Just had breakfast there on a day off. ordered hash and eggs with wheat toast. $ 12 and change plus tip. The toast was good, 2 eggs over easy good but the hash was just okay... a spatula size serving, very thin, and seemed like it was out of a can. had a crust but no texture to actual hash and very little flavor. I was disappointed that for the price of this breakfast I thought it would be better than okay. couldn't believe they charged $3.98 for a small orange juice. oh well. the diner world is changing. read more

I happened to be up in Merrimack yesterday and stopped in to have breakfast with a friend. We were sat right away. The restaurant was clean and has had a few renovations. The food was delicious. Everything was fresh and came out hot. I got the veggie omelet which was huge! The waitstaff were very friendly and we got to meet the new owner who recently bought it. Very nice guy who made a great impression. The lunch specials sounded delicious and very, very reasonable. Definitely wanted to give the place a shout out. Try it out. I keep wanting to like the DW Diner, but honestly there's little to like. I've gone back several times, both alone and with companions, but the results are always the same. Waitstaff is friendly, but far from attentive. It always takes a LONG time for them to come back to refill coffee cups or drinks (15 mins just this morning and we were seated right next to the counter in a booth). Even when the restaurant isn't all that busy wait times for food can be long - today was no exception. The food quality isn't great. It's commercial/institutional food service quality at its best: Eggs were tasteless - truly! I'm not asking for a free-range, organic, laid by the owner's pet chickens but really?? The "hash browns" were cooked so much that they were crunch pretty much 85% through. SOME potato texture and flavor would have been nice. The link sausage was also boring and bland. It might have been nice to have some simple garnish on the plate but everything was just plunked down like it was on a cafeteria line. The pancakes were equally disappointing: served with a plastic "take-out" covered cup of what appears and tasted like a butter "blend" (butter and marg perhaps?), clearly whipped. The killer? a foil topped blister pack of syrup. No bottle or pourer - what a total turn off (yes you can order REAL NH syrup for an additional price). It seems that if you can order it off a truck, that's what they want and get. the bread was also nothing to even notice. Boring, commercial bakery/grade "whole wheat" (wonder bread with a tan). All of this served luke warm (the norm it seems), no effort to serve a nice presentation (you eat with your eyes first, they say...but not an orange slice or piece of parsley or dusting of powdered sugar on the pancakes.) and the prices are much higher that you'd expect for both the lackluster service and the mediocre food. I've had omelets there before, as well as other specials - all uninspired and bland/institutional. The ONLY reason that I can fathom that the place is so busy is that there really isn't much in the way of competition locally. Regrettably, you'll do JUST as well and often better, at either of the the national chains in either Nashua or Bedford and you'll spend less too, with better/faster service. It just seems like they just don't care and can't be bothered to do so. For REAL breakfast food, homemade, and prepared with pride and care, go to Milford (just down 101/101A) for FAR better options - WELL worth the drive. read more

This place deserves 0 stars. The food is gross and everything is canned. Not one thing seems to be homemade there. I came in with my boyfriend. he ordered the Irish omlet.The cornbeef hash was canned and very dry. The Omlet was overcooked and overall tasteless. I orderd the veggie omlet. That was disgusting too!! The veggie's were not even grilled or heated up before just being thrown into the omlet. It took forever for us to get more coffee because our waitress who was older with a baseball hat was busy yelling at other waitresses to take care of her customers. It is extremely unprofessional to yell at employees in front of customers. Overall the only thing that I did like was the coffee once I finally got more. read more

12/13/14- We went there on a Saturday for lunch only to learn they only serve breakfast on Saturday's and Sunday's. We then ordered breakfast food. I ordered the International Italian Omelet. The peppers, onions, spinach and sausage were all cold and were not sauteed before putting them in with the eggs. My homefrys were all burnt. My wife ordered a BLT sandwich which they said they could make, but it only had 2 slices of bacon. For a breakfast restaurant you would think they would load it with bacon. My daughter ordered a egg and bacon sandwich on a bagel. There was only one slice of bacon and her bagel was barely toasted. Her home fries were burnt also. I would never recommend this place unless I knew the cook that was working was no longer there. read more

Normally I would never write a post about anything. Being a business owner this particularly bothered me this morning. We called in a pickup order. When I went in to pick it up the total was $12.50, I gave the server a $20 bill and only got $7 in change. I had to ask for the rest of my change. It's not the amount it's the principle. When asking the manager they told me that was their normal practice was to round up or down for your change. They don't even have cash registers I was told they work out of pocket. Unfortunately food is decent but this is the second time it happened to us. I didn't really think anything of it the first time but having it happen a second time it is just wrong. It is not their money to decide if i want my change back or not. read more

Passing through town, stopped for breakfast. Food was good, our waitress was pleasant, but the hostess who seated us was very rude. When we arrived, the place was full so we gave our name (we were 2) at the desk and were told to wait. We were offered a stand-alone table, but we said we preferred to wait for a booth. Other people arrived after us and gave their names to the hostess, and they were seated at a booth within minutes. After 20 minutes, another group of 4 arrived, gave their name, and the hostess started to bring them to their booth. I looked at the waiting list sheet on the desk, and saw the hostess was totally disregarding our name. I mentioned this, and she claimed she didn't know why that happened. As she walked us to the table, I said it was a good thing I checked the list, or we would have been waiting quite a while. The hostess replied, "POOR BABY!" I bit my tongue and did not reply. But it is a shame that her remark totally spoiled my experience, and ruined my perception of this restaurant. At total opposites, we also stopped at the Toscano Café/Bistro in Richmond VT. If you want the total VIP experience, great food and being welcomed as if they are really glad to see you, this is the place! read more

Been here a few times since moving to Merrimack. Food is decent and the the servers have been great. However my girlfriend and I just came on busy Sunday and we're out on the list to wait. The hostess continued to seat two other parties of 3 that came in after us while saying nothing and leaving us to wait. We left shortly after after feeling this was really rude. I Went there for breakfast this weekend for the first time and really enjoyed it. There was a wait but the staff made sure to clear tables in a timely fashion so the wait wasn't that long. I ordered coffee and the strawberry cheesecake crepes that were on special. They were excellent. We were asked to fill out a comment card for our server because it was her first week but you would never know it. She was very attentive, friendly, and seem to love her job. I had the most amazing breakfast here. The eggs benedict were perfect as were the potatoes. The wait staff is awesome and very friendly. The wife had the pancakes which I tasted, they were just as good as my eggs. I could sit here all day and eat. The only drawback is the wait. Just thought that I would let everyone know, especially in what is being called a recession, or hard times for many, that this particular diner is "milking" some of the general public. This review is difficult to write, as my husband and I have been frequest diners up until our lunch an hour or so ago. We ordered two chicken salad sandwiches, one on wheat bread not toasted and the other on sourdough toasted. We also ordered a side of fries, as the sandwiches came with chips according to the menu on line. When my husband picked up the order, he wondered what I had ordered - the bill was $18.17 for the above, and nothing else!!!!!! Our receipt said Chix salad pocket, which we didn't get a chix salad pocket that was supposed to have lettuce, tomato and also come with a fruit cup. That is not what was on the menu on line, as it stated $4.99 for a classic sandwich with chips. My calculation would be somewhere in the vicinity of around $13.80. This is a far cry from $18.00 plus. How can a DINER, not a gourmet sandwich shop, or restaurant with ambiance, charge the general public this much??? I called the diner and discussed this with a waitress and then she gave me the manager/owner (Peter) and he couldn't deal with the call, and passed it off onto another waitress, who felt badly but there was nothing she could do. I came here because I saw most of the reviews were good and happened to be in Merrimack, when I went in there were empty tables but it took almost 5min for a waitress to come seat us, the food wasn't bad but when I got my receipt I was surprised I ordered my bacon well done and they charged me 60 cents for it, not that 60 cents is a lot but I have never heard of being charged for that, that 60 cents will cause me to never go back read more

Came for breakfast on a Friday. Quite the diner atmosphere, with the waitresses calling the customers by name and knowing their order. Counter service was pretty quick. My French toast was just standard; nothing I couldn't cook in my own kitchen, but still good. OJ was kind of pricey, but then I suppose it always is in NH. read more

I grew up in Merrimack and I've seen multiple things in DW Diners location. This is by far the best place I've seen in there. The staff is the nicest staff in the Merrimack area. They take the time to get to know you on a personal level especially after eating there almost every weekend!) The only downfall I can think of is that they are always so busy! But I guess thats a good thing! Being busy means my favorite breakfast restaurant won't leave us anytime soon! They give really good portion sizes as well and they are not at all pricey! read more
