This place was also down the block from our Airbnb so we could walk there. They had a lot of boozy coffee drinks and I really like that. I decided to try their Espresso Martini. This was our last bar stop prior to going out to dinner with friends. My drink had a house made espresso, Absolut vodka, Borghetti (coffee liqueur), a rich simple syrup, and coffee beans. My drink was rich and delicious and I absolutely loved their espresso. I do not recall what drinks my friends ordered. By the time we were leaving there was plenty of people in the place and appeared there was some sort of event gathering. We will have to come back here and with all the coffee drinks they had this may well be the place to start our day next time.

When we visited it was around Halloween, so they had some holiday decor. I ordered two drinks, a vodka pineapple and a martini that was on an old menu I found online. The bartender didn't know how to make it as she was newer, but she found a recipe for it. I appreciated her looking it up! Many venues to choose from, Jeffersonville River Stage; (by the way it's tonight) or Iroquois amphitheater and Wick's pizza at Goose Creek or New Albany In. Check the link for dates and times. By the way Iroquois amphitheater and Wicks and Iroquois- has tap brews with a semi full bar, plus Cheeser's food truck. All venues I've attended have clean facilities especially Iroquois Amphitheater. Kentucky of parking lots except The River Stage is mostly street. I will attend again. You can sign up ; on line or there is a kiosk. Side note; Iroquois had a few under 21 singers but none seen at Wick's. That's not a problem for me because everyone should have an opportunity to join in. I must say I will be performing tonight (just a little plug for myself from 7 till 8 as a warm up for the main show). It all started off as trying to offer something new with crowd engagement for our employees to cut loose. Once we reached out to FCK, we received nothing but hospitality. All of the band members are genuinely great people, and they encouraged everyone to participate. You don't have to be a good singer to get up and sing with FCK. They will help you through the entire thing, and the concept behind this is amazing! Our CEO was very impressed with the band, and how engaging they were with our employees. 1,000/10 all around! We were fortunate to experience the VIP treatment and access to the private upstairs lounge pre-show and during the 20-minute intermission with much shorter lines. We also exited to the backstage area post concert and just awestruck getting to meet band members. So nice! Our seats were 2nd row Orchestra B directly behind the VVIP 6-row section, so 8 rows from the stage. Stadium style seating made for great sight lines, audio and visuals, and stage performances were primo perfecto.

Unfortunately, this visit the only positive was the food. It was as good as our first visit. This time, service was slow and not near as attentive as our previous visit. I ordered a beer and it was out. I asked for a "taste" of an alternate beer. Our server disappeared for quite sometime. When he finally came back, he had forgotten my beer. We then ordered and it took forever for our food to arrive. Once our food arrived everything started to smooth out. We were about half way through our meal and they opened a whole wall of overhead doors. It's 11:45 in the morning, temperature in the upper 60's and wind blowing at about 20 mph straight in the doors. ONE table asked to open the doors totally disregarding the numerous other patrons. Keep in mind the patio was open, these customers could have eaten on the patio. The wind was extremely chilly and our napkins were blowing off the table. I mentioned to our server we didn't want the doors open and we were uncomfortable. He just grinned and said "It is a little cold" and kept walking on by. About 15 minutes later he came back to our table to see if we needed anything. I once again protested the door being opened made us quite uncomfortable. This time he spoke to someone and they closed the door on our end. By this time we were about to leave. One person in our party said had they opened the door before we got our food she would have gotten up and left. Since this is a relatively new venue, there were some kinks. Going in, we didn't have tickets so we went to the counter to purchase. There really wasn't any direction at the door so we kind of just wandered in. We found where we could purchase tickets for the show but with the lack of direction - we could have just walked in without paying. There are multiple restrooms and they were extremely clean, even later in the night. There is a raised section with some seating. Plenty of dance space. There is also a bar with both cocktails and draft beer (mostly Upland Brewing offerings). Prices weren't bad and the line moved pretty quickly. The venue holds a pretty decent amount of people and I look forward to seeing more shows there. Not going to lie, I already have tickets to see O-Town ($20 tickets - I was NOT going to pass this up!)

I have accessibility needs, and when I arrived they told me I'd have to pay $5 cash to park (which I didnt have) in a handicapped spot. It felt frustrating, especially since I drove myself and couldn't just park farther away and walk. After some discussion (thankfully, my friend spoke up), they waived the fee, but it seems like that's the default expectation, which isn't ideal for people with mobility challenges. Also, the venue itself isn't wheelchair accessible, so that's something to keep in mind. That said, the event itself was fantastic. You should definitely arrive early because most of the seating is on one level, and if someone tall sits in front of you, you might struggle to see. There is a balcony area for extra seating, though. The bar is on the pricey side--a soft drink in a 12 oz cup is about $3--but they do offer some alcoholic beverage specials. Overall, I love the storytelling events and will probably keep going, but I hope they improve their accessibility policies in the future

It started by showing my ID to get a wristband, then scanning my ticket and going through security. I enjoyed the concert I went to - the venue was loud, lighting was good, and there was some outdoor space (with a second place to order drinks.) Close to the stage, people were dancing, moshing, and having a great time. In the back, there was room to enjoy with a little more space. My one gripe, I KNOW that alcoholic drinks at all concerts and venues will be overpriced but the only option for water was an $8 can. Just be aware if you plan to hydrate!

Such is life. - Mercury Ballroom is maybe the most intimate large music venues in town. Downstairs GA gets right up by the stage and even 'the back of the room' is only ~20 feet away. - Tickets here are typically quite reasonable. Watch for the $25 show promos that happen once or twice per year. - Friendly staff! - Access to snacks and beverages upstairs and downstairs. - Upstairs accessible by stairs or elevator - Coat check available. The cons - (not their fault, no stars taken) - I struggle to find a selection of great meal options pre-show right now in this theater district part of downtown. Shout-out to the pizza guys down the street for filling my belly pre-show, you're real ones!
