Holy Christ. What a place. Sort of deceptive, the view of it from Highway 19. But it checks all the…read moreboxes for mildly sleazy dive bar with black ceiling and biker vibe. The back patio is fun. They have bands. It's a cool space very tropical open colorful- I like it. It rocks the line between scary and fun, win win win. Feels a little dangerous, like anything could happen or is possible. I'll tell you what's not a win oysters rockefeller, were possibly hot at some point, but left to sit so long they became cold and inedible. Do not have that. If you can have half dozen raw, please partake. Otherwise the cooked oysters are a gamble. The drink specials are great. Good spot to go with a group. Despite the oysters, some of the other food was really good and I can't remember what it was because I was more focused on margaritas. Amen, have at it.

He kept saying "she knows me" so that didn't happen. We wound up moving to the back of the bar. We were both disappointed with the Oysters Rockefeller we ordered. They were covered in cheese and we could barely taste them. We scraped most of it off and unfortunately the spinach came with it. The coleslaw was meh. Service was good but we won't be back.

Stellar service as soon as I walked in and that continued with Piper, my server. The fries could have been crispier (I asked for them crispy/well done) but the fish sandwich was the star of the show so I didn't mind. I chose the local IPA over the sierra Nevada Hazy and there was no contest - a much better IPA. The Grouper sandwich was MP so I asked, I got severely burned at Legal Seafoods in Boston last year when Mr, Big Shot didn't ask first. Sam's is a wonderful place for all your eating needs.

I had just eaten a huge breakfast, but had to stop. This place is so warm and welcoming, so cool and laid back, so friendly and chill. It's great for all ages. There's a huge deck, overlooking the Gulf... and an extra tiki bar, off to the side (and who doesn't need an extra tiki bar?!) The food menu is tempting and extensive (grouper, stop calling to me!) and the drink menu is fun and fabulous (and also calling to me). I had a banana/amoretto concoction that made me wonder what I'd been doing with my life, when I should have been here. I kept trying to get hungry enough to order food, but couldn't do it. I'll just have to go back ASAP and get you the seafood and starters info you richly deserve. Sam's is right there on the waterfront, next to the picnic pavilion. The private parking lot is sort of small-but somehow I snagged that spot at noon on a Saturday. There's also street parking close by. I'll bet it's packed at night, though, when they have live music and it's sunset time. Come check them out. If you get there before me, please tell me about the food!
