    Chicken Sandwich

The food selection was great here. Everything tasted so fresh. Quick service! We ate outside on the patio and it was a relaxing environment.

We visited The Eiteljorg 4th of July weekend and stopped in the cafe for lunch. They have a great selection of hot and cold items as well as snacks and drinks. The prices are also not too inflated for a museum restaurant. Also all plates, silverware, cups and straws were reusable or biodegradable which was nice to see.

The turkey club sandwich is legit. Completely worth the $10 it costs (the price includes a bag of chips). The California BLTA sandwich (bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado) was very good because of the excellent bacon. It was super crispy, like bacon in a sandwich should be. The avocado was kind of strange and sweet, as though they added something to it to preserve its color and texture (those wily avocados can turn on you within minutes). But other than the avocado, the sandwich was terrific. The menu is pretty large here, considering it's a cafe inside of a museum. That can be either a good thing or a bad thing, depending on how you look at it. It's good because you have a lot of items to choose from, but it's bad because I think their large menu adds to their super slow service. (We had to wait about 15 minutes. For sandwiches, that's kind of absurd.) Speaking of their menu, keep in mind that they have an abbreviated menu between the hours of 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and 2:30 to 5 p.m. on Sunday through Friday. They only sell snacks during those times (cookies, brownies, chips, beverages, etc.) I tried one of their cookies -- the oatmeal walnut cookie -- and it was just OK. It had sultanas in it, which aren't my favorite. They have a pretty decent tea selection -- lots of interesting flavors and blends. I got the lavender Earl Grey, which was amazing.

    Mouthwatering presentation!!!

I would love to meet the chef here. I can see and taste the love he/she puts into every dish. I've never been disappointed and always impressed by this museum cafe. Everything is made from scratch, is absolutely amazing in flavor, the menu is inspired and presentation mouthwatering. I also love the ease of service here. It's not complicated in any way and I enjoy the peaceful outside patio especially in downtown Indy!! If you've never been I definitely recommend this hidden gem. Many are unaware of this place and you do not have to pay a museum admission to eat in the restaurant/cafe. I work across the street, but sure wish I could grab my laptop and work right here from this relaxing setting.

I liked the complimentary coffee bar while waiting for a table. Since I came with a couple of friends and didn't have reservations, we ended up waiting somewhere between 30 minutes to an hour before being seated. One of the biggest drawbacks was the restroom situation. There are only two gender neutral restrooms, and the wait was incredibly long. I waited close to 30 minutes just to use the restroom. It seemed like only one restroom may have been operational because I only noticed people coming out of one. For a business this large and as busy as it gets, I don't feel that's enough restroom accommodation. The first available table was outside, so we decided to take it. Unfortunately, it wasn't the best experience. There was nearby construction, making it very loud and difficult to carry on conversations amongst our table. It was also a windy and chilly day, and I definitely underestimated the weather. I should have brought a coat! We weren't in the sun so it was too chilly. The strong wind constantly blew napkins and other items around the table, which became frustrating. During cooler days, outdoor heaters would make the patio much more comfortable. Even though I was uncomfortable, our server was friendly and attentive to us. I ordered the Morning Edition breakfast, and it was excellent. I liked the variety of items included, everything tasted good, and the portion size was just right for me. I finished every bite and left satisfied. I really enjoyed the potatoes and cinnamon toast. I enjoyed my food and service was good, but if you're planning to visit on a Saturday morning, I would strongly recommend making reservations if possible. It could save you a long wait and potentially get you a better seating option.

This spot is just off the creek, with a decent parking lot and a drive through. It has a deeper warmer green than a Starbucks, and it draws a much warmer crowd too. We chatted often with the people in this shop! And we visited twice. How welcoming is that? The breakfast burrito is nothing flashy, but definitely warm gooey goodness. What sets it apart is the sauce: creamy, gently spiced, something like a seasoned mayo but not spicy. Coffee, of course, is the backbone here, and it's handled with a kind of calm precision. Our barista kindly alerted my partner and me that a warm blueberry latte would have oatmeal because of course the blueberry curdles regular milk. It was great attention to detail, and it's why we came back again and again during our week long trip. They had a special for every day! Shout out to the orange blossom latte which made me feel like a fairy amidst the city's tulips.

Same great staff, same cool space, same open kitchen where a party of one like me can grab a counter seat and watch the chefs do their thing. I've honestly always enjoyed that part of the experience. Today I had the avocado toast with feta and an egg on top, and it totally hit the spot. Earlier this week I tried one of the newer menu items -- fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, plus a sample of jalapeño cornbread and Asian slaw. Incredible comfort food. And as someone who normally isn't much of a slaw person, I was surprised by how much I loved it. They also tried to tempt me with the roast beef special, which honestly looked great, but at 10:30 in the morning I just couldn't fully commit to roast beef yet. Maybe next time. The new name is a nice tribute to the owner's mother, Arleen, but thankfully it still feels like the Milktooth so many of us have come to enjoy over the years. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't been in awhile.

We found street parking outside and once inside, I couldn't believe how pretty it was. I heard that it was recently renovated and it shows. It has plenty of seating, free wifi, and a television. I ordered the baby romaine salad with salmon and a side of fries. The salad was pretty much a caesar salad with parm, a crouton crumble, and black garlic dressing. It was a bit pricey and the wait was much longer than I anticipated given we were the only two people in the entire restaurant. That said, the portions were pretty big. The side of fries was enough for a couple people to munch on and the salmon and salad were packed full of flavor. While quite salty, I was satisfied. I would try more of their menu if I happened to be staying here, but I wouldn't go out of my way to return. Given that I'm from out of town and visit a few times a year, this is very well a possibility. I'll end by saying the menu listed off a number of local businesses they support by utilizing their product, a local bakery, a brand of cheese, and a juicery to name a few.

The fries came in a large bowl (definitely sharable), and the salads were also very generously sized. Protein portions were impressive, too.
