Stopped in for brunch while visiting family. Definitely a busy spot, but we didn't end up waiting very long to be sat. Our server said she was new but she did an excellent job. Orange juice was nice, fresh and cold not too much pulp. Bloody Mary had a good balance of spice but not too spicy. The 2E's Two Step was excellent loved the bacon wrapped asparagus and the hollandaise sauce was excellent. I do wish it was served on the same plate as everything else from the breakfast. We arrived around 9am on a Wednesday, by the time we were leaving around 1130 they had gotten a little busier, but still didn't seem to have a much of a wait time! We all got coffees and food. The egg bistro was pretty packed on this Saturday morning but still our wait time was only about 20 minutes which was perfect because we were hungry! Starting out I hit the restroom to wash my hands and red alert, it was disgusting. This was during peak hours but I do believe someone should have popped in to tidy up mid-day. Once I made it to my table, our server Vanessa was polite and offered great recommendations right away. She suggested the "one love" mixed drink which was very pretty and had a nice sweet and perky flavor to it. We also opted for the mimosa flight which had fun flavors like watermelon and pineapple, but my partner felt they were lacking on the champagne side and tasted closer to regular juice than mimosas. For breakfast I opted for the Citrus Cream Crullers, which were topped with sweet crème and fresh fruit (strawberries and blueberries.) The dish also came with eggs that I had scrambled with cheese (very cheesy :) as well as peppered bacon and their home fries which were absolutely delicious. The citrus in the crullers tasted of lime, which was just ok but I feel they would really shine with an orange base. The home fries with onion, peppers, rosemary and garlic were no doubt the star of the show! My partner enjoyed the breakfast chimichanga, which was stuffed with blackened chicken, cheese, their home fries, egg and pico de gallo. It's then fried and topped with chimichurri aioli. Everything about it was delicious except the chimichurri aioli which for some reason had a sour taste to it (try on the side) but none the less we were impressed with them and their menu and grabbed a couple extra dishes to go. In our to go order we grabbed the Steak Bowl which was *perfection* (chimichurri aioli on the side) and the Bennie & the Grits which was excellent. The hollandaise made the dish even more tasty and bonus! it came with another side of potatoes :) Overall this place is worth a visit and we'll be back for sure. Thank you! I've been here many times but never leave a review... until now! I love this place. Yes, it's usually busy and there's a wait time, but on a week day, the wait is usually not that long. Anyway, I've ordered different dishes off the menu, but my favorite.. absolutely favorite is their Banana Nut Bread French Toast. OMG! So good. The crunch from the pecans, that caramel sauce, that banana bread (I want the recipe!!)..... if I'm ever in prison, and about to be executed, this will be my last meal.. well, maybe with some Laksa, and sushi.. this could be dessert.. Popped in here early enough where it was only a 20 minute wait. The message you when your tables ready, so that's nice because you can relax in the car. Our waitress was super awesome (Rachel). Very attentive! The place had its usual buzz with great music playing. I had the North End Bennie which was A LOT! Medium cooked sliced steak on top of yummy bread with perfectly cooked poached eggs and bernaise sauce. Topped with a huge amount of lump crab! It was worth every penny! The Mediterranean salad on the side was a nice light refreshing accompaniment to the pile of protein and carbs!! Kalamata olives, nice spring mix, with fresh cherry tomatoes, a light vinaigrette topped with feta cheese made this a perfect dish. I'm going to keep this short and sweet. I ordered the Steak Bowl (rare with two over easy eggs) and this was hands-down the best breakfast steak I've ever had. Usually you get some cast-off piece of beef smothered in toppings so that you don't taste the mediocrity. This would've been able to stand alone, but the rest of the components lifted it. Our waitress was fantastic, despite a completely packed restaurant. She was very personable and on-top of everything. The water glasses never went lower than half-full, and the mimosas were on a merry-go-round. The restaurant itself was clean, crisp, bustling, and interesting. While the restaurant was packed with customers, the majority of the service staff had smiles on their faces while engaging with the restaurant's patrons. Also (and very important), the ambiance of the restaurant was nice and clean. On to the so-so. For my dining pleasure, I went with the Swanky Benedict. I guess, with the fried chicken, it is a Southern take on Eggs Benedict. While the presentation of the dish was very nice, I found the dish itself to be a bit blah. For my preferences, the chicken was really bland and the eggs were poached too hard. While the food for my brunch was not the best during this visit, it definitely was not the worst that I've had in the area. They have menu board specials for the day as well as discounts on brunch drinks before 9am. Our server, Kristin C. was super friendly and took great care of us. It wasn't even 9am and the place was packed already, but we were seated pretty quickly (must have gotten one of the last few tables - phew!) - Parking - Center lot - TLC - Our waitress was fantastic! Super friendly and upbeat, made recs when asked and just super attentive. Great with our kids too. I even asked if their Hot Chocolate was made with water or milk (my biggest pet peeve when Hot Chocolate is made with water, like what the heck?! - It's probably my French side LOL, but anyway). She said she could make it with milk and she delivered! Also, other staff members assist with food coming out and other needs. Great team work...because it makes the dream work! ;) - Noms & Sips - Carnitas Burrito with Hash Browns - my husband ordered this one. His go-tos are usually breakfast burritos and he found this one to be ok and the Hash Browns was a bit bland. He really just didn't order right this time, I guess. We had a large party 15+ and staff made sure to seat us at tables close to each other. The food and drinks were okay. I ordered the Don (scrabbled eggs, bacon, home fries, and wheat toast). The home fries were a little disappointing and a little on the charred side. I wish they would have added some seasonings, peppers and onions for flavor. For drink I ordered the Jolly Rancher Mimosa. The egg bistro is one of my favorite local restaurants. The mimosa flights is a must EVERYTIME. For 12 dollars you get 4 mimosa flavors of your choice and each glass is about 4 to 5 ounces. My favorites are the Apple orchard, cranberry, passion fruit and strawberry puree. I've never had a bad experience or had food that I didn't like at the egg bistro. We arrived around 11:57 and had a 50 hour wait, but they text you when your table is ready so I tan next door to Walmart to grab a few items and returned to wait. Definitely could use some seats in the waiting area, but not too bad. After being seated the menu was a little overwhelming and hard to read with a glass, but I LOVE the variety of options. Were out of fried green tomatoes. Got the mimosa flight which tasted like juice, but the alcohol was definitely in there and snuck up on me. The Egg Bistro is a popular brunch spot & has several locations. I went to the Chesapeake location. The Chesapeake location is pretty small, but they do their best to get people in & out. I don't believe there are reservations but you can put yourself on the wait list when you arrive and you'll receive a text once ready. It took 20 minutes for me to get seated (2 people). It then took 40 minutes before our food arrived. I built my own omelette, with hash brown and french toast. The omelet was good however I felt like it needed more cheese. I think they only put cheese on top of the omelet and that slice was in the middle. As a result, the middle tasted the best. The end pieces definitely needed cheese. I also ordered the steak & eggs with home fries. The steak was cooked perfectly. For those wanting to attend The Egg Bistro, just plan accordingly. Since this is a popular spot and small building, the wait can be long. If you're okay with that, you'll be fine. The food and customer service was fresh and delicious.
