    What a fantastic sandwich.
    Alan C.

I was in a local motel, and I didn't want to go out, so I did a DoorDash. What an amazing meal. I started with the chicken soup of the day. Yes, they have a different chicken soup each day. Mine was with the orzo. There was plenty of chicken, the orzo was just the right consistency, and the soup was delicious. For my sandwich, I had the gobbler wrap. Basically, Thanksgiving dinner in a wrap.. I love these type of sandwiches. It had turkey, cranberry, and apple stuffing. There was plenty of tender turkey, the stuffing was both sweet and rich at the same time, and the cranberry played very well with the other items in the sandwich. It was an amazing sandwich. From my side, I ordered the cilantro rice, and they sent me a giant tub of cilantro rice. The rice was perfect, perfectly done, and the cilantro added a very nice flavor. And if that is not enough food, it also came with coleslaw and a dill pickle. I loved the pickle, and the coleslaw was delicious, and not overdressed. They gave me enough food to last several meals, and the price was reasonable. I will try this place again. Thank you!

We came here for lunch. The French onion soup was good but the broth was a little too salty for me and the broth was okay. Hubby enjoyed his Reuben sandwich. Our waitress was great and attentive! The diner was clean. I'd like to come back another day to try a whole meal.

For a diner, we felt Kings Valley did what it needed! For apps we had mozz sticks and spinach artichoke and while the mozzarella sticks were fairly standard we really loved the spinach artichoke dip which tasted fresh and flavorful and not too heavy or greasy! The chicken and waffles was a huuuuge portion for a really decent price and had rave reviews. The wraps were yummy though the buffalo chicken wrap was much more blue cheese than buffalo. The pesto panini was delish! Curly fries and sweet potato fries were both delicious too. Nothing missed so for a diner that's pretty good! Without a favorite diner in the area yet I'd say we will keep heading back to Kings Valley for now

Classic diner, perfect for the whole family. This is a hit for hungover Sundays, quick dinners, and even takeout! If you're craving something specific, chances are they may have it! An extensive classic diner menu, plus Greek favorites, breakfast specials, and more. Coffee was not the best but we were satisfied for our Memorial Day brunch. Waitress was sweet and attentive- food came out fast and they were super busy.

b.overly_delicious @kings_valley_diner Kingston, NY: Everyone has the one diner they grew up with. The one they spent late hours sipping coffee and smoking cigarettes in until the morning sunrise. For me that was the Barclay Heights diner, but for my kingston friends it was Michael's. Kings Valley wasn't on my radar (KVD for short) but maybe that's because it was called Texas Lunch until 2001. I was already mostly done with my late night cheese fries and gravy faze by the time it changed names. Some people swear by KVD, but I never had a reason to change my spot. I found myself here over Christmas break and was pleasantly surprised. Pierogis with bacon (I'd say lardons) and fried brussels with honey sirachi and chipotle mayo were passed around the table. Steak salad looked spectacular and my burger was exactly as expected. Everything was delicious. We had a much better experience than the last time I was at EverReady. They were totally packed. I would definitely recommend. #kingston #diner #kvd #kingsvalleydiner #burger #pierogi #brussels #steak #hveats #igeats #hvfoodies #ulster #hudsonvalley #dinerfood #eater #nyeats #ulstereateriesunfiltered @above_weddings

Our diner of choice in Kingston--great for breakfast. After several visits of experimentation, I've settled on their spinach and feta omelette with fries. Cooked light, not too wet, and not too crunchy. Their strawbanella waffle (strawberries, bananas, Nutella) is also pretty great but way too much sugar. I haven't ventured too far into their after-breakfast menu, but if it's like their breakfast menu I'm sure it's okay.

(There was an old jukebox in the lobby, though!). We had already eaten dinner but stopped in for some tea and dessert. We received a very warm welcome and great service. I got the chocolate layer cake. It was very good, not too sweet, but chocolaty enough. The only downside is that they (have to) keep these desserts in a refrigerated case and they get dried out a bit depending how long they're in there. This piece wasn't too dry. We also got a peanut butter cookie and a hot chocolate. I wanted a chocolate chip cookie but they were out. The cookie was too sweet for me. My wife said the hot chocolate was delicious. Couldn't ask for much more.

I felt like breakfast, so I had the Tuscan omelette. Portobello mushrooms, and roasted red pepper, with mozzarella cheese. It also had Home fries, and I had rye toast. Everything was good. The omelette was tender, I love, portobello mushrooms, and while I don't care for green bell pepper, I really do like red pepper The fact that it was roasted gave it more of a deep flavor. There was a good amount of mozzarella, but not so much that it overtook the rest of the ingredients. Everything played very well with each other. The potatoes were perfectly done, as was the toast. It was not overdone, like some can be. I ended up taking some of my breakfast with me, and then I also ordered an order of the bread pudding to go. Bread pudding is a diner, staple, and they do it very good here. It was tender, the custard was good, just a fantastic bread pudding overall. As of March 2025, there was a very minimal "egg surcharge", very understandable, and there is also a small surcharge if you choose to pay with anything other than cash. They don't try to hide it, they clearly post both of these surcharges. Even with all of that, the price was still very reasonable. I want to come back and try more things. Thank you.

For this reason, I decided to go with an Arnold Bennet skillet that included smoked trout. If you at all like the thought of lox and eggs, then you definitely need to try this one. It also had Parmesan, chives, and crème fraiche mixed in. The taste of this combination on a piece of toast was delicious! And something I would happily enjoy again and at reasonable prices. Plus, it was enough food that I finished it for breakfast the next morning. The seating area looks and feels like a typical NY diner. The cinnamon roll was the same one I had back in March, but unfortunately, the texture wasn't as soft this time. It was noticeably harder, although it was still generously covered in frosting like before. The scrambled eggs were soft and cooked well, but the biscuits and gravy were pretty heavy. The potatoes, however, were amazing! They were nice and crispy, which I really enjoyed. My daughter really enjoyed her meal. She ordered the French toast, sausage, bacon, pancakes, and eggs, and she was very happy with everything. Overall, the food was a mixed experience for me, but there were definitely some highlights--especially those crispy potatoes!

We both wanted the home fries extra crispy. My sister checked in to see if they were made with onions. We were told that they were not so we went for it. Anyone who follows my reviews knows I have allergies to alliums so we made the point to let our waiter, Matt know. He was quite alert, and I believe made an effort to make sure that he communicated my allergy to the kitchen. It did not take long for our order to come out and it was stunning and massive. See the photograph. Unfortunately, my sister noted almost immediately that there was onion on the plate. How disappointing because it looked so good. We flagged down Matt to let him know. He was very apologetic and swept the plate away back to the kitchen returning a few minutes later to let me know that the hashbrowns were not an option. We replace those with french fries. Overall, the plate was returned about 10 minutes later and looked free of onions. The eggs were cooked the way we asked, and the french fries were crispy, although they appear to have been tossed in cornstarch or flour to make them crispy - that's a coating which I'm not fond of. All in all, the eggs were delicious and the portion size could have fed three people. We ordered a couple of desserts to take away. Grand total was about $50. Yikes. Add the tip and you're up to $65 for breakfast. I recognized that this was a fancier breakfast and not eggs over very easy, etc. but $50 for two breakfast and two desserts two beverages. That's a lot. Even at the price of groceries these days, $65 still goes a long way in the breakfast category. The ambience is classic diner and very clean the service was quite attentive, friendly, and professional although we did have to flag Matt down a couple of times. I don't think he was distracted, I think it was more his workflow. The loss of the star is because I was served something I was allergic to. That's not really excusable, but they did apologize. I am convinced that he advised the kitchen of my allergy but before finalizing my order, a trip to the kitchen to verify about whether onions or garlic was in any of the food would have been appreciated
