It's Almost Perfect. I've been wanting to try The Donut House's fully customized donuts for ages, but it seems like every time I drive by, they're closed. Apparently, they often sell out and close early. So I was thrilled to finally get my hands on them today after so much anticipation. The donuts themselves are fantastic: huge, fresh, and incredibly fluffy with a perfect, not-too-sweet texture. However the fillings didn't quite hit the mark for me. They all were too tangy and heavy. The chocolate cream filling was sour, and the raspberry tasted rather stodgy, nothing like the light, sweet jelly from Krispy Kreme. At $14.99 for a half-dozen, there are fillings galore to choose from, which is great, but it might take some experimenting to find the right one for me. They also offer coffee, bubble teas, and a "wall of goodies" that looks intriguing On the bright side, the service was terrific! The young lady behind the counter made sure my sister and I had a very positive experience, and the place was spotlessly clean. Even though they were getting ready to close, we never felt rushed.. Despite the filling disappointments, I'd definitely go back to try some different options - I'd love to find my perfect custom donut, and how lucky I am to have found a place that may facilitate that, right here in Kannapolis. read more

Saw this donut shop after dropping a rider off. I needed some coffee and of course some donuts. The staff were super nice, very helpful and accommodating. Nice little friendly shop. Don't do it.... You'll gain ten pounds getting a dozen donuts and eating them all the apple fritter is one of the best I've ever had. Full of flavor and apple chunks! I found this place through a Yelp search. The pictures of the donuts and the accompanying reviews sold me on this shop. Its very clean but in an older strip mall setting. There is a great display of their products. Apple fritters and the bear claw filled with apple was the order along with a cup of coffee. Friendly service, quick, efficient with fair pricing. I stopped by The Donut House on my lunch break hoping to grab a quick treat. Unfortunately, the experience was pretty disappointing. The staff were all gathered around in a circle having a personal conversation and didn't acknowledge me for about five minutes. Even though I was standing right in front of them and could hear everything they were discussing, no one said hello or even let me know they'd be with me. Another customer came in after me and they immediately served him first. At that point, someone briefly looked over and said they'd be with me shortly, but I ended up just leaving. I hope they can improve their customer service, because the donuts looked great. But a simple acknowledgment would have made a big difference. read more

Every time I go to a new city, I google "best donuts." I've been to all fifty states. I'm not saying this place is worth skipping cafe du monde or the donuts at the top of pikes pike or the apple cider donuts in Vermont, but as far as neighborhood donut shops go, this is my favorite. Many of the big name touristy places like Voodoo will give stale, but pretty donuts. This place is so fresh, I always buy a few days worth because I know they'll be still be good. I love the variety of their offerings. My husband and I have gotten to the point we ask them to surprise us, which is how we just found a new favorite: white chocolate raspberry. It's spacious and clean looking. Parking is ample and convenient. The atmosphere is really quiet. They offered different kinds of donuts, pastries, and other bakery items. Forget stopping at the main chain as this donut shop rules! Hospitality from the time you enter the shop to explaining the different types of donuts and related filings you can get. The donut presentation and taste was impeccable. Nice and fluffy and FILLING without the lethargic feeling of eating a sugared heap of dough. Reason 2 stars is because the employee was smoking out front and came inside and didn't wash her hands. Immediately served customers. Gross. I just came in for a quick coffee but the other lady said the coffee was cold. She said she can heat it up for me lol! I said no thank you. I ordered a cappuccino instead. The donuts looked really good. I had just eaten so I didn't order one. The girl who was smoking kept complaining the whole time to her coworker. She said it was hot. The other employee and myself said it felt fine to us. She said she was turning the air on. But made sure to tell her coworker she was telling her she was. Like being bossy. I couldn't work with her all day. It would drive me crazy. I feel bad for the Hispanic lady. She also didnt throw the cigarette bud in the trash. She threw it on the ground. In front of the store. I feel like this place has potential. But with such low professionalism and cold coffee... I don't see it getting any better. I would suggest hiring someone upbeat, positive, and clean.
