This is a great spot for a college student that is feeling a bit overwhelmed, wants an alternative to the nightlife, needs the feel of family... The coffee is good, and they have other options too like smoothies. There's seating available inside and outside. It's comfy and cozy. But seriously it's the vibe and the staff that makes this place. Also, there was a mix-up with our order, likely the customer's fault (me) ... they corrected it immediately... great service, thanks guys! Great vibe... Side note, out front there's a little 'park' with a plaque telling the story of - supposedly the first western duel between, Wild Bill Hitchcock and (?), that took place right there... 2nd side note, I've also been to Deadwood, SD where Wild Bill was killed in the infamous Dead Man's hand shooting.

I had a blood orange nitro coffee and it was amazing! The building is beautiful and a great place to relax or chat with a friend for a few minutes. The group that is outside of the shop with the dogs is very strange and this is not the shops fault but I don't understand why the city of Springfield doesn't ask them to move. The square in Springfield is beautiful and people don't need to camp out in the area.

I asked the young lady which kind to buy to send to her, and she said they use a different one each day. I questioned her on it, because I had bought it there before, but she was adamant. And I did make it clear that it was what they use in their lattes and espresso drinks. Well I asked her which one was the most popular and she said the House Blend. I ended up getting 3 bags of coffee, which isn't cheap, which I did send to my daughter. After the fact, I called Mudhouse and they said that wasn't the one they used, but the one I bought would be just fine. Well it isn't for me and probably not my daughter. It is a much milder blend, that I assume belongs in brewed coffee. All the man said when I called him, is that he was sorry about that. Not good customer service for sure.

I ordered the açaí bowl, and pulled to the window as directed. I waited a good 7-8 minutes, then the employee opened the window with the card reader and gave me the total. No "hi, hello, good morning," just the total. I waited a few more minutes and then the same employee opened the window and handed out my food without a word. I thanked him for the food and he just closed the window. The customer service was completely absent from the transaction. I don't expect a full conversation, but a simple greeting at the window or "you're welcome" when I got my food would have been nice. I also thought the (at least) 10-minute wait for an almost $14 after tax açaí bowl was a bit much, but I usually don't mind if the food and service is adequate. Not sure if the employees were just having a rough day, but the experience was disappointing at best and at 7 AM it has the potential to set the tone for the rest of a customer's day. Note - picture is after I mixed the bowl. It looks prettier when you first get it, and is more satisfying when you walk away with a better experience.
