Our bill for a Chicago dog, a pastrami sandwich and a Cuban sandwich with one order of fries and 3 drinks came to over $50 which is stupid pricey IMHO. There were at least 5 people working behind the counter and our order came out fairly fast. I felt the sandwiches were very skimpy on the meat and nothing came with a side included. The Cuban sandwich was underwhelming and not much flavor. If you want a wonderful deli sandwich go to The Bagel Deli off Hampden and I-25. The absolute best in my opinion.

The prime rib was for my birthday dinner so my husband left his phone number with them. He received a call later that day asking if the prime rib should be fresh or frozen. They wanted to make sure it did not get frozen if it was being used right away. He advised fresh and commented at what good customer service it was to make the distinction. We went together for pick up. The person who helped us when through the entire smoker bundle to show us the contents and then got the rib roast. Everything was well packaged and arranged. Even though it was the Friday before a religious holiday, and many folks were picking things up, it did not take long for us to get our order, pay and be on our way. The meats we have received both on this order and in the past have always been high quality. Edwards is an excellent butcher shop.

In my mind I was making a "healthy choice" but in reality I felt like I was about to eat a loaf of bread. I thought it seemed silly to pay only $2 less for a half a sandwich so I ordered the whole but then shamefully threw away most of the bread and ate only the innards which were also pretty boring. Even though I'm trying to keep my carb intake in check--I'm fully capable of for example enjoying a whole loaf of challah in one sitting if inspired but this wheat loaf did not inspire those kind of urges. As for the rest of the sandwich, it could have really used more curry aioli or something because I don't think I tasted that at all. If was ever forced to eat this same sandwich again I might ask for a side of vinaigrette, giardiniera, avocado. Something. The people were right: this was a dry sandwich. The reason I was even in Golden is because I wanted to test the feasibility of taking the W line to the Golden government center that is 2 miles from downtown and then riding my bike to have a picnic by Clear Creek. Turns out that yes, this is great with the understanding that the bike ride back to the light rail is way more intense when heading back to Denver. All uphill on my single speed! Without the Aspen Buddha, since it was 95 degrees or so I might have died had I not eaten/rehydrated. I am thankful for that. Eventually one let us know it was going to be a few more minutes before they could take our order, to which I didn't mind - I recognize it takes time to make sandwiches. We waited for a bit (probably ~10 minutes), and then decided to place an order with them online and continue walking around while we waited. It took about 15 minutes for our order to be ready, so maybe this is the best way to go about ordering so you're not just standing around. To clarify, I didn't mind waiting but it also made sense to place the order and then walk around while waiting. I ordered the North of I70 Italian sandwich, and indicated that I wanted mayo, mustard and oil + vinegar. My wife ordered the sweet baby turkey, and also asked for mayo and salt + pepper. Neither of our sandwiches had any condiments on them (pic included). Each sandwich cost $20, and while I realize that the price of good deli meat has gone up, it was definitely a bummer to not have exactly what we ordered on a sandwich that costs so much - $40+ for 2 standard size sandwiches. The other thing to note is that the mushrooms are not fresh - also included a pic of the mushrooms which I assume come from a can/jar. Had I known the mushrooms were not fresh, I would not have ordered them. I was really rooting for this place to be good, but was overall disappointed in the experience and outcome of our order.

It is definitely a little pricey- $25/person for a sandwich, chips and a beer/seltzer- but the sandwiches are good and are big enough that it left me stuffed so it's a decent value.

Although we were happy with our food and the sandwiches we got, we weren't a fan of the ordering process. Some sandwiches come with stuff on it already while others you have to build yourself. And while the customization can be nice, it can get pricy adding each little thing. I'd prefer if they had the menu split into the recommended sandwich items and the BYO.

Overall, you get a lot of stuff in your bagel (it's a mighty sandwich that will keep you full). The location is really cute. I love the pink and the blues.
