Omg these are so savory and fluffy and soft and fun to bring to events. They're not cheap, but they are yummy. We took some to a gathering and they were such a hit! Everyone loved them, some friends even texted after asking where we got them. We got the breakfast box which has a great variety. I think you can also half that. Sweet mother of savory, kolaches are bomb. The texture of these bread bombs is amazing, doughy and slightly chewy but not too heavy. The filling, on the other hand, is super generous. I tried the jalapeno popper one and it was sooo good, super bacon-y and the jalapeno had some bite. The salty spicy filling contrasted the chewy, slightly sweet bread -- totally craveable. Can't believe this location has been open for a few years now. I'm so glad I don't have to drive to Tustin for the delicious Kolache buns. I love getting the breakfast variety to share with co-workers. I never wake up early enough to cook breakfast in the morning, so when I want a warm breakfast, Kolache is the place! They are open daily from 5am to 2pm, so it's really convenience for me since I start work at 7am. In the morning there's always 2 cashiers so the line moves pretty quickly! The store is a little small, but they have about 6-8 small tables for people to dine in, but most of the time people are picking up to-go. In the recent two years they have improved their packaging and it's very sturdy. Highly recommend for a quick breakfast and potlucks! read more

One of my co-workers brought a variety pack into work for us to try and MAN was it good. So I grab the wife last Saturday morning and off we went for breakfast. We both tried two of the breakfast Kolaches. We both had one sausage, egg and cheese which are our favorite ones so far. I had the chorizo, egg and cheese which was really good but I like the first one better. My wife had the bacon, egg and cheese and really likes it but again the sausage one is our favorite. I had a black coffee and their coffee is awesome. It's Katz brand and didn't have any bitterness at all. We were very full after our two Kolaches it will be back. VERY interesting. I'm sure you need to have grown up with these and/or they are from your Czech culture, or it's an acquired taste. HOWEVER, I just toasted one of the turkey and dressing that I bought yesterday and ... it's not bad toasted. In fact, A LOT BETTER than the same flavor I ate yesterday, which was warmed up in the microwave before I left. The slightly crisper texture reminds me of toasted bread and isn't as doughy as the one I ate yesterday. I'm still disappointed though that "turkey" means lunch meat instead of "the real deal" of fresh turkey, especially since we are two weeks away from Thanksgiving!! I bought six in total. All savory. My sister raves about this place so decided to surprise her and grab a few on the way over to her house. The dough is so pillowy soft with a slight sweetness. The ones I've had in Texas, the bread is nice and round and puffy. The bread from this place is a bit deflated and sad. The filling was fine and I had also got the Korean beef. There is another location in Tustin - but I live much closer to this one in Huntington Beach. Stopped by here last Saturday to pick up a box before a group activity I was meeting up for nearby. I picked up a couple of the Sausage/Egg/Cheese kolaches, as well as BBQ Brisket. When I returned the next day (because it really is that good) - I picked up Sausage & Gravy, Country Breakfast, and BBQ brisket on a smaller order for myself. Each kolache was perfectly soft, fluffy and doughy. I prefer soft foods over crunchy/crispy - so I was definitely a fan upon first bite. The ratio of dough to filling was generous - I think my favorite among the different ones I picked up would be the BBQ Brisket, Country Breakfast (January kolache of the month), and Sausage w/ Gravy. For some reason, the Sausage/Egg/Cheese didn't sit well with me - but other people in my group enjoyed it. Maria was super friendly, patient, and helpful in signing me up for their rewards program - which lets you earn points based on your purchases, while also letting you pick up a free kolache of whatever their monthly special is. Parking can be tight if you park in their shared lot with the urgent care next door, as well as the Starbucks. What I do is park in the adjacent lot (there's a mixed use business center and cafe in this lot) - and walk down the little embankment (it's not that steep) into this lot. Parking was okay since this place is at a corner of main cross streets. It wasn't super busy on a Saturday morning at 10 am but I imagine it would be difficult getting in and out of on a busy workday. The place itself was rather small. The food is all displayed on slanted shelves behind the cash register like a normal donut or bagel place. Pricing is decent with it being $3-$6 per item depending on what you're getting. Despite there being so many options to choose from, it wasn't overwhelming to look at the menu at all. They have it sectioned off between savory, breakfast, croissant, traditional, etc so it was very easy to navigate. We got: Italian chicken ($3.95) Sausage, egg, and cheese ($4.90) Polish, Texas ($5.95) Once you purchase your items, they ask if you would like your food warmed up or not which was great because we were starving. Surprisingly, our favorite was the Italian chicken kolache. It was basically a bite of Italian chicken pasta. The first bite was bursting with flavor. It was hot, cheesy, and saucy. Second favorite was the Texas polish. The polish sausage was extremely juicy and I liked the flavoring of the sausage itself. It had some type of sauce and pepper so it had a slight spice to it. Lastly, the breakfast one was our least favorite. Not saying it wasn't good but there's some things to improve on. The would be nicer if the egg was fluffier and also if the sausage was smaller in size and not huge awkward chunks so it could potentially be distributed more with each bite having a bite of sausage. Seating inside is cramped and not ideal. It's kind of awkward while waiting for your food since you're either standing right next to someone who's sitting, next to the bathroom and blocking someone trying to get to/from the bathroom, or the doorway. I stopped by Monday morning and a young blonde girl was working the counter. No greeting, no friendliness, she seemed annoyed that I asked a couple questions even after mentioning that it was my first time. I ordered a cream cheese kolache that tasted great! The bread was light and simple while the cream cheese offered a good sweetness and textural change. I hope they do a cream cheese and fruit combo topping one day! I also tried the strudel nik which I think was blueberry filled. The pastry was denser but still flaky and had a good amount of filling! Wife has been preaching about this place for a while and I kind of poo pooed it since I'd only really had the polish sausage and sausage and gravy kolaches, which are good but I'm not really a sausage and gravy fan. This time I picked what I wanted and had the Philly Cheesesteak, BBQ and Korean BBQ options. The cheesesteak was unbelievable - it tastes exactly like a very good Philly cheesesteak sandie. The BBQ had some of the best brisket I can recall having, including the best BBQ joints in SoCal! The Korean BBQ was good too but the first two were out of this world. I was hungry granted and will try these again soon but I was entirely surprised and impressed with today's picks! I have no idea about service or ambiance but the food is money. as someone who grew up in tx less than 10 min away from a kolache factory, I was SO happy seeing there was one in california and had to pay a visit. the 40 minute drive was absolutely worth it. my only complaint is they're pretty pricey, as 10 kolaches ran us almost $50. we got a pretty decent assortment and even got to try the special san antonio kolache. it was packed with beans, chorizo, bacon, and potatoes , making it pretty savory and perfectly creamy. my go to is the ham and cheese, and it tasted just the way I remembered. the workers were very patient, and I appreciated they marked the box so we knew which ones we were eating. shop is pretty big and you can definitely sit inside to enjoy ones after being microwaved. read more
