This restaurant is missed so much in SW Michigan, but it is worth the hour drive to get a taste! The hot turkey is my go to dish for breakfast or lunch! Our server was well versed on the menu - offering side dish options and checking on milk substitutions. They have your average "bacon and eggs" or slightly more elevated dishes like their Huevos Rancheros. Their poblano sauce is more like a salsa than a sauce snd IT'S DIVINE! This was my first time trying this place and I was a little bit disappointed. I have to say first of all that the restaurant itself is adorable. Fun, clean vibe but I did feel a little cramped in the seating. The service is also fabulous. I tried a Mezcal Bloody Mary and I've never had anything like it before so I was open to it, personally I wasn't a fan. My waitress did give me the option to do it with vodka though so it was cool that she asked. For food I got both the breakfast poutine and shrimp and grits. The poutine sounded great cuz it has so much I love: crawfish, andouille, egg, and cheese curds. It was underwhelming though. The seasoning was more of a spiciness that was more of a mouth feel rather than a flavor, making the dish a little dull. On the other hand, The shrimp and grits were GREAT. Always Goes Well! This is the go to breakfast spot every time my brother is in town. We have eaten here at least 4 or 5 times together and I've eaten here a few times with other friends. My little family's favorite breakfast spot. We actually live outside of Chicago and stumbled into this place on a drive east and now we make the 1.5 hour trip every couple of months just for breakfast. Everything we've had is great. Some standouts are the home fries/potatoes (loaded or regular) and the eggs Benedict. It gets super loud in there due to the acoustics but that just means nobody can hear my 3 year old when he gets wound up. Not a place for intimate conversation but def a place for great food. We were seated at a round table top for our party of four. The tables are very small; even though there were four chairs seated at the table it was really only enough room for typical two person dining. There are not a lot of menu items to choose from, however, their focus is on quality, homemade ingredients and good execution. They have a few lunch items and both the breakfast and lunch items are available any time. I had the corned beef hash, it was definitely a full & hearty platter with chunks of potato sautéed with a little bit of onion and green pepper (would've like more of this) and prime chunks of corned beef. Two eggs, served any style, crown the dish. Their toast was two small slices of fresh sourdough from a baguette served with homemade apricot vanilla marmalade which was excellent. Overall, I thought the place was a three star. For me, the cons were that the interior of the restaurant was a bit stark and not the comfortable atmosphere I prefer, the tables were crazy small, and the prices too high (over $100 for a party of four Inc t+t).
