Waited 20 mins on a to go order for one item... all for them to get my order wrong. Bummy way to start my morning :/ won't be returning.

I love the atmosphere of this place. They are always in there a game and enjoy their food every time.

Came here for breakfast on my birthday. Luckily we didn't have to wait since it was a Tuesday, and the hostess was really nice. It's a small place. They give you comp coffee cake while you're waiting for your food, which was pretty darn good, nice and moist and goes great with coffee. Decor is very country, decked out with roosters everywhere and cute murals of a barn on the wall. Service was ok, nothing memorable or note worthy. Hubby had the country fried steak and eggs and I got the crab Benedict. I normally never order eggs Benedict of any kind because the hollandaise sauce is too rich for me, but I love crab, so I thought why not, let's live a little... and it was pretty good. However, I was quite disappointed and surprised to find that it was made with imitation crab. And for the record, I just don't care for imitation crab meat. Really homey feeling when we first stepped inside. Hostess was really nice and so was our server. First time in Simi valley, looking for good place to eat, and the egg house came first in Yelp. So glad we tried this place, they have everything for breakfast and lunch. Delicious and at a reasonable price too. I had their omelette of the day and it was awesome. Restroom is immaculate, able to do my business at peace I tell ya. The only con I could think of is that that seats are too packed in the middle section and I really can't move much, good thing I'm not claustrophobic. Hadn't been here in a long time and was in the mood for a good brunch, so I decided to come back. I usually go for savory breakfast, but my friend saw fresh homemade cinnamon rolls on the menu, so we decided to split one. I ordered their special omelette of the day which had Portuguese Sausage, cheese, fajita veggies, and sourcream. I had mine made with egg whites and it was hearty and delicious. It came with another sweet biscuit and a savory biscuit as well. Super filling and I couldn't finish everything. My friend had a scramble with beef, cheese, and other veggies (not pictured). Fresh food with great outdoor seating and friendly service. And the prices were great for brunch! read more

Found this gem when my friend & I wanted breakfast after doing goat yoga nearby last Saturday morning. Place was packed & a line outside. Wait was only about 10minutes. Service was quick but friendly. My Diet Coke was never empty (key). You get an "appetizer" slice of crumb cake. Really good. Could have gone for more. I ordered the chorizo & eggs. Comes w rice & beans (I held the beans) & tortillas. I pretty much finished mine. Very good. Friend got eggs/hash browns/1/2 waffle & cleaned her plate. So we decided to go out for breakfast. Coco's ..pass. Eggs N Things .. probably a long wait on the Sunday morning. We decide on The Egg House. We haven't been there in a while. We have a short wait. We get a booth. Yay! The place is filled. Good energy. We are hungry. My partner orders California Eggs Benedict and I order the Hawaiian French Toast with mango butter. I asked the server what makes the French Toast "Hawaiian". She said "the mango butter". Alrighty then...most mangos these days come from the Philippines and Mexico, but hey, I will take Hawaii any day! The obligatory slice of coffee cake hits the table. I remembered it as being great. This time - it's underwhelming and I quit after one bite. California Eggs Benedict comes and it looks great. My partner only comments on the avocado which was hidden under a couple tablespoons of hollandaise...the slices had black spots on them and nicely hidden by the sauce. Aww man. My "Hawaiian French Toast" comes rolled in corn flakes. It is not good. The "Mango Butter" holds it's own but the French Toast would make a Frenchman revolt. So note to self: Do NOT order "Hawaiian French Toast" again. The service, prices and atmosphere for a breakfast house is great. Will we hit the Egg House again for breakfast? Sure. We just won't order the California Eggs Benedict (well, maybe and ask for the avo on the side!) and that Hawaiian French Toast with Mango Butter again. Long lines during the weekends. Coffee cake as a starter. Pretty big portions. Lots of healthy options. Service can be hit or miss depending on how busy they are. Our last experience, our waitress spilled the coffee while pouring because she wasn't paying attention and off running to the next table. Best breakfast in Simi Valley!!! My husband and I have been regular customers of The Egg House for the better part of a decade. The service and friendliness here is fantastic!!!! I have never ever had anything I didn't like (and I'm always trying new things from the menu). They also give you coffee cakes to eat while you are waiting for your food to come out. YES PLEASE!!!! The decor is fantastic since the renovation and they always have nice music playing which makes the ambiance very enjoyable. The lines get long sometimes but don't be intimidated because the line moves quickly. Terrible service and even more so terrible food. The bacon tasted like it had been cooked 2 days prior and pancakes were so dry. Even the orange juice tasted bad. The little coffee cake they give you while you wait was so dry and hard, it was like a hockey puck. I had a bad experience with them 2 years ago but decided to give it another try. The food is really good, no question about it. But i had to deduct two stars for the following. 1) The seating situation: there are tables where maybe a table shouldn't be. I'd rather wait a few minutes longer if it meant I wasn't trapped at my table by other patrons when they sit down to eat or park their double wide strollers (because the tables are crammed together)... and 2) They forgot about us: If you serve good food, your servers get busy. Duh. But in this case they forgot our drinks and then forgot about half of the items we ordered, we waited patiently but at some point there should be a follow-up. I'm a creature of habit, and on days that my schedule allows it, I like to go find a coffee shop; order my usual breakfast and drink copious amounts of both coffee and ice water while I read the paper. And sad to say I usually order the same thing. But today I decided to change things up a bit, and that might be the reason the Egg House earned 5 stars instead of 4. Now I didn't get too radical here, I still ordered the coffee and large ice water and I am glad to report that they refilled them just as fast as I could empty them, But I also ordered an egg dish from the bottom of the menu called the raspberry scramble. It's scrambled eggs of course, but it is mixed in with ground turkey. I guess those Jennie-O commercials are making an impact on me. Also mixed in were onion straws. They added a lot of texture and a nice little bit of flavor too. There were 3 or 4 avocado slices on top, and on the side was a portion cup full of raspberry aioli. Sounds weird to me too; but trust me this combination works. I don't know how it wound up on the menu in Simi, but I think I will plan my next trip over the Santa Susana around this dish. I was a little disappointed though in my fresh fruit, although not really enough to downgrade the stars. I subbed fruit for hash browns and found that most of the melon pieces were cut way to close to the rind. But on the plus side, as I was waiting for my meal; one of the waitresses came out of the kitchen with a fresh pan of coffee cake. She made the rounds of the whole place giving every customer a little treat. I don;t know if this is customary, or if it was my lucky day. Either way it was a nice touch. read more

I'd have to admit... The reason why we came here is because there was a Yelp check in discount offer. There's a big sign outside that screamed: CHICKEN AND WAFFLES, so what did order? Corned beef hash and eggs with hash browns. It was pretty good! I asked them to make my hash browns and corned beef hash a little crispy, and they did cook it perfectly, where as some other places tend to burn them when I ask for "crispy". First off, it's called Egg House for obvious reasons. My friend really wanted eggs and I being one who isn't a huge fan of eggs was a little scared when we pulled into the parking lot. Which by the way is a parking lot to other businesses, Egg House is facing the street so it may be hard to miss when looking for it in the plaza not realizing its on the side. Anyway, we were seated and attended to promptly. They were really busy this morning but someone was always checking in on us. So the service was great. Now for the food. I already have said I don't like eggs, however I crave them but never eat them. So I figured since we were there minus well have some & fulfill my cravings. So I ordered the California Benedict. Amazing. its poached eggs each on its own English muffin with cheese, avocado, tomato & Hollandaise sauce on top. I've only had Hollandaise once before at another restaurant and found it to be disgusting. But this sauce was perfect. I had them make my yolk cooked which I know is an oxymoron for eggs Benedict but I don't like the yolk runny. My friend ordered Eggs Benedict and he enjoyed them, he also ordered from the Athletes Menu which I think is the greatest idea for a menu. He ordered the 4 Egg White Omelette with sides of fruit.
