    Narraganset at Cherry Tree
    Bruce K.

After hanging out at the other spot for a bit, it was time to get some Yelp reviews done and so I landed here at Cherry Tree where I had a table that actually had a power outlet within reach and a reasonably speedy wireless network connection. Just the one beer - a tin of Narraganset - but it was a nice spot to sit for an hour because I was too early for dinner. The place is nothing fantastic, but they had beer and the bar menu of grub looked pretty decent.

Cherry tree wings and Buffalo wings

I left this place with a food baby but good lord was it worth it. The cherry tree wings are the next best thing since sliced bread. One bit and a plethora of flavors burst in your mouth like BOOM wow! Great meat too. 10/10 get these wings

    Mmmmnmmmm beer

Buffalo wings are PERFECT pub wings. I need to try the burgers, everytime I see one come out it looks and smells amazing. The bartenders are all friendly and work their but off. Today I came in for some wings and a beer by myself. A group of like 30 came in un announced. There was only one bartender on. And she handled it amazingly. And was tentative to EVERYBODY. If you want good pub food, and GREAT service, then The Cherry Tree is a good option!

Thick fries, yuck. Order the onion rings.

really great and a great pub feel to it. The service was exceptional and the food ranging from the nachos to onion rings was equal to that.

They have a limited menu but an extensive selection of scotch and wine. I sat at the bar where the bartender could have cared Lee if I was there. He spent all his time catering to group at the end of the bar. I had to get up and ask the waitress to check on my cheeseburger. The bartender just did not care. I thought the price for a simple cheeseburger at 22.00 as steep. There was nothing special about it. Cheese, hamburger, bun and some jalapeño relish. Take your chances just don't sit at the bar instead sit at a table where the service is better.

We walked into a spacious, contemporary space with a large bar and plenty of seating, the kind of place that works equally well for watching a game with friends or a relaxed dinner. The interior had a comfortable, polished energy that struck a balance between lively and approachable, and the extensive beer and whiskey selection added to the inviting atmosphere. The menu goes beyond typical bar food with a mix of elevated comfort dishes, burgers, sandwiches, seafood, and seasonal entrées. We ordered a few items and found the Chilean sea bass standing out, paired with a flavorful sauce that complemented the fish without overpowering it. The lamb with gnocchi was another popular choice, offering a hearty and well-balanced dish with tender meat and pillowy gnocchi that absorbed the rich sauce. The burgers were cooked to order and made a reliable option for something more casual, arriving juicy and well assembled. For drinks and appetizers, the calamari, burrata, and flatbreads were good options to share, each coming out fresh and well seasoned. The bar program was another highlight, with a wide selection of craft beers, whiskey, and classic cocktails that were well prepared and paired naturally with the food. Service was friendly and welcoming, with staff happy to make recommendations and accommodate different group sizes. While some visits could experience slower service during busy periods, the overall experience tended to be attentive, and the team worked to create a comfortable atmosphere for both families and larger groups. The pacing of the meal stayed steady, and the food came out without much delay. Parking is available in a small lot, though it could fill up during peak dining hours, and the restaurant's location near shopping on Needham Street made it a convenient stop before or after running errands. Overall, District 118 Kitchen & Bar is a solid choice for anyone looking for elevated pub fare in a relaxed setting. The combination of quality food, a strong drink selection, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it equally enjoyable for a casual lunch, dinner with family, or an evening out with friends.

Both of us got combo platters with, between us, had a variation of wings, ribs, pulled pork, cole slaw, mashed potatoes and fries. I am guessing this restaurant is trying to make things "their own" by going an non-traditional route with some things and I'm usually fine with that - if I know it in advance. Cole slaw, while it had good flavor, was very heavy on the mayo and contained very large pieces of onion which is not common. I know far too many that don't like onions and this would have been an unpleasant surprise. The mashed had a good flavor as well (but woah, a TINY side that was the same portion as the cole slaw) but it had a spice to it in there - no clue what it was but, again, would have been a huge no to folks like my mother, my kids, etc. Onto the meats. They were OK but so dry if you don't opt to add in some of the sauces. The sauce offerings seemed a little different to us so we went with the "Classic BBQ" and frankly, we both hated it. It seems to have a "Hunts tomato sauce" base. That's exactly what it tasted like. Hunts tomato sauce. I wish I knew it was a tomato sauce base (or tasted like it) because it's very thin and heavy on the tomato flavor. Since we didn't like the sauce, our meats were SO dry b/c they had no sauce on them. Anywho - someone next to us ordered a sirloin, I believe, it looked great. Maybe we just went for the wrong thing. But I could not get that BBQ taste out of my mouth all night. Two 2 meat combos (with $1 upcharge for ribs), one appetizer (queso), a diet soda and 2 Bud Lights ($10 ea!) came to just over $90 before gratuity. We came here while crushing some time while our older son was at an activity and we have to repeat this in a couple of weeks. We will not be back here... we'll have to find another place to spend some time and have dinner. Again, service was TOP NOTCH - no complaints about service. But the food left a lot to be desired. We had higher expectations for sure.

Added fresh jalapeños. And for dipping it was a ranch-styled sauce. So SO good ! I had a local, canned beer to drink. Service was good and it gave off a local/community vibe since the bartenders seemed to know who the regulars are. I will definitely be back! I typically don't drink cocktails at this sort of establishment, but the White Russian 2.0 has perked my interest. If the food is that great and it's only $13 for a cocktail... I'll be back to give it a try.
