Our shower drain was suddenly really slow, I checked for clogs, nothing visible. Our old plumber retired last year so we needed a new one. I called George, he sent Jordan out in 90 minutes. After snaking it 80 feet and checking everything out with cameras, etc. he discovered that our original 83 yr old cast iron drain was shot. After replacing it we discovered that the 83 yr old cast iron main was also shot. They had to go down 12 feet. It was a big job but Jordan explained everything every step of the way, all work was done promptly and efficiently, the crew was great and Jordan made sure that everything was cleaned up. These guys are fair, honest, hardworking, and the most professional plumbing team we've ever had do work at our home. They will have our business for as long as they're around, and let me tell you why they deserve yours. After another plumbing company did work (close to $20k of it) on the plumbing for our house, we STILL had issues. Roots just two feet away from the section of work done by that company were causing backups throughout the entire hours--tubs and toilets overflowing even when we weren't using any water in the house! We had that company come and look at what was happening; they arrived, gave us a quote, and tried to get us to quickly accept their bid. I felt like getting a couple other bids, and reached out to George and The Drain Defender. George took my call and arrived at our house with his son the very same day. They quickly assessed the problem, asking questions and inspecting parts of our system that the other company hadn't even thought to look at. They offered us a price that was exceptional (read: more than exceedingly fair), and didn't try to pressure us into booking them. They were honest and upfront about when they could do this work, and how long it might take them. We made the (smart) decision to go with The Drain Defender. In the leadup to completing the job, George was in constant communication with us to make sure that our availability would work with his schedule. George was at our house with a solid crew just a couple of days after we booked him, and they were in and out within 6-7 hours. While here, they did the work that they bid for us, and also cleaned up sloppy fixes made by plumbers we had used before (at no extra cost!). When they left, they hauled away both the piping that they replaced, as well as the several yards of piping left under our house by plumbers from our past that we didn't know about (again, at no extra cost!). While previous plumbers had left messes, George and The Drain Defender team cleaned up after themselves and those plumbers who came before them. A fantastic experience from start to finish :) Let me preface this with a) the limited occasions for the of use the word "fantastic" when referring to plumbing repair, and b) the fact that we had to part with a lot of money due to needing a main line, trenchless replacement. Even so, still going to go with the all-the-more meaningful word "fantastic." OK, so here it is... Poop kept invading our house. We have a couple toddlers, so I have a hard enough time keeping poop off me & our stuff. NOTHING can prepare you for waking up or coming home to poop flooding out of the toilet and on to your life. Once it gets in the carpets it's NEVER COMING OUT. I should probably bring up the villain in this tale: The Ficus We've had a love/hate relationship with our ficus trees in the front since we moved in a few years back. They're pretty! They have birds in them! They're the only plant this parent-of-young children has managed not to kill due to lack of care or watering in the front of our house! All that said, ficus are also vile, invasive, water-hunting, pipe-destroying predators. As you can imagine, the ficus tree that some genius (maybe before Google?!) planted directly over our mainline plumbing caused issues. I did extensive research on the options to resolve this (tree removal, hydro jetting, pipe materials (ours were clay), trenched and trenchless repairs [fun fact: Eric Wood invented the latter in 1971]); in the end, we decided that a camera check & the trenchless would probably be the way to go. I located several nearby companies with the expected qualifications that they be experienced in trenchless repairs, are licensed, bonded, and insured, have decent Yelp reviews, and didn't have any BBBureau complaints. With some price comparison, Drain Defender came out on top. They're genuinely a nice group of people to work with. It's like having a kind uncle pick up the phone and let you know it's all going to be taken care of, quickly, for a fair price. So at last, we stuck a camera down into the undermost regions of our driveway. The find? OMG sweet-potato-sized roots invading along the length of the main line. Dirt filling the pipes. Madness & despair. Luckily Mario & the Drain Defenders team were able to get us a quick quote and have the whole job (cutting cement, digging WAY deep, pipe bursting & trenchless replacement, city permits & inspection, cement re-pour) done & wrapped up in just 2 days! That's crazy fast (because they're pros). So all in all, I don't wish a main line repair on anyone; but if you have one, these guys are a good decision waiting to happen. In Burbank? Looking for a plumber? Don't bother reading - just pick up the phone and call these guys. The details: There is one golden rule in trade work. Cheap, Fast, Good - pick two. But with Drain Defender I think may have discovered one company that manages to tackle all 3. They came out and solved a sewage disaster on my property recently. Cheap:pretty easy to gauge this - they did a lot of good work for a very fair price. It's pretty easy to check prices for most types of jobs, and in this case it's clear as day I got a very good deal. If anything it favors me.....also when they give a price to fix something they don't add charges later for things like video camera inspection, etc. In fact, on Friday they came out to snake a pipe, and ended up using the camera to inspect without even charging me. Fast: I called Thursday night, and had Mario at my house Friday morning. When things got complicated, George came by to give a hand. When it became apparent that there was a lot more work to be done they came out Saturday morning ready to tackle the heavy lifting. That's pretty fast. They completed the job in 1 day. From the moment I noticed a serious issue to "problem solved" was less than 48 hours. Good: They came with some serious man power (5 in total). They had two trucks fully equipped, all the tools they needed, and everything was done cleanly without injury, property damage, or shortcuts. When they ran in to a problem they didn't tell me "we will come back tomorrow". They have organized and well stocked vehicles. They were extremely conscious of safety, and the supervisors handled the more dangerous aspects of the work. They were very clean, and sensitive to my property. They took time to explain things to me, and show me what they were doing. Most importantly, they solved my problems with a high degree of competency and pride. I'm one of those customers that hovers over a job - so I saw everything they did and never felt concern for one moment. If anything I was impressed. - and some of their passion for plumbing rubbed off on me. At the end of the day, I am relieved that I called these guys and not anyone else. They are good people! A quick summary of the work they did for me: fixed a busted pipe under the house, replaced the original cast iron sewer main under the house as well as about 40' of pipe extending out beyond my porch. Installed an additional cleanout in front of my porch, unclogged the sewer main (clogged with roots near the city connection), diagnosed the status of the old pipes connected to the city via video, and de-rooted them with the mother of all snakes. Once done, they put everything back, cleaned the yard, threw the trash away, and left the yard looking better than when they showed up. Not bad.... read more

I am HOA President at a condominium that had a pretty bad leaking pipe. We had a plumber come out, and he said it was a riser pipe that needed to be replaced.
