Having visited a few times under the old ownership and been generally happy, I was expecting an improved experience but was disappointed. My hamburger was average, neither bad nor exceptional. The fries were the same coated fries they served previously. This is a pet peeve of mine. Fries should be nothing but potato, not seasoned, not coated, not re-formed. I'm perfectly OK with frozen crinkle cut. Better yet are steak fries. But if you are advertising yourself as having great food, there is no reason they shouldn't be freshly cut and double fried. read more

Traditional American diner with regional touches. Breakfast served all day. Some items are named for locals or regulars, like the Lenny (?) Thick, fluffy pancakes, excellent milkshakes (served with a thick, barbershop pole colored paper straw), real, shredded corned beef hash. Western omelet and breakfast burritos were all very tasty. Crunchy sides of potatoes were so good we took them home. Pleasant waitstaff. Would definitely recommend. read more

We stopped here for breakfast on a friday morning thinking that this would be a good place for breakfast..We were the only ones there for at least 30min. Our server greeted us and said we could sit down anywhere..We were a party of 4 and sat in a booth that had only 2 places set. She came over and got us coffee to start..We ordered eggs scrambled and i ordered a side of bacon with it. The menu says two eggs any style but we were thinking if this is two eggs i would hate to see a1egg would be.It came with only 1 slice of toast and some potatoes.I left their still hungry..Not sure who if it was two eggs. Maybe very small eggs,but i'm used to being full when i'm done with eating breakfast.The prices were more than you would expect and there was a $4 fee added to the bill..Overall not a great place to eat at least for breakfast... read more

Absolutely city kitschy. Don't comment on their Facebook page. They block you. No locals want a deli, book nook and expensive alcohol. We want to run in, grab a quick sandwich and snacks on our way to go fishing. I hope the Troopers check the area with their bogo drinks. read more

The worst experience ever. I arrived just a little after 12 and I wanted eggs only to find out that the chef wasn't serving eggs because he was overwhelmed from breakfast. Not only that. The waitress took a long time to bring our menus. She was cleaning off tables and the diner was empty. Bring your seated customers a menu then go clean the tables. She has no clue about customer service. The service was slow. Everything I wanted on the menu wasn't available. I ended up ordering the smash burger and it was so dry. The fries were mushy. The coleslaw didn't even taste like coleslaw. First and last time I will ever go there. read more

This mid century diner is truly gorgeous and is in a great spot over a lake. The food is particularly good, classic diner food (they have the best french fries!). Alcoholic beverages are available which I don't usually think of when I think of a diner. Worth a detour! The interior is beautifully restored mid century diner, but the food is a step above typical diner food. The milkshakes are delicious and they serve drinks. Service was smooth and friendly and it's completely kid friendly. My son was entranced with the original '50's juke box as well as original "spinny" counter stools. Serene setting looking over a lake and you can get snacks for the road in the adjoining deli while checking out a surprisingly well curated book nook (in the deli). read more

The food at the diner is so good and the atmosphere is wonderful. The people there are so nice and really care about there customers. I had western omlett and taste out of this world. This place would likely be overlooked by anyone who has never been but they definitely give a good reason to stop in. In the middle of no-where, with no cell reception, you'll have to actually like the people you come with as the service is quite slow. Once your food comes though, all will be forgiven. They have a great breakfast menu and the portions are ideal. Best home fries I've had, and omelettes the size of your plate. They always have daily specials and the prices are reasonable. Definitely one of the best, and only, spots around for a good breakfast read more

The service was friendly and the fries were good,other than that disappointing. The Bloody Mary's are weak and didn't taste like celery salt, hot sauce or pepper were included in the mix. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich. The first that came out looked like it had been forgotten in the fryer and then re dipped and fried again to try and cover the blackened chicken and breading. This did not improve the quality of the sandwich. Under the breading was a layer of blackened chicken jerky that was less than palatable.The second chicken sandwich was much the same as the first over cooked and tasting and looking burnt. I personally have never been served a fried butter milk chicken that is blackened until now. I informed the wait staff and they apologized and removed it from the bill she was very friendly and the only reason for the stars. Right before I left the " chef " came out and began to question me about the sandwiches . I showed her the blackened coloration and explained that it tasted burnt . She said that there was "a new girl in back" and " I make a great chicken sandwich"and told me to "cut the sandwich in half" I didn't understand how that would impact the overall cooking and that I have never seen butter milk breading come out black . She then took my plate and said " so you don't want it" and stormed off when I said i didn't. She was hostile the entire time I was talking to her. I very much enjoyed the fry's. I was really hoping that this would be a different experience and I was disappointed. This diner is not for the locals who lived and grew up here. This is gentrification at its finest. The goal is not to serve the public in this small town that used this place for GENERATIONS to stop and get much needed supplies if they could not reach the main stores in Red Hook or Hudson. This was a place where you could count on a generous serving and could feed your kids if you are living out in this area without reliable transportation. This does not have the local feel anymore. It seems like these new owners, not from this area, want to create a destination for other people who may have thought "how quaint, a little country store, how charming" and saw dollar signs that have trickled down to higher prices and smaller serving sizes for the people who are getting squeezed out of the area by gentrification. The energy of the new owners is not for us folk who have lived here our whole lives. This is about the owners and for the owners. The food tastes good but the entire vibe that comes from these people does not make it worth the stop for me and for many other people I speak to who are not online and know how to leave a review...they just look elsewhere. really enjoyed this diner for breakfast. was relatively cheap but good food. the Belgian waffles were amazing! got one of the combo breakfasts, and added a few things and split that with the wife, while our daughter had the waffles. so between us we had the pancakes, eggs, hash browns (similar to the ones at mcdonalds) and and previously mentioned waffles. Was a lot of food and pretty good. no GPS reception in the area, so a little harder to get to, but was next to a little lake, very picturesque. read more

Clermont needs some yelp love. Last June, a coworker told me that a diner moved next to the Elizaville deli. I didn't believe him and didn't even bother to check it out, even though it would literally be a mile and a half from my house. So one day I finally drove by, and lo and behold... Clermont has a diner. A 1950's Kullman style diner. I've been here for breakfast a bunch of times and always had a pleasant experience. The omelettes are real good and the potatoes are AWESOME (but can sometimes be not as awesome, but are still always good). Never have I been so thrilled to eat potatoes in my life. Some people will recommend you go to Pete's Famous in Rhinebeck; but don't. It's overpriced, crowded and not as tasty. Oh, and did I mention that it's in Rhinebeck? A diner plotted in the middle of no where...sounds like a fairy tale to me but not in this case. I come here monthly to meet up with my friends for breakfast. and I always look foward to it. The waitress is friendly, always asking if you want more coffee. The food is great! It's even better than your average IHOP or Friendly's. There is no comparison what so ever. The home fries are cooked the way I want them to be. No more picking through them. The corn beef hash are awesome! My friends gets the buckwheat pancakes. I was going to give 3.5 stars, but rounded up...feeling generous I guess! As far as the "deli" goes, I can't accurately review, because we went there for pizza. I know what you're thinking. I was thinking it too. Bumfuck nowhere "deli" for pizza? I'm STILL thinking it. But I was pleasantly surprised and REALLY impressed! We got a white pie with garlic (no veg or anything), a pepperoni and a pepperoni and sausage. The white pie was AWESOME. I like garlic, and there was plenty of it. The crust is really light and delicious - you get a fair amount of droopage because of that. The pepperoni was a little spicy, and the sausage/pepperoni pie was greasy but good. So yeah, it's not the best pizza I've ever had, but it's definitely not the worst. I am still a LITTLE in shock, but I guess it just proves the whole book/cover thing. :) read more

Nine of us ate lunch there yesterday and we really enjoyed it. The food was delicious, portions were plentiful, the servers were very friendly & efficient and the interior & exterior are attractive. I had the vegetarian lasagna, which came with a house salad (unusually good), a huge portion of really fresh-tasting/large pieces of broccoli and two pieces of garlic bread. Despite the fact that I couldn't even finish all that food, I was compelled to get a take-out dessert because it was peanut butter pie. I devoured it after returning home and it was a real treat. Recently had breakfast with six family members who were in the area for a wedding. We had everything from pancakes and French toast to corned beef hash to bacon and eggs. The service was excellent, the coffee fresh and piping hot and the food was delicious in this well-preserved 1950s-styled diner. Prices were reasonable as well. Our only complaint was that the poached eggs were all too well-done. A poached egg should have a firm white and a liquid yolk; the poached eggs at our table were just short of hard-boiled. But everything else was perfect. We were happy that we didn't travel all the way into Rhinebeck because this little country diner was just fine. read more

Worst dining experience I've had. We sat for almost half an hour before flagging down a waitress to take our drink order. 4 adults and 1 child, every single meal was wrong. Nothin came out at the same time and as we sent everything back, it was ALL wrong the second time AGAIN. The cook refused to put my BLT on wheat instead of rye because "that's not how he makes it". I live locally, I am in this deli everyday, and order take out at least once a week. It had always been great, until recently. The last two months every takeout order I've gotten has been messed-up. From forgetting part of it to forgetting to bring key ingredients. Usually they are quick to help, accommodate and fix it. The other night I ordered 4 items, one was zucchini sticks, and they forgot the marinara. I called hoping they would fix the problem, but was met with attitude and complete dismissal by the woman.
