First time here, wow. Long lines outside surely tell the story of this restaurant and why it's the restaurant to go to! Nice ambience , cute vibrant decor. Staff greets you with smiles and compliments (what a way to jumpstart your weekend!). Came alone but don't feel lonely! Simone served, very friendly. Their menu reads like a book, lots of variety. Love that they have breakfast bowls and of course the healthy choices! I ordered the avocado toast but boy, it's not just your average avocado toast. They have the the avocado toast but loads of stuff on the toast like sprouts, carrots, tomatoes - really fresh. And the toasts come with hard boiled eggs ( yes two of them) on a bed of arugula ... should I say more? Definitely the place to go.. Oh and with me sitting at the bar I have a clear view of how the kitchen staff just churn out all these orders so quickly, no wonder no one minds the wait...! I've been to this location a couple times in the past and this is definitely my worst experience by far. The wait time was 20-25 minutes for a table for my wife and I which is understandable since it was Veterans Day. It took us almost an hour to get our food from the time we ordered. Our server only checked on us once at about the 25 minute mark to ask us about our drinks. We watched 3 different tables who were seated after us get their food before us. I ordered the Virginia Beach cheesesteak with garlic fries. When our food finally came out my cheesesteak was soggy at the bottom. The fries were barely warm and the lettuce on top of the steak was not fresh at all. It just seemed like my plate had been sitting there for a couple minutes. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures though as I was just focused on eating after waiting so long. I don't know what was going on since all of our past experiences here were extremely good. This Egg Bistro location is in Chesapeake and I met my family here while my dad was in town for breakfast last weekend. At 9:45 there was a short wait and people sitting inside but it wasn't too bad and we waited for about 10-15 minutes for a party of 5 to be sat. The menu is large and in-charge. Tons and tons of items to please pretty much everyone. Standard breakfast items and then some good savories like bowls, wraps, benedicts, pancakes, waffles, and much more. Our tables spanned the gamut in terms of choice but my dad chose the Dig In Breakfast bowl which was basically all the usual things you love, in a bowl, eggs, peppers, onions, sausage, a biscuit and potatoes. My cousin got the avocado toast and it was a huge portion in terms of size, with about 4 slices of toast with avocado and sprouts and an egg on the side. I chose the oatmeal breakfast which was a giant bowl of oatmeal with some mix-ins on the side (think cinnamon, bananas, brown sugar, honey) and a warm toasted sliced bagel with peanut butter. It was a giant bowl. No way I could've eaten it all. But very good. Our waitress was busy but very friendly, prompt, and capable. She took good care of us while she was very obviously busy as can be. Brought me black teas to choose from, creamer when asked, and checked on us just enough that we weren't left needing refills or anything else. Great experience. This is a good spot for breakfast with friends and family. Plenty of parking in the strip lot and easy to find with GPS. read more

Went here this morning with some girlfriends - it's a new favorite! They have a great drink menu, the mimosas are incredible. The avocado toast is served on sliced baguettes, and has yummy veggies piled on top. The Cinnamon Swirl French Toast is fabulous, it doesn't even need syrup! The Banana Nut Bread French Toast was out of this world!!! It is such a unique take on a classic breakfast staple but my favorite one yet. Amazing. You better come hungry because the portions are pretty big. They serve sides like hashbrowns, tater tots, bacon and eggs with the sweet stuff. I love coming here for Sunday brunch after the initial breakfast rush. I had discovered their outside seating which is nice and quiet and has a huge fan to have some air circulation in the area. Today it was steaming hot , however they do have shade coverings over the tables and that fan , so it made it a tiny bit more comfortable to sit. Our server was nice and attentive. We ordered the lychee mimosa, a flight mimosa , a Belgian waffle , and the Dave's chicken sandwich. The lychee mimosa was very refreshing and had a nice sweetness to it. I think it is now a staple of mine. The flight mimosa we were able to choose our own fruit juice and crushed fruit. We chose good variety and all of them were very good. The waffle was perfectly soft with a nice crisp to it. Now the chicken sandwich was VERY good, I got the mild sauce just to test and it was just enough heat to not be overwhelming. Last Tuesday, a girlfriend and I went here for brunch. There was no wait, but the restaurant was packed. That's always a good sign. We were sat by the window. Every once in a while, I would feel a drop of water on my shoulder. Later I realized it was because I was sitting under the air conditioner. Our server was nice and promptly took drink orders. We both ordered hot cappuccinos. She came back with two hot lattes w/ no foam (flat whites?) in a tall mug with straws in them. I was a little confused, but it was still good. I felt bad about the wasted straw though. My friend enjoyed her burrito light that came with a large bowl of oatmeal. I ordered the veggie lovers omelet with sourdough bread and hash browns. I like that you're able to customize your omelet and you get to choose what kind of bread and potatoes go with. It was great. I'll definitely come again. Another time visiting the Egg Bistro and I switched it up by going on a Friday. Right at lunch time and everything was just the same as the first time I went. Still busy and slightly loud, but without a doubt impeccable service. Fast, clean, attentive and for St Patrick's day, they ladies all were dressed up wearing green so it was a cool change to celebrate the holiday. My family and I went to The Egg Bistro for breakfast yesterday. We got there around 9, it was busy, so we got on the list. It didn't take long, we waited in our car for about 10-15 minutes. In case you are wondering- worth the wait!! We were recommended mimosa flight. 4 glasses for $10 My husband and I both got a flight. My favorite was the tropical. Little one had a Belgian waffle, which he devoured. (Honestly- I had a bite- it was delicious) Husband had "Bennie and the grits" with home fries. I tried something new to me: Pineapple upside down pancakes. It was amazing. I couldn't eat it all- especially since it comes with eggs, meat and a side. We will definitely return!! read more

I've been here many times over the years and the food and service is always amazing. Love their mimosa flight and Greek omelet! Anywhere else I go for brunch, I will try to recreate this omelet but it's always missing something. The Egg Bistro has it exactly right. My daughter and I showed up for a fast breakfast this morning before school. We had less than 45 minutes. The restaurant was really busy (amazing specials on food and adult drinks) yet, even with all the hustle of it all, our server was attentive and we were in and out in less than an hour. I had the Burrito Light (pictured) with fruit. She had the Carnitas Breakfast Burrito. My only regret is that we were not able to stay and enjoy more of the food. We will definitely be back. This morning I came back to this restaurant after almost 6 years. Nothing about this restaurant has changed, its still jam packed and business is obviously booming. If you've been here, you'd know why. The customer service here is extraordinary. The food is amazing, restaurant was clean, and our server (Rebecca)was awesome!! Today was a little different than other days. My foodie partner brought up an email to the management staff of a conversation between them from months ago. Today, when management approached him about it, they had a gift certificate waiting for him. To me, this is almost unheard of. This shows they take customer service seriously. I think from now on, this is my go-to brunch restaurant. Waffle what? Huddle who? Just sayin'. Absolutely love the management, customer service, and I haven't eaten talked about the food yet! I ordered the cinnamon swirl french toast and regular black coffee. That had to be the best french toast I've ever had. Not too sweet, even if you used the shot of syrup. It wasn't greasy or oily, it didn't have a chewy crust on the bread, and it was fully cooked. My foodie partner had the meat lover's omelette and garlic fries. Those fries were hands down one of the best fries I've tasted. I didn't get a chance to taste the omelette because my partner killed it before I could get to it. I don't write many reviews, but we got such great service from Vanessa that I had to give her a shout out. This is one of those places you have to visit if you're in Chesapeake. It's our favorite brunch place because they have really interesting dishes, the staff always comes across really upbeat and happy, and the service is outstanding. We've only had one "miss" on a steak that was overcooked on a busy afternoon, but even then, the manager personally came to get our feedback and promised to make it up to us on our next visit. We stumbled upon this little eatery after doing some quick Google searches for the best breakfasts' in Chesapeake. It is a cute little plaza surrounded by other small restaurants and businesses. We were up and at em early, with a day planned at the beach for Memorial Day weekend and were quite surprised to find the place packed, with a wait at 7am, but always take that as a good sign. We don't live in the area, but visit often, so we are always on the search for good eatery's. After about a 30 minute wait, give or take, we were seated at a table towards the back of the restaurant. By the time we were seated, we already knew what we wanted to eat, as we had browsed the menu while waiting. My husband and I ordered a cup of coffee, and a water with lemon each, while our daughter ordered an apple juice from the kids menu. Our waitress was a bright, bubbly young woman with a friendly demeanor. The restaurant was sunny and bright and had a charming personality. Our coffee was good, and our waitress was good about keeping it topped off. For breakfast, our daughter ordered a sausage biscuit sandwich with hash browns off the children's menu (she's 9). I ordered an egg scrambled, a cup of sausage gravy and a slice of gluten free multi grain toast all al a carte. My husband ordered the "Dig In" breakfast Bistro bowl, which is four eggs scrambled, with green peppers, onions, tomatoes and cheddar cheese, piled high on top of house made home fries. Served with your choice of bacon or sausage links (turkey or pork) or patties and toast or a biscuit for $9.99. He chose the bacon and got multi grain gluten free toast for a small up-charge. He then covered his bistro bowl in Speedy's hot sauce. Apparently they have a wide variety of hot sauces to choose from. When they brought us our food, our toast was very bready and not toasted at all. So I asked our waitress to take it back and get it at the very least, a light brown. Even if she was aggravated, she showed no sign of it, and gladly took our bread back and got it toasted for us. I appreciated her professionalism and friendliness! That is so hard to come by these days. Anyway, food was just okay. Not bad, but not impressive. Service was outstanding. We will likely visit again. read more

The egg bistro is a great spot for breakfast. Only problem, if you do not get there right when they open you could be waiting up to an hour to eat. The egg bistro gives huge portions which is good if you are starving. I can't ever finish and usually take the food home. One thing they do have that is the most amazing tasting thing they have is THE ALLIGATOR HOT SAUCE. Unfortunately the last few times I have gone there wasn't any which makes me sad. Now the only reason I did take off the point is because of the wait and they haven't had the alligator sauce the last three times I have gone. I've always loved the Egg Bistro since their start at Harborview. I definitely got my money's worth in food. I hate going places and they serving portions are so small for the money you spent. For $11 I got French toast, 2 eggs, 2 sausage links, and cubed potatoes. Needless to say I didn't finish my meal I was stuffed!!! Our waitress Bridget was very efficient.
