SOS and baked beans

Breakfast was good. Group of 7, we showed up after the rush. Initially, the hostess crowded us onto a table for 6 but the waitress quickly moved us to an 8 top, especially good since the rush had ended. To follow up, the staff is incredibly friendly. They remember their repeat customers and make you welcome. All of our food was good but my meal came out 5 minutes after everyone else.

California Benedict and the two for two. Food was luke warm at best...

Went on a whim was waiting for a prescription to go through at the CVS down the street. Service was sexist. Waitress asked what we wanted for drinks, my bf replied with coffee and then left not even giving me the chance to place my order of a water... We received our coffee and it was beyond burnt. Coffee is a staple at any diner, how they get away with burnt coffee is beyond me. Once we received our food she did NOT check back in with us to ask how everything was. My Benedict was cold. Eggs were cooked perfectly and was the only warm thing on my plate. The hollandaise sauce and hashbrowns needed to be warmed up. The hashbrowns had a red/orange tint but no flavor to them. As for the two for two my bf got the pancakes and they served him syrup in a prepackaged serving, like you would get at a school or hospital. Serving pancakes and french toast, syrup is a product New Englanders take pride in, prepackaged corn syrup is a disappointment.

After doing some fieldwork nearby, I popped into the DW Diner for some breakfast. The DW Diner is located in a strip plaza facing the road and serves breakfast (all day) and lunch including daily specials seven days a week. There's lunch counter seating and table seating inside this cozy hometown eatery. One of my buddies has breakfast here all the time and I bumped into him at the lunch counter already having his breakfast. He let the cat out of the bag and told the staff: "This guy does reviews." The staff of course was very friendly and treated me like gold on my visit. This is the kind of place where everyone knows each other. I started out with a bottomless cup of New England Coffee ($1.35), which is pretty good. I had the special Bacon Cheddar Burger Omelet ($6.99) which included homefries and toast. The good sized Omelet was thinly folded with small pieces of bacon, hamburger, and shredded cheddar inside, which tasted pretty good. The seasoned homefries were great and the wheat toast was buttered. The service here was outstanding, with constant refills on coffee and the eating surface cleared of used dishes, creamers, and sugar often. I must have had four cups of coffee in one sitting because I was good to go for the day!!

Gluten free pancakes, toast, cheese omelette and homefries!

Very good breakfast. We love to get takeout especially on the weekends when there is a long wait.

Local diner with good breakfast. Friendly and fast service. We were there on a weekday and the only 'non locals'. Exactly what we expected.

** Patty Melt review **…read more Roadside eatery in a tiny strip plaza. Outside, it looks nothing like the classic New England train car style or New Jersey stainless steel style diners, but inside are countertop with stools, booths around the outskirts, and the hustle and bustle giving it a strong diner vibe. Like my visits to many diners, I was here on my patty melt quest. -- Patty Melt: First, the composition is faithful to the prototype, with a quarter pound patty (no smashburger nonsense), rye bread (no sourdough decoy), buttered (not merely toasted), and with the classic Swiss cheese, sautéed onions and thousand Island dressing. No fusion, no reinvention, no omissions, no hipster jive. Good crispness and butteriness on the bread, great melt on the cheese, and noticeable softness to the onions. Most importantly, the beef could be ordered medium rare, and they executed. More softness, with gushing juices and a really pleasing bite. I suspect nothing special to start with, but they cooked it to near perfection. Only quibble would be not much crust to the patty, but not as critical on a patty melt. -- Fries: I could have had tots or a few other options, but fries were fine. Almost certainly frozen, but the skin-on variety and not the dreaded coated kind. Nothing special, but good enough. Service was adequate. It seemed like everyone was prepping to get everything gathered and cleaned for closing about 90 minutes earlier than necessary, but that didn't detract. If anything, it shows initiative and hustle. Not much data to go on, but an easy 4 for me.

The service is always amazing and the food is always on point and it never disappoints. The ambiance is like a typical diner with booths, no loud music so you can talk to your party. Let's get down to the food. Cinnamon Bun Pancakes- this is my go to because I love it! It's not overly sweet which I love and it reminds me on a cinnamon bun. I always get one lol Country Benedict- this is what I order every time I come here as my main dish. You get buttermilk biscuits instead of English muffins with sausage patties on top and the lovely gravy. The gravy is soo good. CHOCOLATECHIP pancakes- my daughter go to since she loves chocolate lol. Which 5 year old doesn't right? She always gets this and it's really good. So if you're in Hudson be sure to come here, you won't be disappointed.

Our waiter, Nate, was spot on with menu knowledge, table side manner and timing, overall highly professional. We had specific requests (baked fish tacos, not fried) and everyone's food was cooked perfectly and delicious. I definitely would come again and highly recommend the Homestead.

I am also a person who thinks half of the experience is the service and I was slightly disappointed at the beginning of our meal but by the end things definitely improved. I was not thrilled that we were not offered bread when the tables next to us were. I was also not impressed that our waiter forgot to bring our salads between the appetizers and main. That being said when it randomly started to rain we were instantly offered to move inside and offered new drinks. I do think we will continue enjoying the Homestead but if I'm paying 300$ for three people I do expect slightly better preparation of food.
