone. I had the pork ragu, grits and eggs. Whole table liked it. The traditional was great, too. Both the sausage and bacon were good. Potatoes were excellent. Water and coffee cups always full. One recommendation:. Make a larger "open" sign.
