The DJ was awesome and people were dancing like crazy. It didn't take too long to get drinks and when we did they were affordable and served with a smile. We had an unforgettable time. I've heard in other nights it can be more low key. The bar itself is gorgeous, historical and large enough to spread out or find a quiet corner.

BlackBerry bourbon smashes didn't taste like there was any bourbon in them. 3 people ordered meals with fries, we'd asked for ketchup when she delivered the food and the waitress said she'd bring some. It never arrived. Our meals were fine otherwise. She never asked if we wanted to split the bill and just drops the check. I've been here several times before with good service, food, and excellent cocktails. We won't be heading back anytime soon. They were a 3-4 star restaurant before and have always had a nice ambiance.

And you can bring it here to munch out while savoring the many beers on draft. And since it's not a restaurants, Fido is welcome. The owner was the attendant on that day and he was quite affable and also knew his beers like the back of his hand. I tried a "Mas Verde" IPA and it was absolutely delicious. Overall a superb time with wonderful people and great beer and superb food from across the street.... The only warning about the area is the parking situation. As the area (which used to be a blighted warehouse and industrial area) has become gentrified and dotted with apartments, the nearby Northern Stage Theatre, and numerous restaurants, parking has become an issue and customers should either arrive early or realize they may have to park several blocks away. But that only shows just how popular this area has become and part of it is River Roost's doing. Great place!!!!!

What used to be a strong, popular but dated physical facility was transformed into a modern, efficient, welcoming and even elegant venue serving both skiers/riders and the general public. We came over to ski Tenney Mountain during one of the coldest days of the year. Below zero weather, wind, but the snow was pure fluff. And despite the slow lifts, the skiing was superb. Still, six runs in that temperature with a stiff wind took the energy out of me. That's when the Backcountry Bar and Grill came through with a superb Irish Coffee that allowed me to be back after thawing out, with new energy and desire to ski. We then came over here for an early Apre Ski. Five people had superb brews, superb Ultimate Grilled Cheese, awesome Chicken Sandwich. And a Backcountry Pulled Pork with an Apple bourbon barbecue sauce that had me licking my fingers. The bartender was the best I've seen in New England. We will be back because Tenney is one awesome ski mountain and because this wonderful venue makes it complete for customer experience.
