They were meh, I was very disappointed. We ordered 6 donuts and they were all not good. 2 of the malasada donuts, one with guava and the other with vanilla cream. 2 sprinkle donuts, one vanilla and the other cholcolate. The last two were a blueberry donut with lemon frosting and the other was gingerbread. So the donut shop is nice and the employees are nice. They have many options when it comes to donuts which can be a good thing or a bad thing. Personally I didn't care for all the options but I know people love having many options. So I think the issue for me was that the donuts didn't really taste like anything, you could taste the sweetness and the fact that they are doughnuts but not one the flavors tasted like anything. I have strong tastebuds and I didn't taste the blueberry on my donut and the only thing that stood out was the lemon frosting but it tasted artificial, meaning just an extract no actual zested lemon. I could be wrong. I ordered the malasada with guava and I could taste the guava but donut itself was meh, and the vanilla cream was bland. My son didn't even eat his doughnuts, just ate the sprinkles so I tasted his and same issue they don't really taste like anything. It's hard to explain but I really only tasted sugar all their flavors were pretty weak. I don't like Dunkin' Donuts but sadly I would have preferred their donuts, especially because artificial or not their blueberry doughnut at least tastes like blueberry. So I think the donuttery place is overhyped. I know they aren't sidecar but at least their doughnuts taste like what is advertised. One of my favorite new donut places. Their donuts are so fresh and they somehow still hold up even after one day. Most donut places I have been to including the great tasting ones start to dry out rather quickly the following day but this is the only place so far that still holds its freshness and fluffiness the next day. Been here several times with my wife, friends and family. I must say this place has a fantastic array of options. I like the Ube Donut and one time I tried a vegan donut with custard and was impressed with how good it was, I get that everytime I come back as well as the dark chocolate frosting, the brown sugar and the classic glazed. Regular donuts are pretty amazing, Crème Brûlée, strawberry nutella, blueberry jelly and so many more, all hit's, no misses. A friend brought me here once when we were hungry for food and not donuts, I ordered the Lox and Bagels with cream cheese. It was pretty epic, large portion, delicious and plentiful, you can easily share it. The Croissants are very good as well. read more

Who knew Vegan Donuts could be so good? You would never know. Tried them at a food event at a brewery in North Hollywood where they brought their truck (which according to the owner, really gets around -- to San Diego no less!) Favorite was the UBE CUSTARD with it's vibrant purple, and the PB and J with peanuts on top. Owner even threw in some surprises in our box as it was the end of the day -- THANK YOU MY FRIEND! I was looking for a late night donut shop in the area which seems to be a dying breed these days since donut shops especially seem to close earlier than most other places. I came across The Donuttery which definitely caught me eye not only due to the fact it's open 24/7 but because it also had an expansive set of donut flavors to satisfy every donut lover out there. We got to the shop and it felt like walking into donut heaven. I was amazed at how many different donuts they had and the selection with it being 8pm. It took us some time to decide on which one to get since there were so many options and I honestly just wanted to try them all cause they all looked great. After some heavy thinking we decided on a red velvet, crème brûlée, cronut, and a mochi donut. We were all pretty full since we just had dinner but even then these donuts blew us away. The cream cheese on the red velvet was so perfect and the whole donut was very cake like. The mochi donut was also so doughy and the icing on top was great. The crème brûlée had a hard shell layer on the top just like what you'd expect from that flavor with a a delicious cream filling. I didn't get a chance to try the cronut but going off the other donuts I know it would be amazing as well. Let's be honest everyone at some point has that craving for a late night donut or even midday donut but at whatever time you need you can be rest assured that this place will satisfy whatever donut needs you have which makes it an easy place to recommend. read more

Disappointed and Overpriced I've given this donut place more than a few chances, but I'm finally done. The customer service is consistently awful--everyone working there has that "bland attitude," acting like they're doing you a favor just by acknowledging you. Every visit, I feel rushed and unwelcome. The donuts? Inconsistent at best. Some days they're fresh and tasty, but other times they're hard, dry, and taste like they've been sitting out for days. On top of that, there's too many people working behind the counter, which makes it hard to even see what's available. Not a great experience when you're trying to make a choice. And let's talk price--these donuts are way overpriced for the quality. You'd expect something special at these rates, but it's clear the quality has gone downhill. What used to be a decent spot just isn't worth it anymore. We bought 3 donuts and spent $8.00 and they wanted a tip on top of it. A tip is earned through good customer service and quality donuts. I forgot about this place until my manager brought in some doughnuts from here. I used to love their vegan maple bars and their huge selection of other vegan flavors! Today I tried the Pistachio filled, carrot cake, and regular chocolate doughnut. The flavors tasted too artificial/sweet and honestly not very yummy. The carrot cake probably didn't have one carrot in it. It did not taste like carrot cake at all. I wasn't the only one that thought this too. The frosting was not very cream cheese-y either. Someone said it reminded them of pre-packaged normal frosting you get from the store... that's pretty accurate. The pistachio filled doughnut was more manageable to eat, although the flavor was very floral forward which was weird. The unfilled parts were better but also not the best I've eaten. The regular chocolate doughnut was probably best overall as it tasted like chocolate but, again, too sweet. If you don't mind artificial flavors, go right on ahead. We've been here about ten times and have always been satisfied with what we order. I love coming here because they have always had fresh gluten feee donuts available with different flavors to choose from. My personal favorites are the gluten free chocolate cake donut, the gluten free vanilla donut, and their matcha latte. This place is so awesome because you can come here with anyone and they will find something that is super delicious, too. The service here is dependent on how long the line is and how many people they have working. But to be honest, even when I've come here and it's busy, I've never had more than a 10 minute wait to pick out my donuts and pay. Although we have come here during the day multiple times as well, our favorite time to come is at night so that the wait will for sure not be too long. I ordered Nutella stuffed donut, Ube (omg, a MUST MUST try!) - it has a hint of coconut and Ube - - yummm! Ube will be my number vote to get. Their glazed raised is my favorite. It is fluffy yet hearty with a delightfully sweet chew to it, sweet but not too sweet. It tastes way better than a regular glazed raised at your typical donut shop. Their carrot cake donut has a nice cream cheese frosting graciously and generously layered on top. There are little carrot pieces inside, and it has all the warm spices that you would taste in a carrot cake except in a donut texture. Their malasadas are just all right. The breading/donut was thick not airy. I'm spoiled by Paderia's malasadas, but it's awesome that The Donuttery even offers them especially with the delicious, and hard to find, guava filling. Their devil's food was soft in texture all around. My favorite is when they are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside like at K & M Donuts. Their ham and cheese croissant was nice. I took out the ham and ate the croissant with the melty cheese warmed up *chef's kiss*. The variety is unbeatable. I love their blue berry and strawberry as well. Prices vary, the half dozen we ordered ended up being $20 which is pretty pricy. All of the donuts were good to very good. My favorite was the croissant donut and the plain glaze donut (sorry I'm a plain Jane with sweets). They are known for their blueberry donut. I thought it was good but there was something artificial in the flavor that you don't get when you have a really good blueberry muffin. I tried several of them- the crème brûlée doughnut with custard filling is one of the best donuts I've ever had . They had a selection of heart shaped donuts with frosting, which were absolutely to die for as well. I was quite disappointed with the French cruller - it was beyond dry ( a note to the staff try the crullers at Simone's donuts in Long Beach if you wanna know how to make a French cruller!) . I've been to The Donuttery countless times! SO consistently good! My favorite has to be that CRONUT. Other favorites include the buttermilk donut, the creme brulee donut, and the crumb donut. Honestly, everything is really good. I try something new almost every time and haven't gone wrong yet. Their donuts are always a hit when I bring them to the office or to gatherings with my friends. Was happy to stumble upon this cute little shop after a doctor's appointment nearby. It was pretty busy on Sunday morning. But they were well-staffed and efficient. The donuts were well-stocked and looked DELICIOUS. So much so that I stopped for a coffee and breakfast sandwich and couldn't help but snag a few mochi donuts for my family, too. The breakfast sandwich was huge and tasty. It came with a whole orange and that made me smile. It was just a cute/cool surprise. I ordered a custom order, paid for over the phone, that was given away to a different customer that was not me or anyone I authorized to pick up the order on my behalf. Management said they "reviewed camera footage" that showed someone picked up my order, but they definitely didn't ID them, nor did they verify the card that was used to place the order, because if they did, they would have known it wasn't me. Now management has said they will not reverse the charge, nearly $40, with no proof of who picked up my order. Terrible judgement call by management and they can not provide proof of who actually picked up my order. The custom order was also for my child's birthday party, so you can imagine how disappointed I was when I went in 2 hours before the party to pick up my order, only to find out it wasn't available, the person at the counter said they had no record of it, and they couldn't make it at that time because no bakers were on shift. Very poor customer service from management. At least the people working the counter were nice, apologetic, and tried to help as much as they could. Very disappointed and now have to have my credit card company dispute the charge. read more
