Major drainage clog in kitchen and laundry last Saturday. I call my home insurance company and they send out Shady Plumbing Co., Inc. Two hours later, and a huge mess left for me to clean up later, that plumber announces he has snaked 70ft and can't fix the problem (but he has a guy who can hydrojet, which is what is needed and he'll get me a good price). When I decline and say I want to go through the insurance company, he tells me that there are roots in the system and that he'll report this to the company (which then absolves them of all further work, leaving me in the lurch). His last words, don't use the kitchen or laundry until someone comes out here and fixes this. After another plumber scheduled an appointment for today (Tues) and then stood me up and told me to find someone else, I did: The Drain Co.! YES, exactly as people here write and suggest... Called at 10:30am, and Ramon came by 12:30pm. Looked things over. Was careful and courteous. Went to work and within 30 minutes time, the major problem is resolved efficiently, cleanly, and cheaply. I'm not looking for more plumbing issues any time soon, but if I have them then I know where I am turning. What a relief to have found. Recommended for sure. read more

Does the Drain Company need yet another positive review. Well it is my turn. Living in the same house for thirty years I have needed drain services on many occasions. I have dealt with many bait & switch drain service advertisers trying to get in my door at a low fee only to find a reason to charge me significantly more than they advertised. In my opinion most of the time it was fraud. I know there must be hundreds of honest hardworking drain cleaning companies in our area it only takes a few crooks to spoil our perception of any profession. In this case after talking to a few chamber members I called The Drain Company, Alonzo was prompt, efficient, courteous, and clearly interested in doing a great job. Bathroom sink clogged up and would not drain over the weekend. Called after hours and got their answering service which took a message. 20 minutes later received a ph call back from tech who offered to come over right away. I decided to schedule appt for next weekday (a little cheaper rate). Tech came over on monday within the promised two hr time window. Fixed clogged bathroom drain quickly and tested no problem. I can't believe that they have been here and are done already! I didn't call until after 9am and was told they would arrive between 11am and 1pm. Before noon I received a call saying I was next and the techinician was on his way. He arrived within 5 minutes. Friendly courteous, and went right to work. Cleared the drain and even cleaned the sink for me! When he left, he said to let him know if there are any problems, and he come righ back, he is in the area every day. I had this house for 24 years. Had an emergency major sewer blockage on Saturday night in my townhome. Out of 4 24-hr plummers called, only two actually replied. At 3AM one asked for $325 to come and only on the condition that I know where are my drain clean-out covers. I did not. Mark from Drain Co. has quoted 145 and was willing to come, though expressed concern for noise and nudged me NICELY to let him come @ 6AM. He has arrived @ 5:45, found all the covers, built a proper wall from some plywood in my garage so that sewage stream would not go over the entire garage, but only the front half of it :( and kept on cleaning from one vent to the next for the next three hours ( four runs of 100 - 150 feet each, before we have located the clog). Total bill was certainly higher ($65 per half hour after the first hour), but we (myself and Association President) felt it was reasonable for a Sunday morning call. To sum it all up - rapid response even @ 3AM on the weekend, good demeanor/personality, clean person, good work - I tipped without any regrets. Not the very cheapest, but not the most expensive either. read more

I have used this company for years, but never again. I hired them two months ago to clear a main line. They had to remove the toilet to clear the line. They cleared the drain, but the toilet came loose. The tenants did not report this problem immediately and the Drain Company would not stand by their poor installation due to the time lapse. The cost for this service was over $190.00 and if the toilet was installed properly it would not have come loose. They wanted to charge an additional charge to correct their poor installation. A company should stand by their work and I will never use them again. This company lacks good customer service. read more

Shortly after toilet tank started leaking secondary huge crack. Contacted company who had a list of lies-including already cracked. I have now used this company a number of times over the last year. This last visit was not a great experience and I don't plan to use them again. The guy who came out was not professional and the whole experience was cringeworthy. We had a suspected toy in the line somewhere and he had to pull the toilet off. He had a bowl full of toilet water and I asked how he was going to get the water out and he asked if I had a straw- really?! Then he used a wet vac to pull the water out and was going to dump sewage down my bathtub. I stopped him and he dumped it in my yard. Then he said he wished he could pull the toy out himself but his arm was too big but my toddlers arm was perfect size. Bad joke after bad joke and not funny- just do the freakin job! All said and done they charged me $150 more than they had previously for doing the same job. I called the office to discuss the price discrepancy and I had to ask Raina repeatedly to let me speak because she kept interrupting me and I could not get a sentence out to get my question or response in. When reviewing what work they have done for me in the past she suggested I watch my child as some of the visits have been due to him putting something in the toilet. Excuse me, but how dare you! I'm the customer and you do not know me, our life or our situation. You guys are paid to do a good job, be professional and I did not get this. Our family has been using this business for years. We have old plumbing, which clogs regularly, as there are roots growing into it. The service from TDC has usually been excellent. We just had our sewer line clog yesterday, and everything was overflowing. The Drain Co guy, Robert, came in half an hour, had a 150' line, got the problem solved in no time, at a reasonable price ($135). He was super nice and knowledgeable, and didn't try to upsell us. By way of comparison, we had called a cheaper place first, which charged us $69 and didn't get the drains flowing, and the toilet was still flooding. Then that first company insisted we needed a $1500 hydrojet or we would never get the drain unclogged. We only called them bc it was a holiday evening. The technician arrived at promised time. He was very courteous, professional and neat. He first asked enough questions to determine what and where the problem was. He explained what he was going to do and gave me an estimated amount, which was the same amount after he completed the work. He cleaned up the work area before he left. I agree with every review on here. We had then out the night after Thanksgiving for A stopped up drain due to potato peels down the sick. The technician Kent was so professional even though we were his last stop on a very long day, was quick to fix the drain, and charged us only for the drain without trying to up sell us on any other work or tell us we needed things we didn't need. We love this company, its staff and its services. We used them several years ago to clean out a shower drain. We were so impressed that we kept their card for future use. Today we needed them badly. CLOGGED KITCHEN SINK: I woke up one morning and noticed my kitchen sink was clogged. I grabbed my tools and started snaking away under the kitchen sink. When I put the trap back together and ran some water through the faucet, the sink was still clogged. The water was not even going down the drain anymore and started to collect in the sink. I came across "The Drain Co" and decided to give them a call. I spoke with Raeanna over the phone who was very professional and kind. She told me that someone can come and fix the sink within an hour...Did I mention that this happened on New Years Day?! I was amazed that someone can come within an hour on a major holiday!
