The three of us went out on Memorial Day and stopped at Rum Runners next to Catches for lunch. It was blazing hot so we all ordered the Caesar salad plus a plateful of beef nachos and a side of fries. Our food arrived pronto and we just as pleased as can be. Our server was the bartender and I watched her smile at at us and others that she was serving. What a great employee! She seemed genuinely happy to see us and serve us. We had a nice view of all the boats going by and it was a very pleasant lunch. The bill came to $55 and i tipped our smiley server $10. This was our first visit to Rum Runner. They have great drink specials daily from 3pm-closing for a great deal. We both had tacos: mine was grouper which has a very generous piece of shrimp whereas my partner had shrimp which was a bit more sparse. Both were yummy but the blackened grouper was a bit too salty for my taste. Music was great and that's what brought us here in the first place. When navigating, look for Catches of which Rum River is a part. All told, it was a fun evening on the water. Get there by car or boat. read more

We finally stopped to eat here. We are members of Freedom Boat club and often take boats out from here. Pros: The food was hot and fresh Three of us had the fish and chips, the others had a salad and the smash burger. The fish and chips was good. Not the best we have had, but was very good. Smash burger was apparently amazing and the salad fresh and delicious. Service was friendly, took a minute to get the check but other than that it was great. It was pet friendly, she even brought some water for the baby. Cons: as this is a cabana style sports bar setting and open to the outside which is nice. Smoking is allowed. Some may like this, but they lose points from me. Only other con is that the restrooms are down a flight of stairs, so those with special needs might struggle. read more

We ordered Fried Grouper tacos with fries and Tiki Bang Shrimp tacos with cole slaw. We finished with a slice of Key Lime Pie! The Tiki Bang Shrimp Tacos were the perfect size and spiced just right! Cole slaw was crispy and fresh! The portion of Fried Grouper on one taco was big enough for 2 . Fries were hot and crispy.. The key lime pie took a little while to get to the table but the server explained that there is limited access to the desserts because of Covid19 and safety reasons which was perfectly fine with us. It was tangy and refreshing just like it should be. I felt very comfortable with this dining experience and will definitely be going back again soon!!! read more

We had a wonderful date nite at the Rum River. We sat by the water and listened to live music and had the best cocktails. The clam chowder was tasty , lobster bites were crispy and grouper sliders were quite lovely. Our waitress was super rad ! Great place for a Saturday evening date night or night out with friends. Right next to Catches, this place nestled into a corner full of life. Live music, great staff, and amazing bartenders. The atmosphere was welcoming and never stingy. Food was delicious!! Highly recommend the Cobb salad and the burger. Mango Mai Tai and mojitos were our drinks of choice. SO YUMMY!!! Parking could be better but there's an overflow lot. There's a lot going on in that little area so just be aware it'll be busy on a weekend night. I've also been there on a Friday at lunch and parking wasn't an issue. Prices: we were SHOCKED we only paid $60-70 for 5 drinks, an app, and 2 dinner entrees. We will be back! read more

There were 4 in our party and 2 of the dinners came not as ordered. The chowder came 10 minutes after the dinners. I love the atmosphere and used to come quite often for the Oysters Rockefeller and a cocktail or two, but they have really gone down hill. The Oysters Rockefeller I received in my last trip in were horrible. One was as hard as concrete. There was a hair that had been pattied up in the crab cake, and was very obvious. Whoever made the crab cake obviously did not care, because there is no way they did not notice it hanging out. We have been going to Rum River for over 4 years. It was our go to place every other Friday night. Nice location with a decent view and live music. We went there last night. It was an absolute nightmare. We waited a long time before the server came over to introduce herself , they no longer have the ribs or corned beef (my husband's favorites) the Tiki Bang Tacos were delicious as always ( I order it every time) . I believe the Pina Coladas went up in price and the menus slightly changed. They had to change our server ,mid way into the dinner. The whole vibe just felt off. We will go back as we enjoy the live music , but we will give it a second thought if we are in the mood for ribs. read more

It is very much like a tourist attraction. Music loid & not very good for a Friday night. The place was packed, but emptied out early. Staff was friendly & consciousness. Drinks expensive & have a minimal amount of alcohol. When I am out for a Friday night, personally I am looking for feeer famlies & stronger drinks. In good consciousness I could not reccomend to anyone. What's a girl to do? Not my vibe or cup of tea, love tikis, but at least put more alcohol in drinks. read more

Not my place. Had dinner with friends and I was so disappointed. Was it the cats running around the restaurant (possibly), or the fact that several servers were petting them (maybe), but I'm going to stick with the fact the food and service was below pare. The server refreshed everyone's drinks but mine. I might not have been drinking as much as my friends but it would have been nice to get another glass of wine - or at least asked if I'd like another. I asked for a glass of water it never arrived. My dinner (fish and chips) was soggy, oily and cold. And if one more person says to me that "this is Florida" I might scream. My coworkers and I visited this location on Thursday. This was my first time here. I'm so glad I did not read the previous reviews as I don't think we would've gone to this spot. Well our servers name was Holly and she was very nice. I did not know what to order but she helped with what was really good. I can agree with another yelper that stated this place is pricey and it is, but when you go out to eat, just enjoy yourself and who you are with. Complain when the food is awful and the service is bad, yet you spent all this $$$ here. I ordered the Tiki Mahi Tacos and they were AMAZING!!!! The Mahi was fried perfect, not over breaded. My coworkers enjoyed what they ate as well. I can't say too much for the drinks as I had bottled water and it was delicious with my meal. The atmosphere is nice even for bringing the children as I saw a cute couple that had three well behaved little ones. There was no band playing and I'm glad though. I wanted to enjoy the conversation and not have to scream depending on how loud they actually are. As we were leaving, right as we stepped outside, there was a guy smoker that just overwhelmed us with his cigarette smoke. I don't think the location for smoking is a good location as you begin to second hand the moment the door opens. Plus depending on the wind that day, it can be overpowering and stink while you're eating. Will I go back, I hope so. Will I recommend this spot, I will tell others of my visit and how it was, hopefully they will make up their own mind and have a nice time like I did. read more

Did not realize that and wouldn't have ordered as 12 years ago we had Catch's on Father's Day and it was so bad we have never gone back. Everyone deserves a second chance! Came here tonight with my family on my short vacation with my mom. The atmosphere is pretty fun and my grouper sandwich was really awesome! Have to say most of my stars were for our server, Nikki. I spent almost 15 years in the hospitality industry and I know a good server when I see one - she was fantastic! So attentive and friendly. We never ran out of drinks, she checked in often but not too often and was extremely pleasant! Improvements could be made with the cleanliness of the main area and mostly the bathroom. It was very messy and disorganized and had a weird smell. Also not crazy that they let people smoke (I don't care, but when you're serving food it's kind of gross). We laughed when the tiny 6oz steak came out but what more can you say, it was $12 bucks. The "filet" tenderloins on my black & bleu salad had really hard pieces of fat running all through them, I had to spit two of them out after running out of jaw strength. Find it hard to believe it was a filet. Regardless though it was a nice dinner with good food and if you're into boobs and short shorts, the waitresses don't leave much to the imagination. read more
