My husband and I chose to spend time together for Valentines Day and decided to do another escape room. We chose to go through Gold Rush today with Ashley as our Game Guide. She was very helpful getting us ready for the game. She answered our basic questions without giving us any clues. The first room was tough. The second room was very creative and the final room had multiple items to take care of. Overall, there was an amazing team who put this room together. Innovation and creativity is evident throughout. Everything means something in their rooms. It took us 1 hour, 5.25 minutes to escape. They were nice enough to allow us to escape with a few extra minutes. Advice: you should consider doing this one with someone with whom you have good communication skills. (It required us to work together on codes.) I would also recommend you work with people you know. The rooms are not super huge, so a smaller group would be best. Nathaniel, who works in the front, was very knowedgeable in the escape room world. He gave us some thoughts about working through more rooms, and see which brands we like best. Let me start off by saying that I am from California so, this was my first time at Escape Game Dallas. Not to mention, this was my very first time completing an escape room; I wasn't sure what to expect. I'm not going to lie, I doubted the Playground Escape Game at first, but man was I far from being disappointed. Originally I wanted to complete Prison Break since my older brother--who lives in Dallas--mentioned that such escape room was difficult, yet legit. However, we decided to do Playground with the family. I must say, Playground was more than I expected; beyond speechless. Although we failed to complete the task, Playground was an amazing experience that imprinted high expectations; it's no wonder it is rated the best escape room. I cannot wait to visit Dallas again and complete the other escape rooms. Needless to say, I personally believe that Playground was a 7.5/10 in difficulty, and I have a BS along with an MSW. Perhaps I was overwhelmed and slightly nervous since it was my first time doing an escape room. Regardless, Playground was a bit more difficult than I anticipated. Either way, IT WAS TONS OF FUN! I love the Escape Game Dallas! This was my 3rd time to play this location and it did not disappoint! We played Playground with 9 friends and it was my favorite game yet! Perfect for a larger group of friends or for a birthday party. The puzzles were just enough to challenge you, but not so challenging you couldn't figure them out. Definitely family friendly and so much fun! With Playground I could go back and play again because there was so much to do, I could still discover something I missed playing the first time. They really need to improve their mobile website. The dates were covered up and we accidentally booked on the wrong date. Then they said they wouldn't allow us to change the date because it was a Groupon and those "sales were final". They eventually did let us change it, but not after being hassled on the chat on their website, by whoever picked up their phone and then their manager. Great escape rooms. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. The room we tried was the Gold Rush. It was very professional and organized. We escaped with 29 mins left so we will try a harder room next time. They offer discounts if you rebook after finishing a room. read more

The staff was really great, but compared to other escape rooms I've participated in, this one didn't have great production value. We did the jail one, and it the clues were interesting, but there are so many escape rooms out there that this one didn't really differentiate themselves from competitors. read more

High production quality! Good challenging puzzles. Did 2 rooms today(Gold Rush and The Heist). Plenty to do for groups of 6-8. Probably some of our favorite rooms in Dallas area! The only negative is my husband and I unknowingly crashed a 12 year old boy's birthday party in Gold Rush. We were able to help the boys get out and made sure they had a hand in solving all the puzzles....they were actually really good contributors!! We still had a great time and were able to escape with 15 minutes to spare. It just would have been nice to know that the majority of the group we were joining was under 18. We frequently take our own children with us when we do escape rooms, and they love it. It is an amazing activity for our whole family to enjoy. So I have absolutely no problem with children being in escape rooms. But as we were on a date night, it would've been nice to know before hand. :) read more

I love this place! I have done the THE HEIST and GOLD RUSH and both have been great experiences. The attention to detail in the rooms is really impressive and the puzzles can be challenging but very creative. I really enjoy going to this place because the environments are set up really well and you find yourself immersed in the theme. A group of 9 people came in and played playground and it was a blast. Jordyn was our game master and she was attentive and helped us when we needed it which wasn't much. The room was very detailed and exciting. It was a fun room even for our group that has done a lot of escape rooms. Definitely reccomend for beginners and pros! Was torn between giving this place a 3 star and 4 star review. Pros are good room design and it looks really cool. Nice front desk person. Did Prison Break and it was pretty ok. Cons would be that it definitely felt crowded, too small of a room for 8 people. Hints didn't help us out when we really needed the help. Puzzles were just ok, and one puzzle was really frustrating because there wasn't a defined way to do it. Our guide came in after and couldn't really explain it to us either. Overall it was just ok, nothing spectacular. read more

We've done several escape rooms and this place is certainly a favorite. The rooms are high quality and very detailed so they are totally immersive. The puzzles are great and there are lots of fun surprises. Unfortunately, we were grouped with some other people for the Playground room, one of whom had actually played the room before. She proceeded to tell us everything we needed to do even after we told her we'd like to figure things out ourselves. They had a couple of kids with them and one was celebrating a birthday so we didn't want to make a scene and ruin it for the kids. Afterwards, we explained to the staff that we were disappointed (although it was not their fault) and they did not hesitate to compensate us very generously. We are looking forward to returning for their final room and hope they open more in the area. read more

This place is amazing!!! The staff is super friendly and just helpful enough (while locker in the room) to still have a fantastic experience. I took my kids and their cousin (13, 12, and 10) and they had a blast. We all worked together and was able to escape with about 10 min remaining. I highly recommend this to anyone, just make sure you bring you thinking Cap because its not a walk in the park. Overall a great experience and I believe it was the highlight of the trip. read more

This was lots of fun for the whole family. We had my son with us who is 12 and he was really into. It's a great team building activity, fun to do with family, friends or even a group of coworkers. The rooms were nice and cool, the staff was very warm, friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to spend quality time with a group of people. We absolutely love this location! We are avid escapers and this is for sure one of our favorites! The people are all so nice, the rooms are designed in a way that you feel a true sense of adventure! We have completed Gold Rush, Playground and Prison Break (my favorite). All of the rooms were challenging enough to give you a sense of success but solveable with a good group of teammates and a good game host who can help nudge you in the right direction when you get caught spinning on something unnecessarily. Can't wait to go back and complete the Heist but will be sad when we are done with all their rooms because it is for sure our favorite way to get out and have fun with family and friends! read more

It was a crazy whirlwind of screaming and trying to figure stuff out, but we all had a great time. My son wanted us to bring him here for his 15th birthday. We had a blast! He chose the prison break for us which we were told is the hardest room they have. I have played every escape room at this location and it beats every escape room I've ever done. My room leader has been Eathin twice and he kills it every time. I've been going to the escape game for 3 years. Every year I go on my anniversary and me and my girlfriend try to escape we failed for 2 years but this time we kinda escaped. The service for the escape game is amazing. The staff is really friendly. The Escape Game was an absolute BLAST! From the moment we entered the store the staff was friendly, attentive, and gave clear directions. The place felt clean and well cared for too. Three of us completed the Gold Rush game just a few moments before our time was up. We were engaged and excited the entire 60 minutes! Not one moment felt dull or lame. The clues involved lots of different logic or reasoning skills, which was fun. We weren't always cracking number codes - there were so many other things to do!
