The owner was our server. The experience was emotional that resulted in giving a her hug. Who does that?!? Yes, us! I can't even pronounce the dishes we tried and ended up speechless. The balance of taste and goodness was outspoken! We started with the poached egg dish and basically licked the plate clean when nobody was looking. You could tell it was homemade as you tasted each ingredient that hugged your tastebuds with the time and passion it took to develop this dish. I had a chicken dish and he had the fried ball dish. Owner was responsive to allergies to keep us safe. Glad we ordered a bottle from the carefully selected wine list to partake from as we took this culinary journey. The ambience was terrific. It was small, but not cramped. We arrived after the dinner rush. The owner could have rushed us but actually appeared to enjoy having us there! It was closing time so we ordered dessert as a carry out because we were so full, but didn't want to miss out on dessert. The baklava piece could have been bigger, which is my only comment for improvement. I can't wait to be in the area again to try more. I hope the restaurant continues to be successful. The place was busy, but that didn't stop the staff from giving me a warm welcome. They even thanked me for the review I left after my last visit and asked how my daughter was doing. That kind of personal touch is rare and says a lot about the people who work here. This time I ordered the steak burger and the chili cheese dog, and both were an easy 10/10. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I was hoping for. I grabbed a spot on one of the comfortable couches in the back, caught up on some work, and enjoyed one of the best lunches I've had in a while. The food, coffee, and desserts are always outstanding, but what really keeps me coming back is the atmosphere and the people. They make you feel like more than just another customer. If you're ever in downtown Indianapolis and need a great spot for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or even just coffee and dessert, do yourself a favor and stop by Three Dolls. Service was great, prompt and kept us busy. Food is never disappointing as I have tried RIZE Carmel earlier and it's great. The tart was delicious and the veggies cut through the flavors giving a very nice flavor and texture. I ordered a protein smoothie which came out great, hearty something filling to start my day. My friend ordered potato waffle which was a unique combination with a salad. All in all definitely delicious and such good outdoor vibes with the ironworks clientele.

It was delicious! You can add an egg or chicken or salmon, but I don't think it needs any of those. If I had to do it all again, I'd ask for light dressing, because they were a little heavy-handed with the dressing on this salad. Isn't that always the way?! Restaurants need to cool it with the dressing, in my opinion. To be honest, the booze situation at Rize is a little anemic, but I don't think Rize is really the place to order anything alcoholic beyond a mimosa or bloody Mary. I got a screwdriver: freshly squeezed orange juice and vodka, and I'm still wondering where the vodka went. It did not visit my screwdriver, I tell you what. The seating inside Rize feels like it's at a premium, because depending on when you visit, there is very little of it. When I visited, almost every table was occupied, and the place was echoing with conversation. I chose to sit outside, which I'd recommend, if you can! It's so nice to sit and eat a good meal outdoors. How many times do we get to eat outdoors in Indiana? Just go outside, if you can.

We sat for about 10-15 minutes and didn't even get as much as eye-contact from any of the servers walking by our table. We caught the hosts attention and he brought us water and said he would take care of us instead. This caught the bartender's/server's attention and I overheard her tell the host she would get our table. Another 5-10 minutes go by and the server still had not came by to take care of us. We were in the middle of deciding if we wanted to leave and she finally came by. No apologies or acknowledgment regarding our wait. We had planned on ordering the juice flight, but they only had two of the nine or so options available, not enough to even order a flight. We ordered two of the juices, the croissant french toast, the chicken pesto wrap, the brunch burger, and a 'bottomless' drip coffee. The wait on the food was what we would expect with how busy it was, and the food was fantastic. No complaints to the kitchen, and it's the only reason we might give this place a second chance. As we were eating, our server came by and checked to see how we were doing, my husband asked for another coffee and I told her that I had got the wrong sauce with my fries. She apologized for the mistake and said she would be back with both the coffee and the aioli. She brought my sauce, we finished eating, but we never got another coffee. She brought us boxes when we were done eating, and my husband left to use the restroom. He came back and we still had not received our check. He went up to the bar where our server was and asked to close our tab. She said she'd come by our table to ring us up. She apologized for not bringing the check sooner and that it was 'hectic' (it was almost three o'clock with maybe four people at the bar and many many open tables). With the exception of the host, everyone on the floor was generally unfriendly and we felt very unimportant. My friend told me it had not been open long and the "Now Open" signs certainly seemed to confirm that. I arrived before he did around 11 AM and was the only one there at the time (though that certainly changed before we left). The diminutive size is striking as you can certainly characterize this place as cozy. They could perhaps seat 25 or 30 people. I quickly picked a seat and my friend arrived about five minutes later. Our waitress attended to us quickly and did a good job throughout our time there. The menu featured quite a lot of comfort fare with a bit of Tex-Mex flare to some of the items. Both of us had skipped breakfast so those items sounded good. He tried the Breakfast Special with eggs, sausage and pancakes. It was less than $6 as I recall which was a great price. I went a little more up-price as I tried the Turkey Avocado Omelet which came with toast and potatoes. The avocado was not quite as ripe as I would like but it was otherwise pretty tasty. The coffee was also pretty decent, more than adequate with a meal. The final price of our meal with food, drinks, tax and tip was $37. At $18.50 per person, this was not bad. Mine was pricier than his, so you have to account for that. You can easily get to $20-plus per person. But the food is pretty good and the atmosphere is a simple vintage diner style which can be kind of fun (think of a smaller, more personal and more unique version of Waffle House). The service was also fine and all of this made this a reasonable value. I'd certainly be happy to go back, especially given the convenient location.

I am reluctant to add a tip when I am paying at the counter, but was happy to leave some cash on the table as the food was brought to me on china and real silverware is provided.
