Perfect neighborhood bar! While it was a Wednesday night I believe they only had 1 bartender. They have daily specials ANDDDD they serve food. I didn't try the food but I saw plenty of people eating. There is one pool table, a few digital slot machines, and outside seating. I wouldn't recommend for a big party that wants to sit together as it does have narrow walkways.

Bomb lemon pepper wings if you are looking for some. The wings were also a decent size for the price. Also had the waffles fries which were great. Unsure of the prices of drinks. They have drink specials also. Whoever was on the aux was doing their thing also. Great jams and multiple TVs

The Evangeline Lounge is a nice bar tucked away in Mid City. The drinks were on point and the food was delicious. I had my fav, a margarita, and it was definitely made with love. We were so hungry when we got there so we were going to just orderbsome fries. The cook suggested the boudin egg rolls and boy am I glad she did, they were so good. The fries are waffle fries, not Chick-fil-A but like so much better! Sorta along the lines of if Rally's fries were waffled. I will definitely be back, you can watch all the games on their many tvs, play pool, or come grab a bite and chill with friends.

Here's the current prices. No ribeye. It's a petite filet mignon now and more expensive.

The bartender on Sunday afternoon was very nice, smiled and took my order for the smash burger with waffle fries. I ordered the double. These weren't smash burgers or well not normal smash burgers. They weren't thin and they were almost burnt tasting. Waffle fries were good but I got all small bits and pieces of waffle frie bits not real whole waffles. Service was great, waffle fries ok, burger not a thin crispy smash patty we all want and love. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. ATM was out of cash and they had 3 beers out on tap. I came for a draft beer and they didn't have it so I just drank club soda. Prices and menu items changed so the one photo on Yelp doesn't do it justice.

    Keep hope alive

This is a bar post covid where you can go and still feel like things will be ok. And the oysters are fing fantastic. Bartenders are great, people are friendly, its basically what we are about here in the big easy. In times of adversity its nice to let loose and feel at ease.

    Awesome bartenders!

The Evangeline Lounge is a dive-type bar located on the corner of Toulouse and Murat Streets. It is a neighborhood bar and has a large following of regular customers. This is good and bad as it generates a lot of business but also the regular customers seem to be a little bit too comfortable in the bar area and kind of creep me out. The bar also allows smoking and many regulars are stained yellow from their habitual use of cigarettes. That's the bad. A highlight of Evangeline is their 4-5 beers on tap. They rotate in some very nice Louisiana brews. Paige, the manager, is phenomenal and it's best to visit when she is tending the bar. The drinks are great. There are three tv's above the bar, more by the pool table, and more still in an upstairs seating area that is available for party rental. The TVs are mostly pretty nice LCDs, too! So it's a great place to catch a game. The bar has offered free chicken wings, chips, dip, king cake, etc. during Saints games. There are several video poker machines along the wall. The bar does not play music and the jukebox is EXPENSIVE. Like, sell your kidney expensive. The jukebox does have an extensive collection of songs so there is a possibility of getting something in exchange for that beloved body organ. Were it not for the smoking and expensive jukebox I'd probably 5-star this bar for its awesome bartenders and cool feel. There is ample street parking in the neighborhood around the bar.

Everything was amazing! Food, drinks and people. Happy hour specials were reasonable priced and the main menu was priced well too.

No music, no food service, or anything that shows that tried to create a nice vibe. It's literally just some chairs on the rooftop. The bar has a bartender, not mixologist, who makes drinks that I can make better at home. The little drinks are served un-garnished in tiny plastic cups and cost $15+. Not to mention they will take whatever tip amount they like out if you forget to close your tab. So my basic plastic cup of lemon, sugar, and a splash of vodka (I can't even call it a lemon drop) was $20. I wish I had taken a photo of how tiny the cups are.

Yes, I learned some things about the culture and people of New Orleans and I got a few good pictures but I wouldn't recommend this at all. I was hoping to get a picture with my sister as indicated on the website but I didn't see anyone offer that or see it as an option once we made it there. I thought the mini story in the elevator was fun, short of course but they need to restructure this place I honestly was unimpressed. The website suggest it takes an hour and a half to experience the whole place, we walked the whole place, took pictures, watched 2 videos in well under an hour and a half. The employees were very nice and helpful; maybe I expected to much of Vue but I say temper your expectations.

They have a pretty good wine and beer selection, but they shine on their signature cocktails, of which there are so many that I could not reasonably list here, some of which rotate out regularly to keep variety up. Everything, and I mean *everything*, is reasonably priced, if not outright cheap. (5 stars) Service: Usually just a single bartender, except during shift changes, but the place is small enough, that is more than enough. All the 'tenders are friendly and efficient. (5 stars) Facilities: Martine's is located in a strip mall along Metairie Road. It's easily accessible from the Bonnebel exit off I-10. Signage is ample, but you have to be familiar with the turns along the street to be prepared to find it. There is some parking out front, and, as one goes to bars mainly at night, there isn't any competition for space then. There is a pool table, video poker, and what looks to be a non-functioning/unplugged pinball machine (never asked about it). The inside is smallish, and can probably hold about 50 people seated, including tables and bar stools. There is also outside seating available. It's clean, but, for whatever reason, the cigarette smoke lingers in the place. The management is aware and tries to work with customers on this angle. The decor is appropriate, with a saloon feel to it. (4 stars) Bonus 1: free pizza weeknights Bonus 2: free wings on Wednesday with Trivia Overall: The only things I dislike about this place are that it isn't walking distance from my place and the heavy cigarette smoke that makes my eyes burn. Also, Eddie kept my water glass filled and made me feel special and welcomed. The ambiance at the Fountain Lounge is classic luxury. Plus, the staff is always on point. They even remembered my special occasion when I last dined there. Plus, the team was attentive and quite friendly. My only complaint is that the piano is no longer there. Apparently, the powers that be decided to remove the soul of the restaurant. In the days of old, a pianist played sets during dinner. Not only did it make guests truly appreciate the musical style of New Orleans, but the melodic music also drew others into the restaurant. What a shame to have lost the heart and soul of the restaurant. Yet, the staff does their best to create a warm and welcoming environment, while the chefs provide truly top notch cuisine. Still a bit jet lagged, I'm glad we stuck around since the online reviews looked promising. Even though they had seating areas available, we just sat at the front end of the bar. There was a menu of carefully curated craft cocktails which impressed us with their meticulous detail (Photo 5). The bartender was patiently describing the ones that piqued our interest the most. Jamie ordered the $17 Moon Goddess, a tantalizing Senegalese-inspired tall drink mixing gin, sherry, almond, coconut water, and moon bitters (Photo 10). The hibiscus sugar rim lent a tropical sweetness that was welcome in the midst of a brisk autumn. I went for a jazzier libation, the $17 Barons Thirst, a throat-warming blend of bourbon, rum, sherry, passionfruit, coffee, and lime (Photo 8). With Haitian roots, it came amusingly with a lit cinnamon "cigar" that served as a swizzle stick. Both provided potent flavors, so we decided to have an alcohol-free second round, refreshing $10 Coco Margaritas with non-alcoholic mezcal, coconut, and lime (Photo 9).
