Delicious cold lobster rolls overflowing with a generous amount of lobster. Comes with a bag of chips. The clam strips are very good. Comes with waffle fries or a salad. The tarter sauce is very good. A very nice lady was at the register. You order and they call your number when the order is ready. We had 3 lobster rolls and 2 orders of clam strips. 5 drinks (iced teas). All in $200. We were lucky to grab a table for lunch. Great timing.

This is not a place you go for the ambience, but you go there for great seafood! The Dock House is quite small, with only a few tables inside and outside. But it's on the dock where all the massive yachts park and there are plenty of benches on which to sit and eat. We got the lobster rolls, which were brimming with meat! Hardly any mayonnaise, just really great seafood. The New England Clam Chowder is excellent and creamy, not runny like some places. The shrimp cocktail is also good. You can't beat a place that serves seafood right from its own waters! You can also buy fresh fish to cook at home.

Checking out the Long Island scene, we stopped at the Long Wharf... boats everywhere! We wanted to try a lobster roll and New England clam chowder, so went to the Dock House, ordered both and wow, so good! The lobster roll was packed with lobster, and very little filler, with the perfect amount of mayo! And the clam chowder did not disappoint! Definitely recommend stopping in!

So promising based on the reviews and the big fresh-looking menu, but underwhelming in my experience. Clam chowder - watery and not a ton of flavor. Everyone from miles around has clam chowder and a 'special' recipe. IMO, it's not in evidence here. Not enough clams, and not enough body to the soup. Not sure how they were 'Voted Best'. The scallops sounded good in reviews. When I asked about them at Dock House, they mentioned the fried version, which is battered and fried. It ever there way to hide the flavor of scallops, I'd think that would be it. Instead, the Grilled Marinated Sea Scallops seemed a better fit. I ordered that but was disappointed. The scallops were a bit overcooked, for one thing. The marinade was like spicy brown sauce, sitting on top of the scallops, which themselves sat on a baguette. If you look at the menu online, it mentions the baguette very clearly. For the record, it is listed inside on their big menu, if not as prominently. I never touched the baguette as it struck me as hard to taste the scallops. The waffle fries are good, a bit greasy and have an engaging salty flavor. Was this dish horrible? No. Can I recommend? No. It's a charming place inside. Nice little view of the harbor, if you sit by the window. They're closed a couple days of the week. Would I ever try them again? Sure. But I'm not in a rush.

Cold Lobster Roll-- be sure to squeeze some lemon juice on it for a flavor boost

I came to The Dock House to see if the lobster roll here is as good as everybody says it is. The lobster roll was packed with fresh lobster and was scrumptious, especially because I squeezed some fresh lemon juice from a lemon wedge that came on the side. Lemons and lobster are a winning combination because they have an affinity for one another. One brings out the flavor of the other. The lobster roll is served on a grilled hot dog potato bun. I did not care for the bun because the potato bread poorly counteracted the flavor of the lobster. I would have preferred a toasted New England-style (split top) hot dog bun. So I ate just the lobster salad. The lobster roll costs $35.79, but they added a "chkot fee" of $1.25 for paying with a debit or credit card. So my bill came out to $37.04. Thom explained that the surcharge "covers the transactions". I also purchased some corn mango salad. That costs $11.50 per pound, and it was made with fresh local corn and tropical mangoes. It was refreshing, and I liked it a lot. There are many spaces for vehicles to park on the wharf. They are in company with yachts that dock on the marina surrounding The Dock House. I can see how the popular seafood shack got its name. I highly recommend that foodies stop by here. The menu has plenty else to offer besides lobster rolls: fish tacos, steamers, fried calamari, chowder and more. Long-time Hampton residents tell me that they come to The Dock House for "the best lobster roll this side of Maine". Robin, the manager, told me that shipments of live freshly-caught lobster are delivered each week from Maine. Check out The Dock House's website, dockhouseny.com. They are open daily from May to October. I give it four stars because of the unnecessary transaction fee.

Good golly -- this lobster roll was everything I imagined it would be. Incredible fresh and a ton of meat inside, you'll be dreaming about it for days. Ooo, don't forget to order a side of clam chowder as well! You won't regret it! The young lady working the register was a sweetheart as well. Great customer service, laid back atmosphere and fabulous seafood, be sure to check them out!

Visited The Dock House this past weekend for perfection on a compostable plate! My Lobster Roll was delicious, perfectly everything with a squeeze of lemon. I removed the chips, as I had no interest in them. 10/10! The service was quick and friendly. Don't look to languish too long, as there are only two small tables and a bar inside for sitting and eating. Everything was excellent!

Quaint spot on Sag Harbors wharf, doesn't look like much from the outside but their food is great! This is a must try for your summer spots as it is now closed for the season. Quality seafood done right, the crab cakes were moist and some of the best I've ever had. The grilled tuna was a generous portion and cooked to perfect temperature. The menu is huge and has something for every seafood lover but if you don't like seafood don't worry they have a burger and even a beyond burger for our non-meat eaters! Check it out and don't forget to grab a South Fork Blondid for dessert.

Came here for lunch. Super friendly staff. Great view. Small restaurant with a little seating inside. We order a lobster roll with was $35. It was okay. The soft shell crab was my favorite. It was so meaty! Their waffle fries taste great as well. The fried baby scallops was perfect. We also ordered a kids chicken fingers and the was okay. They have tons of fries but like two small pieces of chicken. For the price i wish the pieces of chicken was a tad bigger.

3.5 stars, rounding up to 4 because the staff was very sweet and the restaurant is on the harbor with beautiful sunset views. Would recommend the lobster roll ($35), which was packed with lobster and had celery and red onions for a nice crunch and texture. The clam chowder was also quite good and had a lot of fresh seafood. I would not recommend the fish tacos, which were around $20 for 2 tacos with a small piece of fried fish - dry and cannot compare to fish tacos in NYC.. the seafood platters were also just okay, pretty average fried food and overpriced for what it is.

Placed a pick up order on a weekend for a lobster, along with a couple dishes for some friends. Unfortunately the miserable weather during the Memorial Day weekend prevented us from being able to stay and enjoy the location, which seems to be the highlight of The Dock House. 1-1/4 lb lobster - 2.5/5. It was not horrible, but overcooked a bit to the point where the meat was fairy tough and chewy. Was expecting more for the reviews of this place. On the plus side, the ~$32 price seemed fair given the high lobster prices in NYC (not sure about the Sag Harbor area generally) Leaving a 3 star review because I would go back, if only to see all the hype about the location. Definitely would not order the same item however. Maybe try the lobster roll that seems to be all the craze

Food was amazing, great place to try top-notch seafood. The service was quick and friendly, they answered the couple questions I had about the menu and sent me in the direction of the lobster roll and it was amazing!! 100% worth the price, your getting good quality seafood, and you can tell!! Cute place located right on the water with welcoming staff, a great place to visit if you're in the area!!

What happened to the Dockhouse?! It has gone downhill. Went with friends today.. the flounder sandwich was served with stale bread & the flounder did not taste fresh...seemed like a frozen fish stick. The crab cake was 98% bread crumbs. Sad for the price we paid. We'll never go back. read more

Whenever I find myself in the saggiest of harbors, there's a good chance I'll be stopping by The Dock House for some clam chowder. Because it's fantastic, especially when it's almost June and still 40 degrees for some inexplicable fucking reason. This little joint might not have much seating to speak of (and they for some reason won't give me a bloody mary), but they do pump out quality seafood. In addition to chowder they've got all sorts of fried deliciousness (is there anything better than seasoned waffle fries?) like clam strips and shrimp, as well as grilled marinated everything as well. Live lobsters are chilling in a bathtub in the corner if that's your thing, or you could get them chopped up with mayo on a roll as well. It's all going to be pretty damn good, even if it isn't exactly cheap. One Warning: The door swings both ways. So if you are walking out, intent on shoving fried shrimp into your mouth, try not to let the door slam your girlfriend in the face. A large crowd of folks might witness this and try and convince her to break up with you. Not that that happened to me or anything. read more

If I lived in Sag Harbor (or anywhere near enough to drive there) I would be big as a cow because I would eat here 2 or 3 times a week! Everything is fresh and delicious. Best clam strips I have had anywhere! It is small and gets crowded but we seem to always luck out and get a seat. read more

The Dock House is a nice spot. It is expensive for traditional seafood, but it is the Hamptons. The lobster rolls were average, but came with a lot of meat. The New England style clam chowder also had a lot of meat in it, so I left feeling satisfied. Beautiful location close to the water and center of Sag Harbor, which allows for walking and looking around before or after you stop here. read more

Sag Harbor, NY is one of the nicest seaside communities I've ever visited and I've visited quite a few! Scenic, easy to navigate, quaint, comfortable are just a few adjectives I'd use to describe lovely town. So many great places to eat, drink and people watch, my party of five chose The Dock House for our late afternoon lunch, and I'm glad they did. Now, on a side note, this SoCal boy has spent much of his life on the eastern seaboard (a biz, family & friends thing) and has consumed a Lobster Rolls from Maine to Florida. 95% of these (my favorite sandwich) were these warm, meaty delicious concoctions filled to the brim with large chunks of lobster. The Dock House presented me with a lobster salad sandwich. Made (kinda) like a tuna sandwich the lobster was chopped, celery is added along with mayo, seasoning and other good stuff. This lobster sandwich (not roll) could as easily be eaten with a knife and fork or picked up like a traditional sandwich. Which ever, it sure was delicious. Their clam chowder was also really good. This place gets REAL busy so a seat may not get secured and there is usually a line to wade through to order. Either way, it's worth the hassle to be able to sink your teeth into one of these beauties. read more

You want the best lobster roll in the Hamptons? This is definitely the place! Very clean and the staff is very accommodating. You can tell the owners take much pride in servicing the public. They make sure you have the best condiments and everything you would need to enjoy a good meal. 3 1/2 stars if I could. I've been here a few times but after today's lobster roll I was inclined to review. As others have said, LESS CELERY please. It was more like chopped lobster salad with lots of crunch celery bits. It was juicy, but not to my liking. The actual pieces of lobster were tasty and good. The lettuce that accompanied it was not the freshest. read more

LOVE the Dock House. Understand this is basically a really nice shack on the dock. You will order your meal: oysters, steamers, lobster roll, etc. and pick it up to bring to one of the two tables or few counter seats. Super nice people, incredibly fresh and delicious food, and you can also take raw seafood to go. What is not to love? read more

Not a big fish person but they have a lot of variety in their menu, tried the chicken burger which was nice, the kids had the chicken fingers and the fried shrimp. Waffle fries were AWESOME, prices weren't too bad and had many choices for drinks. Was pretty busy but recommended the steinbeck park across the street, absolutely beautiful place for the kids to play and look over the water while we eat. read more

The best place in the hamptons to grab a lobster roll and go for a walk down the long wharf. Not over priced without sacrificing quality. You can just see how many big pieces of lobster are in the roll I just ate. The location is unbeatable, overlooking the yachts and right in the town, a quintessential part of any hamptons weekend! read more

The lobster rolls are chock full of lobster but the roll isn't good! Ordinary cheap frankfurter roll, I ate the lobster without the roll. French fries are non existent, only a small bag of chips! Stay away from the "crab cakes" all filler, no crab! $2.95 per cake, min 3. $29.50 per lobster roll! read more

Website claims that they are open til 9pm. Called to place an order at 7:45pm. No answer. Called again, no answer. Drove down to place an order in person and arrived at 8:15. Walked in and all the employees just stared at us and stated that they were closed. We then asked if we could at least get a drink, they said yeah of course. So I guess the cash register was still open, but they just didn't feel like making food? Okay yeah, I'll take business elsewhere from now on. read more

Shared an order of burrata (a special of the day) to start, thoroughly enjoyed the creamy globe of cheese resting on tricolor sauce with toast points. My bouillabaisse, comprised of a large lobster tail, clams, mussels, and white fish, was well spiced with a saffron-based broth and served up with butter-slathered toast to mop it all up. Yummy! Partner's lobster rigatoni was made with plenty of fresh lobster meat and a well flavored creamy sauce. He said it was filling and delicious. Excellent experience overall, would definitely return when in the area.

I was so looking forward to eating here. The blond man in the goatee is so racist. We ordered two lobster rolls and sparkling water. The food was nothing to write home about. We came back later to use the bathroom and he said to us "You were here hours ago you can't use the bathroom, I just cleaned it". Is this the Jim Crow south? If I am a paying customer I know I have the right to use the restroom. The owners of this business need to know what is going on here because I will be telling my friends what happened and they will not be frequenting this shop anymore. Respect and customer service is really important. This place does not have that. Happened on 06/20/21. This behavior is disgusting and illegal. I hope that the owners will let this person go so paying customers will be able to use the bathroom after a meal. read more

I've been coming here for years and it's always been one of my favorites in Sag Harbor! My family fondly refers to it as the "seafood shack" because it's literally a little shack right by the dock. Since it is so small, getting the food to go and eating it on a bench by the water is the perfect setting on a warm summer night. The food has always been very good- the fried soft shell crab is one of my favorites. The food is always very fresh. My lobster bisque tonight had large chunks in it tonight, but was very salty. The clam chowder is also usually delicious filled with clams, but tonight the herbs- thyme perhaps? was a little too overpowering. Nonetheless I'll be back! read more

There was NO AIR CONDITIONING. This made taking in the otherwise lovely seaside view impossible due to the sweltering weather. Our food took a long time to come out, exacerbated by how hot we were (eventually I had to stand outside.) When the food came out my fish smelled a little off and tasted rubbery. My wife's was fine, nothing to write home about, especially considering the price, and the plating was kind of unclean, like some other dish of food had dripped onto it. Not incredibly hygienic. All in all we left feeling like we'd been lured into a tourist trap. read more
