I've lived in the northwest suburbs for the past 20 years. I usually will stop at this place for typical Greek owned diner breakfast which have always been awesome. Being that I'm Greek myself and my family had many restaurants around Chicago. Recently though, I went in and noticed that they do the what I call "the Covid excuse" of charging a percentage of using a credit card. I understand and get that a lot of these business establishments are doing it. However, 3 Brothers is charging this fee when using a debit card. When I went there today, I saw that sign and I asked the one gentleman who I believe might be the owner if that fee app applies to debit cards. He told me that the cash register/card swipe just does what it does which I know is BS. The lady walked up and asked me if there was an issue and I believe her to perhaps be his wife. I told the both of them that federally it's illegal to charge a percentage when it's a debit card. When I told her that she advised that there's ATM in the corner when I told her I'm not interested and I left. I'm not trying to create any sort of havoc for this family business. However, I don't appreciate as a longtime customer to be taken advantage of. If you look at the Attorney General of Illinois website it'll explain the charging the fee for a debit card is federally illegal. Until this restaurant changes its ways I'm not going there. read more

Birthday dinner out with a dashing 79 year old bachelor and this what he wanted...just great food to go with the great company! This was a fab choice for dinner...5 Star everything! The interior of this diner was exceptional...modern, clean and very chic! Saturday night and this place was full of regulars and guests, so they are definitely doing something right here at Three Brothers. Diner food was excellent, service from Alexis was great and the couple that owns the place checked on us a couple of times during dinner--it seems like a rarity to meet the ownership during a visit. Our beverages never went empty, the service staff didn't miss a beat and our bellies were full of great, healthy food. All the salads were cool, crisp and the perfect size. 2 diners ordered the Calf Liver which was so tender--perfectly cooked with bacon and sautéed onions. Our Sizzling Chicken, which was a new entree, was excellent--crispy, cheesy, creamy, and spicy--all served on a sizzling platter. We even had an ice cream Sundae for the birthday fellow---he was so happy. Cakes, pies and ice cream sundaes were top notch. Their Key Lime Pie was sold out but there are plenty of other choices...cheesecake, Tres Leches, Vanilla Berry layer cake...the perfect finishers. Nice family resturant open since 1980 so you know it's good if it's been around this long. the place is very cozy I really enjoyed my veggie skillet and cinnamon swirl pancakes they were super light and fluffy. service was fast and pleasant. They even have a senior special meal which I saw a lot of seniors coming in and enjoying as the meal comes with a soup or salad and dessert for 13.99. Service as always was great. We spent $60 on food that was grossly overcooked. Fried chicken was so dry and tough I was able to eat a couple of pieces of meat from the small leg and nothing else. Salad was very fresh. Baked potato was also very dry. Veges were good. Ribs and chicken were also very overdone and we threw out most of it. Shrimp dinner was ok but shrimp was tough. Soup was good. Not sure what happened as we've never had an experience like this before. read more

This was the new restaurant of the week on my get out of town weekend since it's finally getting nice out. This is one of those Greek vibe style restaurants that looked relatively modern and clean. The hostess was very friendly and oddly seated me right in front of the hostess/register counter when there was plenty of secluded spots open. I started with a Bloody Mary spicy which was disappointing because it was in a plastic mug with a huge space in the bottom and it was small for a mug so I felt like I was getting ripped off for $9 and it had a terrible garnish of two olives only. It was not spicy at all and average at best. I'm a sucker for country fried steak so that's what I ordered with white toast. The country fried steak looked good with three eggs. The white toast was noticeably larger and more dense than the average white toast and more on the bakery side which was buttered, thank you. The eggs were perfect sunny side up. The hash browns were shredded and perfect golden brown. The country fried steak was also golden brown with a crispy shell topped with country gravy that tasted how you would imagine country gravy should taste. Overall it was a solid breakfast but the Bloody Mary left a bad taste in my mouth when the water plastic cup was bigger plus price vs size vs lack of toppings compared to other places and I do them all over the country. read more

My family and I ordered food for take out by calling in and ordering. The food was made right on time of pick up so everything tasted fresh when eating the food at home. Their portions were large and we enjoyed the taste of the food. Some of the food was a bit salty, but we had enough left over for additional meals after. If you want a very consistent diner, look no further. 3 Bros never disappoints. Great eggs, a surprisingly great Southwest Chicken Salad...great soups too. They have a pasta dish that while I know it tastes like the sauce starts from a jar, it's delicious anyway :). Their cappuccino is also great (though it's more like a dessert with the whipped cream). My family and I love it. For a diner it's 5/5...but as it's a diner it's the top mark 4/5. A great family restaurant, clean, consistent, great wait staff, solid food. Great eggs (I haven't ever tried the pancakes/waffles but imagine they are solid as the egg and dinner dishes are routinely good -- and there's an extensive menu with a variety of different cuisine like a good, old fashioner would have (yet 3 Bros has a much nicer, cleaner restaurant than the avg diner). I'd recommend 3 Bros over all the other competitors in town -- and actually would pick it over Around The Clock (though Around the Clooc has those desserts that get my kids going crazy --they are neck and neck) and Andy's too. read more

I just visited there I ordered chicken and waffle, the waffle was cold. They did offer to remake it, I declined because my breakfast was already ruined. I had started eating the chicken, and it was hot and fresh, taking the waffle back to remake it would have made the chicken not hot and fresh. I complained about it and was told well we offered to remake it. Point is, the food should have been served hot initially. I will never dine here again. read more

Went with friends this week and was so disappointed. The one positive was the young man who greeted us, seated us and ran the register. The food was mediocre at best. Most were egg dishes and just unseasoned. Pasta was not fully cooked and sauce was cold. Cups were dirty. Weren't given enough straws after asking repeatedly. When we received refills (only on water-not on the paid drinks as requested), the man serving them set them down so hard they consistently splashed into the food. Waitress seemed uninterested; if she would ask us how we were doing she would turn away half way into the question and be walking away before we could respond. Our bill was near $100 and we didn't even want to take the left overs with us, never received refills on the paid drinks, and were overall so disappointed and embarrassed we brought out of town guests here. read more

Drove a sports team from Wisconsin to compete at Marion Central Catholic HS. I went to Yelp and found 3-Brothers still serving breakfast. So, took a chance. Well, it was worth the stop. This place was good. We are in town to visit family. We walked in at 10:15 pm- they close at 11. Wow! Great. The older lady waitress seemed grumpy- food was fast and pretty tasty. Older gentleman sat us ( think he was the owner) and what I believe to be his wife- checked us out at the end. She offered my kids a toy from a box of goodies. Very sweet. You know an establishment is bad when you go in expecting poorly made food and you're STILL disappointed by it. Food was just bad quality, atmosphere of the restaurant was depressing and lifeless, and to top it off....a kid decided to mop the section right next to us with cheap febreze cleaner which I had to smell while trying to choke down my food. Sometimes you just need to keep it simple. Three Brothers does just that. It's an American Diner conveniently located right next to the Best Western Woodstock Inn. If I didn't know any better, I wouldn't have even recognized it as a restaurant. To me it looks like part of the hotel. I had the navy bean soup with a buffalo chicken sandwich and fries. There was nothing to speak of with the presentation, but the food tasted exactly like it should. My navy bean soup was spiced up with lots of black pepper. The buffalo chicken sandwich was moist, crispy, and evenly sauced. I also like how they didn't try to load up my plate with a bunch of iceberg lettuce and an unripened, stiff tomato. I don't like my tomatoes stiff or thick. Unless you're willing to drive all the way out to Huntley, this is the place to go! The staff provides excellent service! read more
