First time visiting the Edison Experiment and it was very impressive. The drinks, band, and service was superb, definitely can start being my regular spot. I enjoy the fact the drinks can be customized to your taste. I told the bartender I would like the same drink my friend had but with less of the tart....and boom he made it sweeter, just like I like my drinks. Great Experience!!! read more

The drinks were very good (a little whiskey/bourbon heavy, wished there were more gin options). The bar tenders seemed very knowledgable and were willing to let us taste the liquors we asked about. They seemed very proud of their crafted cocktails and was very satisfied. My issue was the atmosphere. It just didn't seem "authentic". I would have justified spending the amount of money if the place had more historical pieces, or themed more appropriately to "Edison" theme. read more

My friends and I chose to go to this bar since we've never heard of it. It was nice and relaxing. LOVED THE LIVE BAND! AMAZING!!!!! (Kind of jazz and electric mixture) My drink that was straight off the menu was nasty! Didn't like it at allllll. In fact my friend's drink was nasty too. And it came in some hobbit mug cup. Great music and happy hour drinks and prices. I had 2 Three Day Weekends from the menu. I usually like fruity drinks and this drink was great. Great decor. I also appreciated the mixed nuts to snack on. The classic music playing overhead was great. We sat in a corner playing cards just waiting for the band to start. Bartender was very kind and friendly. While I really appreciate the vibe this place is going for, everyone I've been the music has been so loud, I feel like I'm at a nightclub.

As a former regular a couple times a month, I can tell you this lounge has changed for the worse. They really did it all with great mixologists, ambiance and live music. Now, the drinks are poor. The bartenders worse. The bar staff did not know how to make one of their menu cocktails. On 3 occasions they have not had a white wine. I think this is a really cool addition to San Antonio's "social scene". I love going to lounges because it's a different change of pace compared to a typical bar or loud club. When I went, on a Friday, we sat at a super comfortable couch and listened to a live Jazz band playing (which I wish was slightly less loud so I could still hear my friends talk) and they were amazing! If you are not a cocktail person they also offer beer and wine. I loved the ambience and staff... overall it was a great experience I plan to go back pretty frequently! read more

I've been here on Saturday nights only. Unique environment. If you're looking for something different and vintage go here. The setting is almost close to a speakeasy. The music gets loud though. Sometimes the music doesn't match the environment (rock, Latino). The drinks are based on historical figures. The bartenders put on a show while making your drink to add to your experience. The bartenders will discuss the drink and give legit recommendations if you sit at the bar. Overall great experience if you go before 10pm (unless you don't mind loud music that might not match the environment). read more

Went in on a Wednesday night and we were the only people there. The music was the bartenders personal choice lots of old school rap (which I like) but with terrible long intros of dudes yelling and cursing, def. not the radio edits, which would have been fine but it was SO loud we couldn't even have a conversation. The whole place felt like it hadn't been cleaned in months. The smell was that of an old Mr. Gattis pizza place. The bathroom had literal black mold growing in the toilet bowl so who knows how long it was since it was cleaned. The two stars are for the drinks which were good. I was very sad about this because I've been wanting to try this place for a while and suggested As group of coworkers go so you can imagine how embarrassing it was when we show up based on my recommendation and this is what we got. It was such an awkward vibe with the intense Hollywood glamour decor and the dirty/ smelling / sticky atmosphere. Also, for a place called the Edison experiment there was only one Edison lightbulb in the whole place. A true miss. Won't be back. read more

A bar with character! If you are looking for one of the best Old Fashions in town - try the Smoked Old Fashion. The bartenders actually 'smoke out the flavor' in the orange by slightly burning the rhine. The bartenders where very good, kind and fast. We've been 3xs so far and each time there's been a small band - can't go wrong with live music. Decor: There are small chandeliers everywhere and atmosphere is trendy with a causal feel. I love this place!! They have the most amazing spicy tequila shots ever! It's a little pricey but that's to be expected for craft cocktails and good liquor. Wicked cool! Great little dark, underground speakeasy boutique type bar. Incredible music selection including Adele and Michael Buble. Great drink selection, craft cocktails, Irish coffees (very fancy coffee machine behind the bar) too! Yum! Huge bottled beer selection too! They also serve red bull which I don't see often in bars (could be just me). We had great service even though the bar was busy. Small place, but very cozy with vintage couches to sit and relax throughout. Bathrooms were clean and smelled good! Always a bonus! Can't wait to go back! read more

It's has a nice atmosphere but the service is incredibly slow. It was like a bar from the past, but they played top 40's. It is fine for this part of town but I would not make a special trip care if I wasn't already in the area. I had a cucumber Martini and it was really good. read more

Maybe I had a poor bartender who didn't know what they were doing - but this bar served me the worst Old Fashion I can think of in recent memory. Moved on to a house infusion on the rocks after that, it wasn't too bad, if it weren't for the price. When I think of infusions, I think of a relatively affordable house drink that's both cheap to make and low labor, yet it cost the same as a decent made cocktail. Regardless, I'm stuck on the fact that they performed so poorly on this keystone of a bartender's skill... I love the Edison. I've been going for the last couple of months and it's been amazing! The decor is very 20 ' s style jazz lounge. The drinks are well made by the bartenders. My personal favorites are Cody and Keith. They're awesome and really know their drinks. I once asked for something based on n emotion I was feeling and Keith created a personalized drink based off of a feeling I wanted to evoke. . . needless to say I will be a patron as long as they stay open!!! read more

There was a 2- person group singing to recorded music that played a great variety of music although I expected jazz. I was there for a celebration that was of course pre-planned. The place was full and there were not enough bartenders to even get a decent drink. I had 2 marginal cosmos. (Maybe not one of their specialties).
