I chose the local IPA over the sierra Nevada Hazy and there was no contest - a much better IPA. The Grouper sandwich was MP so I asked, I got severely burned at Legal Seafoods in Boston last year when Mr, Big Shot didn't ask first. After all these years living in the Bay Area, somehow I'd never been to Hudson Beach. Well that ended in March of 2026... when I rolled by Sam's and saw one last parking spot. I had just eaten a huge breakfast, but had to stop. This place is so warm and welcoming, so cool and laid back, so friendly and chill. It's great for all ages. There's a huge deck, overlooking the Gulf... and an extra tiki bar, off to the side (and who doesn't need an extra tiki bar?!) The food menu is tempting and extensive (grouper, stop calling to me!) and the drink menu is fun and fabulous (and also calling to me). I had a banana/amoretto concoction that made me wonder what I'd been doing with my life, when I should have been here. I kept trying to get hungry enough to order food, but couldn't do it. I'll just have to go back ASAP and get you the seafood and starters info you richly deserve. Sam's is right there on the waterfront, next to the picnic pavilion. The private parking lot is sort of small-but somehow I snagged that spot at noon on a Saturday. There's also street parking close by. I would give 5 Stars for View! But... This used to be our go-to restobar whenever we visit FL. I love dining by the patio for a nice view of the water and the sunset. The view remains the same, but the service and food - fell apart! Shrimp Alfredo - the shrimp tastes good but the pasta and sauce are bland and it becomes hard and sticky once gets cold. Shrimp Basket - I got like 6 pcs of shrimp that has thick breading. The plate looks huge because of the mountain full of fries! It comes with a sauce and coleslaw. Coleslaw tastes good, though. Hurricane Cocktail - not the taste I am expecting. Something missing, not enough Rhum, i guess. One good thing, I got a souvenir plastic glass. I think this is our last visit here. Well, all I have to really say is the manger should be fired. Not sure if the lady working the front was the manager or not. 40-50 people walked out because they were not seating anyone. 70-80 percent of the tables were empty. Was originally told 40 minutes. Tables were half full. Plenty of seating. Then there's 6 ahead. Another hour? Waited two hours. Asked why and was told they weren't seating anyone because the kitchen was backed up. Well I was watching the kitchen from where I was. 6 in the kitchen, 1 working. 3 waitresses eating. Finally left and went to get hooked. Seated in minutes and they are three times as busy! Went here for dinner with some friends and we were drawn in by the idea of watching the sunset over the water--it did not disappoint. The view was absolutely gorgeous and definitely the highlight of the evening. I have a wheat allergy, so the menu was a bit limited for me since many items were fried or had breading. For the table, we ordered the fried pickles and the pulled pork nachos. For four people, it was a lot of food. The nachos were decent but nothing standout, and I couldn't try the pickles because of the breading. For my entrée, I ordered the blackened grouper with potatoes and vegetables. The grouper itself was fresh and flavorful, but the sides fell short. The potatoes had an odd taste, and the vegetables were just okay--I ended up adding extra salt and pepper for flavor. Such high expectations and potential with some disappointing qualities. As I read other reviews we wanted to give it a shot to give it the benefit of the doubt, but I would agree with the majority of the experiences that it's a awesome location for the view and ambiance as the outdoor deck/patio is perfect for a beautiful sunset. However the food quality and service was lacking a bit! Granted we had a big party but food did take a while to come out and one or two dishes were forgotten and some of us had to wait a little longer. The New England clam chowder had to be sent back as it was not edible. It was spoiled and rancid and super sour. Food quality was nothing spectacular nor memorable as it was basic and generic tasting bar and grille type menu items and presentations. I'm a regular at Sam's. You can't beat the view, the dolphins and all the boats going by. The food is very plentiful and good as well. Their shrimp are always amazing and however I got the peel and eat shrimp for the first time. That were large and fresh. However, they were coated in paprika, which tasted good but when you're peeling off all the shells the paprika gets all over your fingers and under your nails. The chart, lemon and scallions. But some of the shrimp had very prominent poop veins. Not my favorite. When you're eating really good seafood you really don't want to have to pull out the poop veins. I would ask that the restaurant do this for their customers since we're paying $25-$27 for a pound of shrimp. Again the shrimp were amazing except for this. read more

We have been loyal customers of Sam's Beach Bar for years, and it's always been our go‑to spot when we have family visiting. After today, that ends. Despite the restaurant being only moderately busy, the service was unbelievably slow. Our drinks took over 20 minutes to arrive, and only then were we told they didn't actually have the champagne needed for the Mimosa they said they could make. Another 20 minutes for a replacement drink. The appetizers were even worse. We waited well over an hour for the first one, and the rest came out one at a time over the next 30 minutes. Nothing arrived together. The entire experience felt disorganized and careless. Our server, Trish, was the only person who seemed to care. She was kind, attentive, and clearly understood how unacceptable the situation was. She brought over the manager, Don -- and that's where things completely fell apart. The specials were outrageously priced and seemed to be less food per dollar. The coconut shrimp appetizer is 5 shrimp for $15.99...the coconut shrimp special? $12 extra ($27.99) for 2 more shrimp and fries? Who priced this? That's crazy! I could've ordered the appetizer with a side of fries and been just as full and a lot less money. And I don't recommend the nachos. Nachos should NEVER have queso. The chips were kind of stale. Nachos should always have the heavy duty chips dropped in the fryer then under the broiler with REAL cheese for crispiness. Nobody wants a soggy mess of nachos. This isn't the movie theater and $16 is too much for these too. The beans and salsa on the nachos were not very flavorful either. Dear Manager of Sam's Hudson, I have been coming here awhile and noticed that you could use some help. You could offer better appetizers for non seafood eating people. Such as, mozzarella sticks, jalapeno poppers, potato skins etc. Your bathrooms are always nasty and smell horrible, a re-model is needed and a good power washing of the concrete would be nice. I also noticed that your bathroom cleaning schedule is never filled out, so no one is checking them periodically. Birds need to be controlled better. Your entrance is inconvenient, parking is terrible. Maybe a sign for the additional parking out back...? Drink prices are seriously inflated with not much liquor in them. 39 $ without tip for 3 drinks... absurd. The chairs are as uncomfortable as you can get. A bar to put your feet on around the bar would be nice and maybe some hangers for lady's purses ? On a personal note, my family and I planned for Christmas eve at your establishment and visited the website there was no mention of a Christmas eve early closing, we even called the day before and on Christmas eve and no one answered so we figured you were open normal hours... My husband took me here for my birthday tonight and we found Sam's Beach bar to be extremely clean. We were greeted by very nice people given a seat right away. You can choose to sit inside or if you want to sit outside on the deck and be closer to the water if you like. Our server was very attentive. She checked on us often gave us refills and as a surprise for my birthday, she gave me ice cream with whipped cream. It was so good! The food was absolutely delicious! In our meal, we had a mixture of crab legs shrimp Muscles, potatoes corn on the cob little neck clams. We were very pleased with everything. Sam's beach bar is a lively place and one of the best things is they do not have any smoking of any kind anywhere in their entire establishment not even at the bar, which was great! There is a ramp for handicap individuals there's a handicap spot in the bathroom some handicap spots, though there could be more, but there was enough.
