Fries were seasoned well. The food came out quickly but wasn't hot, lukewarm at best. Apparently the buffalo wings are super spicy and they don't offer a choice or hot or mild so FYI just ordering buffalo means spicy. At the Edge, you pay extra buck for your meal just because you do not have to drive down the mountain to eat and lose time on your lift. It make sense, absolutely. They let you eat two hundred feet outside the snow slopes. The place is big enough but it gets really busy on weekends 11.30-2.00 PM, since everyone skiing/snowboarding stops for lunch, so better be ready for a 15-20-min wait unless you want to seat at the bar. My husband and I went to the edge yesterday for dinner. I ordered a Reuben sandwich it was delicious with fries. The bread was a little smaller than when I came last year. Also we ordered Buffalo wings it was tasty and delicious. My husband ordered a burger with fries he said he enjoyed it. Great choices we were pleased. It's one of the three places to eat at the main area of the Wintergreen Resort. Usual American pub fare. Prices have a premium due to this being a ski resort restaurant, but it's not too bad. When I was there, they were very busy but food came out reasonably quick. Had the Edge burger and it tasted okay. Nothing special but not terrible either. After a day on the slopes my friends and I decided to come here for a bite to eat. We ordered the cheese steak, bahnmi, chicken club sandwich, and chicken club wrap. Food was not bad but unmemorable.. the pickles that came with each of our meals tasted strange (somewhat fishy??) However, the reason for this 1 star review is for the service. Our server was extremely rude and negligent of our table. After we ordered our food, she did not come once to check on us. All of our beverages were down to just ice. We even tried looking around for her to ask for refills but she was no where to be seen (this was for a good 20 minutes so we tried to be patient). Its hard to give a place a 2 but really...nothing really gives it that 3 stars...and usually you have to be pretty bad for me to give you a 2 but really the only thing that was amazing about this place was the seasoned french fries. I think if we weren't on such a time crunch to make our ski lesson then we probably could have enjoyed it a bit more. However our food took way to long to come out. We ordered the Wings...Fireball Whisky flavored...which came out pretty quickly it was okay nothing to exciting the sauce was more like a sweet bbq sauce...no part of it tasted like fireball at all. The wings were soaked in sauce so there wasn't very much crunch to them. So they were just okay. The ranch did taste pretty fresh...so i'm guessing its made in house. After the wings though it probably took another 15-20 mins for our sandwiches that we ordered to come out I ordered the honey mustard chicken wrap,my friend ordered the BBQ sandwich and another ordered some other type of sandwich. A Chicken wrap ordinary I know but I need something that wouldn't make me to full so that i was still able to ski. It was okay typical flour tortilla wrap with mixed greens and chicken. No textural difference just over soaked mixed greens soggy and no textural difference. I was just too hungry and in a rush to eat that nothing wowed me. The fries though were crispy and freshly fried...slighly over seasoned? Is that possible it was a bit saltier then I would've liked but none the less they were golden and delicious fries. The other girls sandwiches looked just as sorry as my wrap did they chose not to eat the bread just cause they thought they would be overly full before skiing. But i wouldn't have blamed them their buns didn't exactly look or taste that amazing otherwise they wouldn't have left it behind. **Warning** This place is deceiving. The menu sounds great but the actual food is horrible. I really wanted this place to be good, but it was disappointing. Let me say I eat almost anything on my plate, except anything vegan. So let me continue with my review. We ordered something simple as shrimp cocktail and it was a complete disaster. The shrimp was semi cold and out was served worth some horrible shrimp cocktail that was brown. It was served with chips and what appeared to be guacamole from a tube. I asked our waitress what size the shrimp were and she replied "The right size" she clearly didn't know the menu after asking her a few questions. We got our shrimp, tried it, then just gave it back and cancelled or wings. If something as simple as shrimp cannot be made correctly, i would hate to see the wings. The manager came over and apologized but I would rather have decent food than a sorry. I gave it a two stars because of the view but other than that, I will never come here again. read more

I'm a sucky skiier. I don't know why I thought that after 15 years, I would excel at it. My beau had high hopes. You see, he is a ski master. Dude's got his own skis, boots, and all the gear that comes with it. I was so excited to blow him away when he put up the dough to buy me some new ski clothes. I seriously let him down. I spent an hour and a half on the slopes. Well, my ass did. The best skiing I did was exiting the lift. Thank goodness for The Edge, the sweet bartender and the awesome local brews on tap. Since I had to spend a couple of hours waiting for master ski man to come off the mountain, I figured a good beer would help me pass the time. The booth seating was pretty tight - too tight for larger folks - but it's really difficult to believe ppl coming in off the slopes decked out in ski equipment would fit. Maybe they squeeze in an extra booth for off-season? For a the price of our meal after tax & tip, I would have expected the two of us would have had a nice steak dinner with all the fixings, dessert, and at least one alcoholic beverage each. Instead, the wife had chicken parm over spaghetti with mediocre marinara and I had 8 chicken wings and sweet potato waffle fries. The BBQ dry rub wings were very good - no complaints. The waffle fries were warm to start and cooled fast. We both drank iced tea and I also had one martini (way too much vermouth for being extra dry). read more

Best mountain food I've ever had. On a packed Saturday, our online food order came out quick and drinks were on point! The reason I only gave 2 stars is because of the horrible interaction my group and I had with the manager Jason It was very clear he was stressed, under pressure and taking it out on everyone around him. While standing outside in line for over an hour in the cold, and snow, If you can't perform well under pressure then the service industry isn't for you. We understand that with the ongoing global pandemic there are specific statutory regulations and policies that must be adhered to, however the lack of professionalism and hospitality by the lead employee was unsatisfactory and disappointing. Came here for a 3day seminar. This is vital, given the fact that our meals are paid for via meal vouchers good for only the Edge. We are here on the off season, so perhaps this played a role in the fact that the food was positively depressing. Free and unbearable to eat. I had enough vouchers for three meals and I am refusing to utilize my remaining voucher. First meals entailed chili dogs, steak and chicken strips.The chili dogs were potentially the only appetizing meal throughout my stay. The chili was cold, BUT had flavour, which made up for it's ill temperature. Yes, my standards were set low. The steak was potentially made in the microwave. Potentially... Moving on, the restaurant only serves chicken strips for the kids meal. Which is odd because it comes with rice and green beans. After much haggling, I received the strips and they were dry and I'm certain the green beans came from a can because it was PURE salt. Perhaps it's only for kids because they'd be down to eat all. Second came a chicken club and a burger. Both bland. Very much so on par with lunch line food, perhaps from a hospital or school. Additionally, the Caeser side salad was very salty. I guess the issue stems from the pricing. I feel awful for the folks who paid for our meals... 20+ for a chewy bland steak is concerning. Anywho, Good luck with your choice! read more

After eating at their cafeteria and choking down a burnt to the crisp burger with soggy vegetables, I thought maybe it'll be worth paying more and eating here, wrong! My daughter ordered the burger this time and it was black and dry completely through. She stopped half way through with a grimace of disgust. I thought I'd eat "healthier" and have the vegan burger. I got so sick the next day I felt like I was going to die. It tasted good, but that is because they must have slathered the thing in monosodium glutamate, autolyzed yeast extract and hydrolyzed protein. Basically they lied about it being natural and scratch made. Pack a lunch if you care about your body when you go skiing is the lesson. You'd think paying a premium would get you something worth ingesting. Sadly the internet connection is so poor their you may not be able to read this before you poison yourself. And don't bother asking about nutrition or allergy info from the staff because English is likely there 2nd language - they were nice however. read more

This place had all the interest of an Applebee's. Aside from the view- which is nice- there's really nothing to write home about here. It was absolutely jam packed full of families trying to fill up on mediocre food after a day skiing. If you aren't travelling with a full compliment of little ones in tow the atmosphere can be a bit grating. Unfortunately there isn't really an alternative for those of us that just want some suds and tunes with our apres ski, so there's a bizarre dynamic between those of us with pint glasses but without kids and those putting baby seats on bar stools simply because there aren't any tables left. Perhaps I've been spoiled by the larger resorts I've been too, but I tend to expect a bit more from a slope side hot spot. The food is 'meh'. It's basically the same casual American menu as featured in every terrible strip mall chain. It was edible, but definitely geared toward the lowest common denominator. The craft beer selection was actually quite good, and featured several of the local breweries. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable and she offered us free tastes of the local beers before making us commit to a pint. The room itself is definitely set up to achieve maximum floor space, but makes it feel a bit cavernous and somewhat cafeteria-like. Add in all the standard skiing tchotchkes on the walls and the end result is something like a Nordic Joe's Crab Shack. Would I go back? Maybe. But I've got my eye elsewhere for next year's ski trip, hopefully a place with more of a watering hole and less of a family free-for-all. read more

We were pleased with both the service and the food here. I had an iceberg salad and a cup of gumbo, both delicious. My daughter had the shrimp po'boy, also good--loaded with large, spicy shrimp. My grandson had a big plate of ziti and a Shirley Temple! Our server was excellent! I did not catch her name, but she had a lovely accent. We came in for lunch and the place was packed to the gills. We had a 40 minuet wait and they gave us one of those hand light buzzer that light up when it was our turn to be seated. We were not able to get a window table, which is understandable. The waiter was from Jamaica. He was nice and cool. We ordered the nachos and they were really good, hot, fresh and packed high with freshly made chips, not stale like some places. I also had the regular cheeseburger and it was very juicy and cooked perfect. In the corner by the entrance the is a small stage were I guess they must have bands play at night. We arrived at Wintergreen on a Monday afternoon, tired and hungry after a long drive. We chose the Edge because it was a few steps from our rental unit. We were greeted and seated quickly as the place was empty. The smell when you walk in is pretty overwhelming. Wet carpet from all the ski boots, smelled like dirty feet. Not appetizing, but we figured aside from tearing out the carpet, it's probably unavoidable. Our waiter greeted us and brought our drinks fairly quickly. There was one other family in the restaurant and one guy at the bar. We had to wait to give our order, and once we did the wait seemed like forever before our food arrived. There were 3 or 4 employees loitering near the kitchen door, which was a little off putting considering we were waiting forever. When the food finally arrived it was slightly warm. We got a cheese pizza and fruit for my son, pizza was slightly undercooked as most of the cheese was barely melted and cold. My husband and I split a Blue Ridge Burger. The burger was small (more like a $4 burger and not a $14 burger). The bun was stale, and the burger was not hot. Very underwhelming meal, but we spent $50 for a burger, kids pizza and 3 waters. Service was friendly but very slow. The views are amazing, the food not so much. Save your money. read more

Lunch service over the weekend was horrible and I know they were packed but it should never take 2 hours to be seated, eat, and get the check when you're skiing on a 8 hour ski pass. The restaurant has a really nice interior. My friends ordered a variety of dishes and we noticed the same thing in common. The food was not that great because lack of seasoning or over seasoning. One of my friends ordered chicken wings with a side of BBQ sauce. The sauce tasted disgusting because you could tell that they put too much of the Jack Daniels whiskey. It literally tasted like alcohol. The food is decently priced but the alcohol is so expensive! But for a resort it's decently priced. The fried chicken and waffles were not that great, pretty bland. Nevertheless, we really enjoyed the hot chocolate because it warmed our cold stomachs from a day on the slopes. It's only $2! read more

This place was okay. The wait staff was very friendly. Yes, they are multi-cultural...why would that make the restaurant bad? I liked the team style service. I always had what I needed. $8 for a glass of Riesling is not bad where I'm from they cost $11 in a restaurant so for us the prices were decent. We had the calamari, it did not have any seasoning. Hubby had the tilapia. He said it was okay. I saw him shaking lots of salt and pepper tho. I had the wedge salad with steak. The steak had no seasoning, but it was with blue cheese and bacon...can't go wrong with that! Live music is cool, not my choice of genre but entertaining enough. TVs at the bar. This is a great place for a burger but they have trouble with the only two choices they give you for burger temp. They say pink and no pink but pink comes out VERY rare. Basically raw. The Edge is just okay. Quite overpriced, but I get that you're paying for convenience at the resort. Their menu has a decent selection (lots of vegan options) but it's pretty overpriced. They had a bbq pork platter that sounded pretty good, but I couldn't bring myself to pay almost $20 for something so basic. I ended up ordering the falafel wrap, which was decent. I would've liked a little more falafel and a little less carrot in the wrap, but it was still pretty good overall. Everyone else at my table ordered burgers and were happy enough with their food. Amongst his pile of french fries, my friend found one totally raw, ice cold, French fry on his plate. That was a little weird... not sure how one raw cold fry made it the the plate? The service was okay. She didn't go out of her way to see how we were doing, but she did keep our drinks full. My general reaction to the place is just meh. Nothing great, but nothing horrible. After an evening of skiing/snowboarding, we wanted to grab a quick bite to eat before turning in for the night. We visited The Edge and decided on Appetizers. My boyfriend ordered a cup of Chili which was served ice cold. I ordered the Mediterranean FlatBread Pizza (cost $11.00), thinking we could split it. The Pizza was no larger than 8" in length, 5" in width and did not look appealing. To the touch it was barely warm, the bottom was not toasted or browned in the slightest. It would be safe the say the Pizza had come from the frozen section of the grocery store. Overall we were not impressed with our meal and were saddened that Wintergreen Resort allows this at one of their dining establishments. No wonder the Breweries/Eateries off the Mountain are doing so well, it's where you must go if you want a decent meal. Too bad obtaining a decent meal at the Resort is out of the question. read more

This place is disgusting!! Don't waste your $$. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger and a falafel sandwich togo. When we got back to our rooms I noticed when I picked up the falafel sandwich it was so saturated with grease it was dripping from the sandwich it was not edible. I have been here multiple times now and each time the food was great. The most recent time I went I got the club sandwich it was very delicious. The staff is extremely friendly. This restaurant reminded me that Wintergreen resort has been struggling financially and I suspect the wear and tear showing inside is evidence of cutting corners. Everything seemed drab, needing a coat of paint or repair. We visited on a weekend during a festival yet few patrons ventured inside. And despite ample staff milling about the table service was slow for things like drink refills. Food was below restaurant standards with both the soup and the sandwich having unrecognizable content. Both were a purée of all ingredients as if this was a development kitchen for NASA and the food was going into or coming out of a large tube. Think Soylent. And pricey - a chicken salad sandwich should not cost $14. read more

This is one of the best restaurants I've been to. As a Vegan, I am often challenged finding food, and even less so good food in remote areas. The Edge did not disappoint. The breakfast menu did not offer vegan options other than fruit and home fries; so the manager offered their vegan BLT. The best ever - the "bacon" is made daily onsite. Ok, it's a resort... But really? We ordered drinks with one waiter, had them delivered by another and finally got to meet our waitress who was difficult to understand due to her Jamaican accent and sheepish tone after about 5 minutes and this place was nearly empty (4 tables seated). We ordered 4 soft drinks which we had to repeatedly ask for refills (she'd bring 1 persons refill when all 4 glasses were empty and we'd have to ask/prompt her to refill the others). We ordered the pretzel appetizer and it was decent. We got a quesadilla and 3 burgers and they were all fair and then dessert was a brownie sundae and 2 scoops of ice cream and our bill was $89! Again, it's in a resort, but that's ridiculous! If it was the best burger I ever ate, maybe... but not for what we got! I could have had a better meal at The Market! Unimpressive! read more
